Chapter 14 of LeviticusNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And Jehovah continued to speak to Moses, saying:
  2. “This will become the law of the leper1 in the day for establishing his purification, when he must be brought to the priest.2
  3. And the priest must go forth outside the camp, and the priest must look; and if the plague of leprosy has been cured3 in the leprous one,
  4. the priest must then give command; and he[a] must take for cleansing himself two live clean birds4 and cedarwood5 and coccus scarlet material6 and hyssop.7
  5. And the priest must give command, and the one bird must be killed[b] in an earthenware vessel over running water.[c]8
  6. As for the living bird, he should take it and the cedarwood and the coccus scarlet material and the hyssop, and he must dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the running water.
  7. Then he must spatter9 it seven times10 upon the one cleansing himself from the leprosy and he must pronounce him clean,11 and he must send away the living bird over the open field.[d]12
  8. ¶ “And the one cleansing himself must wash his garments13 and shave off all his hair and bathe14 in water and must be clean, and afterward he may come into the camp. And he must dwell outside his tent seven days.15
  9. And it must occur on the seventh day that he should shave off all his hair on his head16 and his chin and his eyebrows. Yes, he should shave off all his hair, and he must wash his garments and bathe his flesh in water; and he must be clean.
  10. ¶ “And on the eighth17 day he will take two sound young rams[e] and one sound female lamb,18 in its first year, and three tenths of an eʹphah of fine flour as a grain offering19 moistened with oil and one log[f] measure of oil;20
  11. and the priest who pronounces him clean must present the man[g] who is cleansing himself, and the things, before Jehovah at the entrance of the tent of meeting.
  12. And the priest must take the one young ram and offer it for a guilt offering21 together with the log22 measure of oil and must wave them to and fro as a wave offering23 before Jehovah.
  13. And he must slaughter the young ram in the place24 where the sin offering and the burnt offering are regularly slaughtered,[h] in a holy place,25 because, like the sin offering, the guilt offering belongs to the priest.26 It is something most holy.
  14. ¶ “And the priest must take some of the blood of the guilt offering, and the priest must put it upon the lobe of the right ear of the one cleansing himself and upon the thumb of his right hand and upon the big toe of his right foot.27
  15. And the priest must take some of the log28 measure of oil and pour it upon the priest’s left palm.
  16. And the priest must dip his right finger into the oil that is upon his left palm and must spatter some of the oil with his finger seven times29 before Jehovah.
  17. And of the rest of the oil that is upon his palm the priest will put some upon the lobe of the right ear of the one cleansing himself and upon the thumb of his right hand and upon the big toe of his right foot over the blood of the guilt offering.30
  18. And what is left over of the oil that is upon the priest’s palm he will put upon the head of the one cleansing himself, and the priest must make atonement31 for him before Jehovah.
  19. ¶ “And the priest must render up the sin offering32 and make atonement for the one cleansing himself from his impurity, and afterward he will slaughter the burnt offering.
  20. And the priest must offer up the burnt offering and the grain offering33 upon the altar, and the priest34 must make atonement for him;35 and he must be clean.36
  21. ¶ “However, if he is lowly37 and does not have enough means,[i]38 he must then take one young ram as a guilt offering for a wave offering in order to make atonement for him and one tenth of an eʹphah of fine flour moistened with oil as a grain offering and a log measure of oil,
  22. and two turtledoves39 or two young pigeons,[j] according as he may have the means, and the one must serve as a sin offering and the other as a burnt offering.
  23. And on the eighth day40 he must bring them for establishing his purification41 to the priest at the entrance of the tent of meeting42 before Jehovah.
  24. ¶ “And the priest must take the young ram of the guilt offering43 and the log measure of oil, and the priest must wave them to and fro as a wave offering before Jehovah.44
  25. And he must slaughter the young ram of the guilt offering, and the priest must take some of the blood of the guilt offering and put it upon the lobe of the right ear of the one cleansing himself and upon the thumb of his right hand and upon the big toe of his right foot.45
  26. And the priest will pour some of the oil upon the priest’s left palm.46
  27. And the priest must spatter47 with his right finger some of the oil that is upon his left palm seven times before Jehovah.
