Chapter 23 of LeviticusNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And Jehovah went on speaking to Moses, saying:
  2. “Speak to the sons of Israel, and you must say to them, ‘The seasonal festivals1 of Jehovah that YOU should proclaim2 are holy conventions. These are my seasonal festivals:
  3. ¶ “‘Six days may work be done, but on the seventh day is a sabbath of complete rest,3 a holy convention. YOU may do no sort of work. It is a sabbath to Jehovah in all places where YOU dwell.4
  4. ¶ “‘These are the seasonal festivals5 of Jehovah, holy conventions,6 which YOU should proclaim at their appointed7 times:
  5. In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month,8 between the two evenings[a] is the passover9 to Jehovah.
  6. ¶ “‘And on the fifteenth day of this month is the festival of unfermented cakes to Jehovah.10 Seven days YOU should eat unfermented cakes.11
  7. On the first day YOU will have a holy convention occur.12 No sort of laborious work may YOU do.
  8. But YOU must present an offering made by fire to Jehovah seven days. On the seventh day there will be a holy convention. No sort of laborious work may YOU do.’”
  9. ¶ And Jehovah continued to speak to Moses, saying:
  10. “Speak to the sons of Israel, and you must say to them, ‘When YOU eventually come into the land that I am giving YOU, and YOU have reaped its harvest, YOU must also bring a sheaf[b] of the firstfruits13 of YOUR harvest to the priest.
  11. And he must wave the sheaf to and fro14 before Jehovah to gain approval for YOU. Directly the day after the sabbath the priest should wave it to and fro.
  12. And on the day of YOUR having the sheaf waved to and fro YOU must render up a sound young ram, in its first year, for a burnt offering to Jehovah;
  13. and as its grain offering two tenths of an eʹphah of fine flour moistened with oil, as an offering made by fire to Jehovah, a restful odor; and as its drink offering a fourth of a hin[c] of wine.
  14. And YOU must eat no bread nor roasted grain nor new grain until this very day,15 until YOUR bringing the offering of YOUR God. It is a statute to time indefinite for YOUR generations in all places where YOU dwell.
  15. ¶ “‘And YOU must count for yourselves from the day after the sabbath, from the day of YOUR bringing the sheaf of the wave offering, seven sabbaths.[d]16 They should prove to be complete.
  16. To the day after the seventh sabbath YOU should count, fifty days,17 and YOU must present a new grain offering18 to Jehovah.
  17. Out of YOUR dwelling places YOU should bring two loaves19 as a wave offering. Of two tenths of an eʹphah of fine flour they should prove to be. They should be baked leavened,20 as first ripe fruits to Jehovah.21
  18. And YOU must present along with the loaves seven sound male lambs,22 each a year old, and one young bull and two rams. They should serve as a burnt offering to Jehovah along with their grain offering and their drink offerings as an offering made by fire, of a restful odor to Jehovah.
  19. And YOU must render up one kid of the goats23 as a sin offering and two male lambs, each a year old, as a communion sacrifice.24
  20. And the priest must wave them to and fro25 along with the loaves of the first ripe fruits, as a wave offering before Jehovah, along with the two male lambs. They should serve as something holy to Jehovah for the priest.26
  21. And YOU must make a proclamation27 on this very day; there will be a holy convention for yourselves. No sort of laborious work may YOU do. It is a statute to time indefinite in all YOUR dwelling places for YOUR generations.
  22. ¶ “‘And when YOU people reap the harvest of YOUR land, you must not do completely the edge of your field when you are reaping, and the gleaning of your harvest you must not pick up.28 You should leave them for the afflicted one29 and the alien resident.30 I am Jehovah YOUR God.’”
  23. ¶ And Jehovah went on speaking to Moses, saying:
  24. “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month,31 on the first of the month, there should occur for YOU a complete rest, a memorial by the trumpet blast,32 a holy convention.33
  25. No sort of laborious work may YOU do, and YOU must present an offering made by fire to Jehovah.’”
  26. ¶ And Jehovah spoke further to Moses, saying:
  27. “However, on the tenth of this seventh month is the day of atonement.34 A holy convention should take place for YOU, and YOU must afflict YOUR souls35 and present an offering36 made by fire to Jehovah.
  28. And YOU must do no sort of work on this very day, because it is a day of atonement to make atonement37 for YOU before Jehovah YOUR God;
  29. because every soul that will not be afflicted on this very day must be cut off from his people.38
  30. As for any soul that will do any sort of work on this very day, I must destroy that soul from among his people.39
  31. YOU must do no sort of work.40 It is a statute to time indefinite for YOUR generations in all places where YOU dwell.
  32. It is a sabbath of complete rest for YOU,41 and YOU must afflict42 YOUR souls on the ninth of the month in the evening. From evening to evening YOU should observe YOUR sabbath.”
  33. ¶ And Jehovah continued to speak to Moses, saying:
  34. “Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘On the fifteenth day of this seventh month is the festival of booths for seven days to Jehovah.[e]43
  35. On the first day is a holy convention. No sort of laborious work may YOU do.
  36. Seven days YOU should present an offering made by fire to Jehovah. On the eighth day there should occur a holy convention for YOU,44 and YOU must present an offering made by fire to Jehovah. It is a solemn assembly.[f] No sort of laborious work may YOU do.
  37. ¶ “‘These are the seasonal festivals45 of Jehovah that YOU should proclaim as holy conventions,46 for presenting an offering made by fire47 to Jehovah: the burnt offering48 and the grain offering49 of the sacrifice and the drink offerings50 according to the daily schedule,[g]
  38. besides the sabbaths of Jehovah51 and besides YOUR gifts52 and besides all YOUR vow offerings53 and besides all YOUR voluntary offerings,54 which YOU should give to Jehovah.
  39. However, on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when YOU have gathered the produce of the land, YOU should celebrate the festival55 of Jehovah seven days.56 On the first day is a complete rest and on the eighth day is a complete rest.57
  40. And YOU must take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of splendid trees, the fronds of palm trees58 and the boughs of branchy trees and poplars of the torrent valley, and YOU must rejoice59 before Jehovah YOUR God seven days.
  41. And YOU must celebrate it as a festival to Jehovah seven days in the year.60 As a statute to time indefinite during YOUR generations, YOU should celebrate it in the seventh month.
  42. It is in the booths YOU should dwell seven days.61 All the natives in Israel should dwell in the booths,62
  43. in order that YOUR generations may know63 that it was in the booths that I made the sons of Israel to dwell when I was bringing them out of the land of Egypt.64 I am Jehovah YOUR God.’”
  44. ¶ Accordingly Moses spoke of the seasonal festivals65 of Jehovah to the sons of Israel.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
