Chapter 24 of MatthewNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Departing now, Jesus was on his way from the temple, but his disciples approached to show him the buildings of the temple.1
  2. In response he said to them: “Do YOU not behold all these things? Truly I say to YOU, By no means will a stone be left here upon a stone and not be thrown down.”2
  3. ¶ While he was sitting upon the Mount of Olives, the disciples approached him privately, saying: “Tell us, When will these things be, and what will be the sign of your presence[a]3 and of the conclusion[b] of the system of things?”[c]4
  4. ¶ And in answer Jesus said to them: “Look out that nobody misleads YOU;5
  5. for many will come on the basis of my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’[d] and will mislead many.6
  6. YOU are going to hear of wars and reports of wars; see that YOU are not terrified. For these things must take place, but the end[e] is not yet.7
  7. ¶ “For nation will rise[f] against nation8 and kingdom against kingdom,9 and there will be food shortages10 and earthquakes11 in one place after another.
  8. All these things are a beginning of pangs of distress.
  9. ¶ “Then people will deliver YOU up to tribulation12 and will kill13 YOU, and YOU will be objects of hatred14 by all the nations on account of my name.15
  10. Then, also, many will be stumbled16 and will betray one another and will hate one another.17
  11. And many false prophets18 will arise and mislead many;19
  12. and because of the increasing of lawlessness20 the love of the greater number will cool off.21
  13. But he that has endured22 to the end[g] is the one that will be saved.23
  14. And this good news24 of the kingdom25 will be preached[h] in all the inhabited earth[i] for a witness[j] to all the nations;26 and then the end[k]27 will come.
  15. ¶ “Therefore, when YOU catch sight of the disgusting thing28 that causes desolation, as spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in a holy place,[l]29 (let the reader use discernment,)[m]
  16. then let those in Ju·deʹa begin fleeing30 to the mountains.
  17. Let the man on the housetop not come down to take the goods out of his house;
  18. and let the man in the field not return to the house to pick up his outer garment.
  19. Woe to the pregnant women and those suckling a baby in those days!31
  20. Keep praying that YOUR flight may not occur in wintertime, nor on the sabbath day;[n]
  21. for then there will be great tribulation[o]32 such as has not occurred since the world’s beginning until now,33 no, nor will occur again.
  22. In fact, unless those days were cut short, no flesh would be saved; but on account of the chosen ones34 those days will be cut short.35
  23. ¶ “Then if anyone says to YOU, ‘Look! Here is the Christ,’36 or, ‘There!’ do not believe it.37
  24. For false Christs38 and false prophets39 will arise and will give great signs40 and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.41
  25. Look! I have forewarned YOU.42
  26. Therefore, if people say to YOU, ‘Look! He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out; ‘Look! He is in the inner chambers,’ do not believe it.43
  27. For just as the lightning44 comes out of eastern parts and shines over to western parts, so the presence[p] of the Son of man will be.45
  28. Wherever the carcass is, there the eagles46 will be gathered together.47
  29. ¶ “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened,48 and the moon49 will not give its light, and the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.50
  30. And then the sign of the Son of man51 will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in lamentation,52 and they will see the Son of man coming[q] on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.[r]53
  31. And he will send forth his angels with a great trumpet sound,54 and they will gather his chosen ones55 together from the four winds,56 from one extremity of the heavens to their other extremity.
  32. ¶ “Now learn from the fig tree as an illustration this point: Just as soon as its young branch grows tender and it puts forth leaves, YOU know that summer is near.57
  33. Likewise also YOU, when YOU see all these things, know that he is near at the doors.58
  34. Truly I say to YOU that this generation[s]59 will by no means pass away until all these things occur.
  35. Heaven and earth will pass away,60 but my words will by no means pass away.61
  36. ¶ “Concerning that day and hour62 nobody knows, neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son,[t] but only the Father.63
  37. For just as the days of Noah64 were, so the presence[u] of the Son of man will be.65
  38. For as they were in those days before the flood,[v] eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah66 entered into the ark;67
  39. and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away,68 so the presence[w] of the Son of man will be.
  40. Then two men will be in the field: one will be taken along and the other be abandoned;
  41. two women will be grinding at the hand mill:69 one will be taken along and the other be abandoned.70
  42. Keep on the watch, therefore, because YOU do not know on what day YOUR Lord is coming.71
  43. ¶ “But know one thing, that if the householder had known in what watch the thief was coming,72 he would have kept awake and not allowed his house to be broken into.
  44. On this account YOU too prove yourselves ready,73 because at an hour that YOU do not think to be it, the Son of man is coming.
  45. ¶ “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave74 whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?75
  46. Happy76 is that slave if his master on arriving[x] finds him doing so.
  47. Truly I say to YOU, He will appoint him over all his belongings.77
  48. ¶ “But if ever that evil slave should say in his heart,78 ‘My master is delaying,’79
  49. and should start to beat his fellow slaves and should eat and drink with the confirmed drunkards,
  50. the master of that slave will come on a day that he does not expect and in an hour80 that he does not know,
  51. and will punish him with the greatest severity[y]81 and will assign him his part with the hypocrites. There is where [his][z] weeping and the gnashing[aa] of [his][ab] teeth will be.82

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
