- ¶ Bless Jehovah,[a] O my soul,1
Even everything within me, his holy name.2 - ¶ Bless Jehovah,[b] O my soul,
And do not forget all his doings,3 - ¶ Him who is forgiving all your error,4
Who is healing all your maladies,5 - ¶ Who is reclaiming your life from the very pit,6
Who is crowning you with loving-kindness and mercies,7 - ¶ Who is satisfying your lifetime with what is good;8
Your youth keeps renewing itself just like that of an eagle.9 - ¶ Jehovah[c] is executing acts of righteousness[d]10
And judicial decisions for all those being defrauded.11 - ¶ He made known his ways to Moses,12
His dealings even to the sons of Israel.13 - ¶ Jehovah[e] is merciful and gracious,14
Slow to anger and abundant in loving-kindness.15 - ¶ He will not for all time keep finding fault,16
Neither will he to time indefinite keep resentful.17 - ¶ He has not done to us even according to our sins;18
Nor according to our errors has he brought upon us what we deserve.19 - ¶ For as the heavens are higher than the earth,20
His loving-kindness is superior toward those fearing him.21 - ¶ As far off as the sunrise is from the sunset,22
So far off from us he has put our transgressions.23 - ¶ As a father shows mercy to his sons,24
Jehovah has shown mercy to those fearing him.25 - ¶ For he himself well knows the formation of us,26
Remembering that we are dust.27 - ¶ As for mortal man,[f] his days are like those of green grass;28
Like a blossom of the field is the way he blossoms forth.29 - ¶ For a mere wind has to pass over it, and it is no more;30
And its place will acknowledge it no further.31 - ¶ But the loving-kindness[g] of Jehovah is from time indefinite even to time indefinite32
Toward those fearing him,33
And his righteousness to the sons of sons,34 - ¶ Toward those keeping his covenant35
And toward those remembering his orders so as to carry them out.36 - ¶ Jehovah himself has firmly established his throne in the very heavens;37
And over everything his own kingship has held domination.38 - ¶ Bless Jehovah, O YOU angels39 of his, mighty in power, carrying out his word,40
By listening to the voice of his word.41 - ¶ Bless Jehovah, all YOU armies of his,42
You ministers of his, doing his will.[h]43 - ¶ Bless Jehovah, all YOU his works,44
In all places of his domination.[i]45
Bless Jehovah, O my soul.46
