Psalms 104 NWT - New World Translation No. 104 of the Psalms—New World Translation (NWT)
- ¶ Bless Jehovah, O my soul.1
O Jehovah my God, you have proved very great.2
With dignity and splendor you have clothed3 yourself, - ¶ Enwrapping yourself with light as with a garment,4
Stretching out the heavens like a tent cloth,5 - ¶ The One building his upper chambers with beams in the very waters,6
Making the clouds his chariot,7
Walking upon the wings of the wind,8 - ¶ Making his angels spirits,[a]9
His ministers a devouring fire.10 - ¶ He has founded the earth upon its established places;11
It will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever.12 - ¶ With a watery deep[b] just like a garment you covered it.13
The waters were standing above the very mountains.14 - ¶ At your rebuke they began to flee;15
At the sound of your thunder they were sent running in panic— - ¶ Mountains proceeded to ascend,16
Valley plains proceeded to descend—
To the place that you have founded for them. - ¶ A boundary you set, beyond which they should not pass,17
That they should not again cover the earth.18 - ¶ He is sending springs into the torrent valleys;19
Between the mountains they keep going on. - ¶ They continually give drink to all the wild beasts of the open field;20
The zebras21 regularly quench their thirst. - ¶ Above them roost the flying creatures of the heavens;22
From among the thick foliage they keep giving forth sound.23 - ¶ He is watering the mountains from his upper chambers.24
With the fruitage[c] of your works the earth is satisfied.25 - ¶ He is making green grass sprout for the beasts,26
And vegetation for the service of mankind,[d]27
To cause food[e] to go forth from the earth,28 - ¶ And wine that makes the heart of mortal man[f] rejoice,29
To make the face shine with oil,30
And bread that sustains the very heart of mortal man.31 - ¶ The trees of Jehovah are satisfied,
The cedars of Lebʹa·non that he planted,32 - ¶ Where the birds themselves make nests.33
As for the stork, the juniper trees are its house.34 - ¶ The high mountains35 are for the mountain goats;36
The crags are a refuge for the rock badgers.37 - ¶ He has made the moon for appointed times;38
The sun itself knows well where it sets.39 - ¶ You cause darkness, that it may become night;40
In it all the wild animals of the forest move forth. - ¶ The maned young lions are roaring for the prey41
And for seeking their food from God[g] himself.42 - ¶ The sun begins to shine43—they withdraw
And they lie down in their own hiding places.[h] - ¶ Man[i] goes forth to his activity44
And to his service until evening.45 - ¶ How many your works are, O Jehovah!46
All of them in wisdom you have made.47
The earth is full of your productions.48 - ¶ As for this sea so great and wide,[j]49
There there are moving things without number,50
Living creatures, small as well as great.51 - ¶ There the ships go;52
As for Le·viʹa·than,[k]53 him you have formed to play about in it.54 - ¶ All of them—for you they keep waiting55
To give [them] their food in its season.56 - ¶ What you give them they pick up.57
You open your hand—they get satisfied with good things.58 - ¶ If you conceal your face, they get disturbed.59
If you take away their spirit,[l] they expire,60
And back to their dust they go.61 - ¶ If you send forth your spirit, they are created;62
And you make the face of the ground new. - ¶ The glory of Jehovah will prove to be to time indefinite.63
Jehovah will rejoice in his works.64 - ¶ He is looking at the earth, and it trembles;65
He touches the mountains, and they smoke.66 - ¶ I will sing to Jehovah throughout my life;67
I will make melody to my God as long as I am.68 - ¶ Let my musing about him be pleasurable.69
I, for my part, shall rejoice in Jehovah.70 - ¶ The sinners will be finished off from the earth;71
And as for the wicked, they will be no longer.72
Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Praise Jah,[m] YOU people![n]73
