Chapter 19 of JoshuaNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Then the second lot1 came out for Simʹe·on, for the tribe of the sons of Simʹe·on2 by their families. And their inheritance came to be in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Judah.3
  2. And they came to have in their inheritance Beʹer-sheʹba4 with Sheʹba,[a] and Mo·laʹdah,5
  3. and Haʹzar-shuʹal6 and Baʹlah and Eʹzem,7
  4. and El·toʹlad8 and Beʹthul and Horʹmah,
  5. and Zikʹlag9 and Beth-marʹca·both and Haʹzar-suʹsah,10
  6. and Beth-le·baʹoth11 and Sha·ruʹhen; thirteen cities and their settlements.
  7. Aʹin,12 Rimʹmon13 and Eʹther and Aʹshan;14 four cities and their settlements,
  8. and all the settlements that were all around these cities as far as Baʹal·ath-beʹer,15 Raʹmah16 of the south.[b] This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Simʹe·on by their families.
  9. The inheritance of the sons of Simʹe·on was out of the allotment of the sons of Judah, because the share of the sons of Judah proved to be too large for them.17 So the sons of Simʹe·on got a possession in the midst of their inheritance.18
  10. ¶ Next the third lot19 came up for the sons of Zebʹu·lun20 by their families, and the boundary of their inheritance came to be as far as Saʹrid.
  11. And their boundary went up westward also to Marʹe·al and reached to Dabʹbe·sheth and reached to the torrent valley that is in front of Jokʹne·am.21
  12. And it went back from Saʹrid eastward toward the rising of the sun to the border of Chisʹloth-taʹbor and went out to Dabʹe·rath22 and went up to Ja·phiʹa.
  13. And from there it passed over eastward toward the sunrise to Gath-heʹpher,23 to Eth-kaʹzin, and went out to Rimʹmon and was marked out to Neʹah.[c]
  14. And the boundary went around it on the north to Hanʹna·thon, and its terminations proved to be at the valley of Iphʹtah-el,
  15. and Katʹtath and Na·halʹal and Shimʹron24 and Iʹda·lah and Bethʹle·hem;25 twelve cities and their settlements.
  16. This was the inheritance26 of the sons of Zebʹu·lun by their families.27 These were the cities and their settlements.
  17. ¶ It was for Isʹsa·char28 that the fourth lot came out, for the sons of Isʹsa·char by their families.
  18. And their boundary came to be to Jezʹre·el29 and Che·sulʹloth and Shuʹnem,30
  19. and Haphʹa·raʹim and Shiʹon and An·a·haʹrath,
  20. and Rabʹbith and Kishʹi·on and Eʹbez,
  21. and Reʹmeth and En-ganʹnim31 and En-hadʹdah and Beth-pazʹzez.
  22. And the boundary reached to Taʹbor32 and Sha·ha·zuʹmah and Beth-sheʹmesh, and the terminations of their border proved to be at the Jordan; sixteen cities and their settlements.
  23. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Isʹsa·char by their families,33 the cities and their settlements.
  24. ¶ Then the fifth lot34 came out for the tribe of the sons of Ashʹer35 by their families.
  25. And their boundary came to be Helʹkath36 and Haʹli and Beʹten and Achʹshaph,37
  26. and Al·lamʹme·lech and Aʹmad and Miʹshal.38 And it reached westward to Carʹmel39 and to Shiʹhor-libʹnath,
  27. and it went back toward the rising of the sun to Beth-daʹgon and reached to Zebʹu·lun40 and the valley of Iphʹtah-el to the north, to Beth-eʹmek and Ne·iʹel, and it went out to Caʹbul on the left,
  28. and to Eʹbron and Reʹhob and Hamʹmon and Kaʹnah as far as populous Siʹdon.41
  29. And the boundary went back to Raʹmah and as far as the fortified city of Tyre.42 And the boundary went back to Hoʹsah, and its terminations came to be at the sea in the region of Achʹzib,[d]43
  30. and Umʹmah and Aʹphek44 and Reʹhob;45 twenty-two cities and their settlements.
  31. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ashʹer by their families.46 These were the cities and their settlements.
  32. ¶ It was for the sons of Naphʹta·li47 that the sixth lot48 came out, for the sons of Naphʹta·li by their families.
  33. And their boundary came to be from Heʹleph, from the big tree in Za·a·nanʹnim,49 and Adʹa·mi-neʹkeb and Jabʹne·el as far as Lakʹkum; and its terminations came to be at the Jordan.
  34. And the boundary went back westward to Azʹnoth-taʹbor and went out from there to Hukʹkok and reached to Zebʹu·lun50 on the south, and to Ashʹer51 it reached on the west and to Judah52 at the Jordan[e] toward the rising of the sun.
  35. And the fortified cities were Zidʹdim, Zer and Hamʹmath,53 Rakʹkath and Chinʹne·reth,54
  36. and Adʹa·mah and Raʹmah and Haʹzor,55
  37. and Keʹdesh56 and Edʹre·i and En-haʹzor,
  38. and Yiʹron and Migʹdal-el, Hoʹrem and Beth-aʹnath and Beth-sheʹmesh;57 nineteen cities and their settlements.
  39. This was the inheritance58 of the tribe of the sons of Naphʹta·li by their families,59 the cities and their settlements.
  40. ¶ It was for the tribe of the sons of Dan60 by their families that the seventh lot61 came out.
  41. And the border of their inheritance came to be Zoʹrah62 and Eshʹta·ol and Ir-sheʹmesh,
  42. and Sha·al·abʹbin63 and Aiʹja·lon64 and Ithʹlah,
  43. and Eʹlon and Timʹnah65 and Ekʹron,66
  44. and Elʹte·keh and Gibʹbe·thon67 and Baʹal·ath,68
  45. and Jeʹhud[f] and Benʹe-beʹrak and Gath-rimʹmon,69
  46. and Me-jarʹkon and Rakʹkon, with the border in front of Jopʹpa.70
  47. And the territory of the sons of Dan was too cramped71 for them.[g] And the sons of Dan proceeded to go up and war against Leʹshem72 and to capture it and strike it with the edge of the sword. Then they took possession of it and went dwelling in it, and they began to call Leʹshem Dan, according to the name of Dan their forefather.73
  48. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Dan by their families. These were the cities and their settlements.
  49. ¶ Thus they finished dividing the land for a possession by its territories. Then the sons of Israel gave an inheritance to Joshua the son of Nun in their midst.
  50. At the order of Jehovah they gave him the city for which he asked,74 namely, Timʹnath-seʹrah,75 in the mountainous region of Eʹphra·im; and he began to build up the city and dwell in it.
  51. ¶ These were the inheritances that El·e·aʹzar the priest and Joshua the son of Nun and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the sons of Israel distributed76 as a possession by lot in Shiʹloh77 before Jehovah, at the entrance of the tent of meeting.78 So they left off from apportioning the land.

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
