No. 89 of the PsalmsNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Jehovah’s expressions of loving-kindness[a] I will sing about even to time indefinite.1
For generation after generation I shall make your faithfulness known with my mouth.2
  2. ¶ For I have said: “Loving-kindness will stay built even to time indefinite;3
As for the heavens, you keep your faithfulness firmly established in them.”4
  3. ¶ “I have concluded[b] a covenant toward my chosen one;5
I have sworn to David my servant,6
  4. ¶ ‘Even to time indefinite I shall firmly establish your seed,[c]7
And I will build your throne8 to generation after generation.’” Seʹlah.
  5. ¶ And the heavens will laud your marvelous act, O Jehovah,9
Yes, your faithfulness in the congregation[d] of the holy ones.
  6. ¶ For who in the skies can be compared to Jehovah?10
Who can resemble Jehovah among the sons of God?[e]11
  7. ¶ God[f] is to be held in awe among the intimate group of holy ones;12
He is grand and fear-inspiring over all who are round about him.13
  8. ¶ O Jehovah God of armies,14
Who is vigorous like you, O Jah?[g]15
And your faithfulness is all around you.16
  9. ¶ You are ruling over the swelling of the sea;17
When it raises up its waves you yourself calm them.18
  10. ¶ You yourself have crushed Raʹhab,[h]19 even as someone slain.20
By the arm of your strength you have scattered your enemies.21
  11. ¶ Heaven is yours,22 the earth also is yours;23
The productive land[i] and what fills it24—you yourself have founded them.25
  12. ¶ The north and the south[j]—you yourself created them;26
Taʹbor27 and Herʹmon28—in your name they cry out joyfully.29
  13. ¶ An arm with mightiness is yours,30
      Your hand is strong,31
      Your right hand is exalted.32
  14. ¶ Righteousness and judgment are the established place of your throne;33
Loving-kindness and trueness[k] themselves come in before your face.34
  15. ¶ Happy are the people knowing the joyful shouting.35
O Jehovah, in the light of your face they keep walking.36
  16. ¶ In your name they are joyful all day long37
And in your righteousness they are exalted.38
  17. ¶ For you are the beauty of their strength;39
And by your goodwill our horn is exalted.40
  18. ¶ For our shield belongs to Jehovah,41
And our king belongs to the Holy One of Israel.42
  19. ¶ At that time you spoke in a vision to your loyal ones,43
      And you proceeded to say:
    ¶ “I have placed help upon a mighty one;44
I have exalted a chosen one from among the people.45
  20. ¶ I have found David my servant;46
With my holy oil I have anointed him,47
  21. ¶ With whom my own hand will be firm,48
Whom my own arm also will strengthen.49
  22. ¶ No enemy will make exactions upon him,50
Neither will any son of unrighteousness afflict him.51
  23. ¶ And from before him I crushed his adversaries to pieces,52
And to those intensely hating him I kept dealing out blows.53
  24. ¶ And my faithfulness and my loving-kindness are with him,54
And in my name his horn is exalted.55
  25. ¶ And on the sea I have put his hand56
And on the rivers his right hand.57
  26. ¶ He himself calls out to me, ‘You are my Father,58
My God59 and the Rock of my salvation.’60
  27. ¶ Also, I myself shall place him as firstborn,61
The most high of the kings of the earth.62
  28. ¶ To time indefinite I shall preserve my loving-kindness toward him,63
And my covenant will be faithful[l] to him.64
  29. ¶ And I shall certainly set up his seed forever65
And his throne as the days of heaven.66
  30. ¶ If his sons leave my law67
And in my judicial decisions they do not walk,68
  31. ¶ If they profane my own statutes
And they do not keep my own commandments,
  32. ¶ I must also turn my attention to their transgression even with a rod69
And to their error even with strokes.70
  33. ¶ But my loving-kindness[m] I shall not break off from him,71
Nor shall I prove false with regard to my faithfulness.72
  34. ¶ I shall not profane my covenant,73
And the expression out of my lips I shall not change.74
  35. ¶ Once I have sworn in my holiness,75
To David I will not tell lies.76
  36. ¶ His seed itself will prove to be even to time indefinite,77
And his throne as the sun in front of me.78
  37. ¶ As the moon it will be firmly established for time indefinite,
And [as] a faithful witness in the skies.” Seʹlah.
  38. ¶ But you—you have cast off and you keep contemning;79
You have become furious toward your anointed one.[n]80
  39. ¶ You have spurned the covenant of your servant;
You have profaned his diadem to the very earth.81
  40. ¶ You have broken down all his stone pens;82
You have laid his fortifications in ruin.83
  41. ¶ All those passing along the way have pillaged him;84
He has become a reproach to his neighbors.85
  42. ¶ You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries;86
You have caused all his enemies to rejoice.87
  43. ¶ What is more, you again treat his sword as a foe,88
And you have caused him not to gain ground in the battle.89
  44. ¶ You have made [him] cease from his luster,90
And his throne you have hurled to the very earth.91
  45. ¶ You have shortened the days of his youth;
You have enwrapped him with shame.92 Seʹlah.
  46. ¶ How long, O Jehovah, will you keep yourself concealed? For all time?93
Will your rage keep on burning just like a fire?94
  47. ¶ Remember of what duration of life I am.95
Is it all in vain that you have created all the sons of men?[o]96
  48. ¶ What able-bodied man is there alive who will not see death?97
Can he provide escape for his soul from the hand of Sheʹol?98 Seʹlah.
  49. ¶ Where are your former acts of loving-kindness, O Jehovah,[p]
About which you swore to David in your faithfulness?99
  50. ¶ Remember, O Jehovah,[q] the reproach upon your servants,100
My carrying in my bosom [the reproach of] all the many peoples,101
  51. ¶ How your enemies have reproached, O Jehovah,[r]102
How they have reproached the footprints of your anointed one.103
  52. ¶ Blessed be Jehovah[s] to time indefinite. Amen and Amen.104

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
