Chapter 32 of NumbersNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Now the sons of Reuʹben1 and the sons of Gad2 had come to have numerous livestock, very many, in fact. And they began to see the land of Jaʹzer3 and the land of Gilʹe·ad, and, look! the place was a place for livestock.
  2. Hence the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuʹben came and said this to Moses and El·e·aʹzar the priest and to the chieftains of the assembly:
  3. “Atʹa·roth4 and Diʹbon5 and Jaʹzer and Nimʹrah6 and Heshʹbon7 and E·le·aʹleh8 and Seʹbam and Neʹbo9 and Beʹon,10
  4. the land that Jehovah defeated11 before the assembly of Israel, is a land for livestock, and your servants have livestock.”12
  5. And they went on to say: “If we have found favor in your eyes, let this land be given to your servants as a possession. Do not make us cross the Jordan.”13
  6. ¶ Then Moses said to the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuʹben: “Are YOUR brothers to go to war while YOU yourselves keep dwelling here?14
  7. And why should YOU dishearten the sons of Israel from crossing into the land that Jehovah will certainly give them?
  8. That is the way YOUR fathers did15 when I sent them from Kaʹdesh-barʹne·a16 to see the land.
  9. When they went up to the torrent valley of Eshʹcol17 and saw the land, then they disheartened the sons of Israel, so as not to go into the land that Jehovah was certain to give them.18
  10. Consequently Jehovah’s anger blazed on that day so that he swore,19 saying,
  11. ‘The men who came up out of Egypt from twenty years old upward20 will not see the soil of which I have sworn[a] to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob,21 because they have not followed me wholly,
  12. except Caʹleb22 the son of Je·phunʹneh the Kenʹiz·zite and Joshua23 the son of Nun, because they have followed Jehovah wholly.’
  13. So Jehovah’s anger blazed against Israel and he made them wander about in the wilderness forty years,24 until all the generation that was doing evil in the eyes of Jehovah came to their end.25
  14. And here YOU have risen in the place of YOUR fathers as the brood of sinful men in order to add further[b] to the burning anger of Jehovah26 against Israel.
  15. In case YOU should turn back from following him,27 he also would certainly once again let them stay longer in the wilderness,28 and YOU would have acted ruinously toward all this people.”29
  16. ¶ Later they approached him and said: “Let us build here stone flock pens for our livestock and cities for our little ones.
  17. But we ourselves shall go equipped in battle formation30 before the sons of Israel until whenever we have brought them to their place, while our little ones must dwell in the cities with fortifications away from the face of the inhabitants of the land.
  18. We shall not return to our houses until the sons of Israel have provided themselves with landed property, each with his own inheritance.31
  19. For we shall not get an inheritance with them from the side of the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us from the side of the Jordan toward the sunrising.”32
  20. ¶ At this Moses said to them: “If YOU will do this thing, if YOU will equip yourselves before Jehovah for the war,33
  21. and every equipped one of YOURS will actually pass over the Jordan before Jehovah, until he drives away his enemies from before him,34
  22. and the land is actually subdued before Jehovah,35 and afterward YOU return,36 YOU also will indeed prove yourselves free from guilt against Jehovah and against Israel; and this land must become YOURS as a possession before Jehovah.37
  23. But if YOU will not do this way, YOU will also certainly sin against Jehovah.38 In that case know that YOUR sin will catch up with YOU.39
  24. Build for yourselves cities for YOUR little ones and stone pens for YOUR flocks, and what has gone forth from YOUR mouth YOU should do.”40
  25. ¶ Then the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuʹben said this to Moses: “Your servants will do just as my lord is commanding.41
  26. Our little ones, our wives, our livestock and all our domestic animals will stay there in the cities of Gilʹe·ad,42
  27. but your servants will pass over, everyone equipped for the army,43 before Jehovah for the war, just as my lord is speaking.”
  28. ¶ Accordingly Moses gave a command respecting them to El·e·aʹzar the priest and to Joshua the son of Nun and to the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel.
  29. So Moses said to them: “If the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuʹben pass with YOU over the Jordan, everyone equipped for the war,44 before Jehovah, and the land is actually subdued before YOU, YOU must then give them the land of Gilʹe·ad as a possession.45
  30. But if they do not pass over equipped with YOU,[c] they must then be settled in YOUR midst in the land of Caʹnaan.”46
  31. ¶ To this the sons of Gad and the sons of Reuʹben answered, saying: “What Jehovah has spoken to your servants is the way we shall do.47
  32. We ourselves will pass over equipped before Jehovah to the land of Caʹnaan,48 and the possession of our inheritance will be with us[d] on this side of the Jordan.”49
  33. At this Moses gave to them, that is, to the sons of Gad50 and to the sons of Reuʹben51 and to half the tribe of Ma·nasʹseh52 the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Siʹhon53 the king of the Amʹor·ites and the kingdom of Og54 the king of Baʹshan, the land belonging to its cities in the territories, and the cities of the land round about.[e]
  34. ¶ And the sons of Gad proceeded to build Diʹbon55 and Atʹa·roth56 and A·roʹer,57
  35. and Atʹroth-shoʹphan and Jaʹzer58 and Jogʹbe·hah,59
  36. and Beth-nimʹrah60 and Beth-haʹran,61 cities with fortifications,62 and stone flock pens.63
  37. And the sons of Reuʹben built Heshʹbon64 and E·le·aʹleh65 and Kir·i·a·thaʹim,66
  38. and Neʹbo67 and Baʹal-meʹon68—their names being changed—and Sibʹmah; and they began to call by their own names[f] the names of the cities that they built.
  39. ¶ And the sons of Maʹchir69 the son of Ma·nasʹseh proceeded to march to Gilʹe·ad and to capture it and to drive away the Amʹor·ites who were in it.
  40. So Moses gave Gilʹe·ad to Maʹchir the son of Ma·nasʹseh, and he took up dwelling in it.70
  41. And Jaʹir the son of Ma·nasʹseh marched and went capturing their tent villages, and he began to call them Havʹvoth-jaʹir.71
  42. And Noʹbah marched and went capturing Keʹnath72 and its dependent towns;[g] and he began to call it Noʹbah by his own name.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
