- ¶ To Jehovah belong the earth and that which fills it,1
The productive land[a] and those dwelling in it.2 - ¶ For upon the seas he himself has solidly fixed it,3
And upon the rivers[b] he keeps it firmly established.4 - ¶ Who may ascend into the mountain of Jehovah,5
And who may rise up in his holy place?6 - ¶ Anyone innocent in his hands and clean in heart,7
Who has not carried My[c] soul[d] to sheer worthlessness,8
Nor taken an oath deceitfully.9 - ¶ He will carry away blessing from Jehovah10
And righteousness from his God of salvation.11 - ¶ This is the generation of those seeking him,
Of those searching for your face, O [God of] Jacob.[e]12 Seʹlah. - ¶ Raise YOUR heads, O YOU gates,13
And raise yourselves up, O YOU long-lasting[f] entrances,14
That the glorious King may come in!15 - ¶ Who, then, is this glorious King?16
Jehovah strong and mighty,17
Jehovah mighty in battle.[g]18 - ¶ Raise YOUR heads, O YOU gates;19
Yes, raise [them] up, O YOU long-lasting entrances,
That the glorious King may come in!20 - ¶ Who, then, is he, this glorious King?
Jehovah of armies[h]—he is the glorious King.21 Seʹlah.