  28. And the priest must put some of the oil that is on his palm upon the lobe of the right ear of the one cleansing himself and upon the thumb of his right hand and upon the big toe of his right foot over the place of the blood of the guilt offering.48
  29. And what is left over of the oil that is on the priest’s palm he will put upon the head49 of the one cleansing himself in order to make atonement for him before Jehovah.
  30. ¶ “And he must render up the one of the turtledoves or of the young pigeons for which he may have the means,50
  31. the one of them for which he may have the means as a sin offering51 and the other as a burnt offering52 along with the grain offering; and the priest must make atonement53 for the one cleansing himself before Jehovah.
  32. ¶ “This is the law for the one in whom the plague of leprosy was who may not have the means when establishing his purification.”
  33. ¶ And Jehovah proceeded to speak to Moses and Aaron, saying:
  34. “When YOU come into the land of Caʹnaan,54 which I am giving YOU as a possession,55 and I do put the plague of leprosy in a house of the land of YOUR possession,56
  35. the one to whom the house belongs must then come and tell the priest, saying, ‘Something like a plague has appeared to me in the house.’
  36. And the priest must give orders, and they must clear out the house before the priest may come in to see the plague, that he may not declare unclean everything that is in the house; and after that the priest will come in to see the house.
  37. When he has seen the plague, then if the plague is in the walls of the house, with yellowish-green or reddish depressions, and their appearance is lower than the wall surface,
  38. the priest must then go out of the house to the entrance of the house and he must quarantine57 the house seven days.
  39. ¶ “And the priest must return on the seventh day and must take a look;58 and if the plague has spread in the walls of the house,
  40. the priest must then give orders, and they must tear59 out the stones in which the plague is, and they must throw them outside the city into an unclean place.
  41. And he will have the house scraped off[k] all around inside, and they must pour the clay mortar that they cut off[l] outside the city into an unclean place.
  42. And they must take other stones and insert them in the place of the former stones; and he[m] will have different clay mortar taken, and he must have the house plastered.
  43. ¶ “If, though, the plague returns and it does break out in the house after having torn out the stones and after having cut off[n] the house and plastered it,
  44. the priest60 must then come in and take a look; and if the plague has spread in the house, it is malignant leprosy61 in the house. It is unclean.
  45. And he must have the house pulled down with its stones and its timbers and all the clay mortar of the house and must have it carried forth outside the city to an unclean place.62
  46. But whoever comes into the house any of the days of quarantining63 it will be unclean until the evening;64
  47. and whoever lies down in the house should wash his garments,65 and whoever eats in the house should wash his garments.
  48. ¶ “However, if the priest comes at all and he does take a look, and, there now, the plague has not spread in the house after having plastered the house, the priest must then pronounce the house clean, because the plague has been healed.66
  49. And to purify the house from sin he must take two birds67 and cedarwood68 and coccus scarlet material69 and hyssop.
  50. And he must kill the one bird in an earthenware vessel over running water.70
  51. And he must take the cedarwood and the hyssop71 and the coccus scarlet material and the live bird and dip them in the blood of the bird that was killed and in the running water, and he must spatter it72 toward the house seven times.73
  52. And he must purify the house from sin with the blood of the bird and the running water and the live bird and the cedarwood and the hyssop and the coccus scarlet material.
  53. And he must send the live bird away outside the city into the open field and must make atonement74 for the house; and it must be clean.
  54. ¶ “This is the law respecting any plague of leprosy75 and respecting the abnormal falling off of hair76
  55. and respecting the leprosy of the garment77 and in the house,
  56. and respecting the eruption and the scab and the blotch,78
  57. in order to give instructions79 when something is unclean and when something is clean.[o] This is the law about leprosy.”80

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
