Book of Psalms, No. 56
No. 56 of the Psalms
Warring all day long, he keeps oppressing me.2
For there are many warring against me high-mindedly.4
In God I have put my trust; I shall not be afraid.7
What can flesh do to me?8
All their thoughts are against me for bad.9
They, for their part, keep observing my very steps,[a]11
While they have waited for my soul.12
In anger bring down even the peoples, O God.14
Do put my tears in your skin bottle.16
Are they not in your book?17
This I well know, that God is for me.19
In union with Jehovah I shall praise [his] word.21
What can earthling man[b] do to me?23
I shall render expressions of thanksgiving to you.25
[Have you] not [delivered] my feet from stumbling?27—
That [I] may walk about before God[d] in the light[e] of those alive.28FOOTNOTES
