Book of Psalms, No. 57
No. 57 of the Psalms
For in you my soul has taken refuge;2
And in the shadow of your wings I take refuge until the adversities pass over.3
He will certainly confuse the one snapping at me.6 Seʹlah.
God will send his loving-kindness[b] and his trueness.[c]7
I cannot but lie down among devourers, [even] the sons of men,[d]
¶ Whose teeth are spears and arrows,9
And whose tongue is a sharp sword.10
Let your glory be above all the earth.12
My soul has become bowed down.14
¶ They excavated before me a pitfall;
They have fallen into the midst of it.15 Seʹlah.
My heart is steadfast.
I will sing and make melody.17
Do awake, O stringed instrument; you too, O harp.19
I will awaken the dawn.
I shall make melody to you among the national groups.21
And your trueness[g] up to the skies.23
Let your glory be above all the earth.FOOTNOTES
