Chapter 1 of MarkNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ [The] beginning of the good news[a] about[b] Jesus Christ:
  2. Just as it is written in Isaiah the prophet: “(Look! I am sending forth my messenger[c] before your face, who will prepare your way;)1
  3. listen! someone is crying out in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way of Jehovah,[d] YOU people, make his roads straight,’”2
  4. John the baptizer[e] turned up in the wilderness, preaching baptism [in symbol] of repentance for forgiveness of sins.3
  5. Consequently all the territory of Ju·deʹa and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem made their way out to him, and they were baptized by him in the Jordan River, openly confessing their sins.4
  6. Now John was clothed with camel’s hair and with a leather girdle around his loins,5 and was eating insect locusts6 and wild honey.7
  7. And he would preach, saying: “After me someone stronger than I am is coming; I am not fit to stoop and untie the laces of his sandals.8
  8. I baptized YOU with water, but he will baptize YOU with holy spirit.”9
  9. ¶ In the course of those days Jesus came from Nazʹa·reth of Galʹi·lee and was baptized in the Jordan by John.10
  10. And immediately on coming up out of the water he saw the heavens being parted, and, like a dove, the spirit coming down upon[f] him;11
  11. and a voice came out of the heavens: “You are my Son, the beloved; I have approved you.”12
  12. ¶ And immediately the spirit[g] impelled him to go into the wilderness.13
  13. So he continued in the wilderness forty days,14 being tempted by Satan,15 and he was with the wild beasts, but the angels were ministering to him.16
  14. ¶ Now after John was put under arrest Jesus went into Galʹi·lee,17 preaching the good news of God18
  15. and saying: “The appointed time has been fulfilled,19 and the kingdom of God has drawn near. Be repentant,20 YOU people, and have faith in the good news.”
  16. ¶ While walking alongside the sea of Galʹi·lee he saw Simon21 and Andrew the brother of Simon casting [their nets] about in the sea, for they were fishers.22
  17. So Jesus said to them: “Come after me, and I shall cause YOU to become fishers of men.”23
  18. And at once they abandoned their nets and followed him.24
  19. And after going a little farther he saw James the [son] of Zebʹe·dee and John his brother, in fact, while they were in their boat mending their nets;25
  20. and without delay he called them. In turn they left their father Zebʹe·dee in the boat with the hired men and went off after him.
  21. And they went their way into Ca·perʹna·um.26
¶ No sooner was it the sabbath than he entered into the synagogue and began to teach.
  22. And they became astounded at his way of teaching,27 for there he was teaching them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.28
  23. Also, at that immediate time there was in their synagogue a man under the power of an unclean spirit, and he shouted,29
  24. saying: “What have we to do with you,[h] Jesus you Naz·a·reneʹ?30 Did you come to destroy us? I know31 exactly who you are, the Holy One32 of God.”33
  25. But Jesus rebuked it, saying: “Be silent, and come on out of him!”34
  26. And the unclean spirit, after throwing him into a convulsion and yelling at the top of its voice, came on out of him.35
  27. Well, the people were all so astonished that they began a discussion among themselves, saying: “What is this? A new teaching! He authoritatively orders even the unclean spirits, and they obey him.”36
  28. So the report about him spread out immediately in all directions through all the country round about in Galʹi·lee.37
  29. ¶ And immediately they went out of the synagogue and went into the home of Simon38 and Andrew with James and John.
  30. Now Simon’s mother-in-law39 was lying down sick with a fever,40 and they at once told him about her.
  31. And going to her he raised her up, taking her by the hand; and the fever left her,41 and she began ministering to them.42
  32. ¶ After evening had fallen, when the sun had set, the people began bringing him all those who were ill43 and those demon-possessed;44
  33. and the whole city was gathered right at the door.
  34. So he cured many that were ill with various sicknesses,45 and he expelled many demons, but he would not let the demons speak, because they knew him to be Christ.46
  35. ¶ And early in the morning, while it was still dark, he rose up and went outside and left for a lonely place,47 and there he began praying.48
  36. However, Simon and those with him hunted him down
  37. and found him, and they said to him: “All are looking for you.”
  38. But he said to them: “Let us go somewhere else, into the village towns nearby, that I may preach49 there also, for it is for this purpose I have gone out.”50
  39. And he did go, preaching in their synagogues throughout the whole of Galʹi·lee and expelling the demons.51
  40. ¶ There also came to him a leper, entreating him even on bended knee, saying to him: “If you just want to, you can make me clean.”52
  41. At that he was moved with pity,53 and he stretched out his hand and touched him, and said to him: “I want to. Be made clean.”54
  42. And immediately the leprosy vanished from him, and he became clean.55
  43. Furthermore, he gave him strict orders and at once sent him away,
  44. and said to him: “See that you tell nobody a thing, but go show yourself to the priest56 and offer in behalf of your cleansing the things Moses directed,57 for a witness to them.”58
  45. But after going away the man started to proclaim it a great deal and to spread the account abroad, so that [Jesus][i] was no longer able to enter openly into a city, but he continued outside in lonely places. Yet they kept coming to him from all sides.59

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
