Book of Psalms, No. 19
Psalms 19 NWT - New World Translation No. 19 of the Psalms—New World Translation (NWT)
- ¶ The heavens are declaring the glory of God;[a]1
And of the work of his hands the expanse is telling.2 - ¶ One day after another day causes speech to bubble forth,3
And one night after another night shows forth knowledge.4 - ¶ There is no speech, and there are no words;
No voice on their part is being heard.5 - ¶ Into all the earth their measuring line[b] has gone out,6
And to the extremity of the productive land[c] their utterances.7
In them he has set a tent for the sun,8 - ¶ And it is like a bridegroom when coming out of his nuptial chamber;9
It exults as a mighty man does to run in a path.10 - ¶ From one extremity of the heavens is its going forth,
And its [finished] circuit is to their [other] extremities;11
And there is nothing concealed from its heat.12 - ¶ The law13 of Jehovah is perfect,14 bringing back the soul.15
The reminder16 of Jehovah is trustworthy,17 making the inexperienced one wise.18 - ¶ The orders19 from Jehovah are upright,20 causing the heart to rejoice;21
The commandment22 of Jehovah is clean,23 making the eyes shine.24 - ¶ The fear25 of Jehovah is pure, standing forever.
The judicial decisions26 of Jehovah are true;[d]27 they have proved altogether righteous.28 - ¶ They are more to be desired than gold,[e] yes, than much refined gold;[f]29
And sweeter than honey30 and the flowing honey of the combs.31 - ¶ Also, your own servant has been warned by them;32
In the keeping of them there is a large reward.33 - ¶ Mistakes—who can discern?34
From concealed sins pronounce me innocent.35 - ¶ Also from presumptuous acts[g] hold your servant back;36
Do not let them dominate me.37
¶ In that case I shall be complete,38
And I shall have remained innocent from much transgression. - ¶ Let the sayings of my mouth and the meditation of my heart39
Become pleasurable before you, O Jehovah my Rock40 and my Redeemer.[h]41
