Chapter 12 of JohnNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Accordingly Jesus, six days before the passover, arrived at Bethʹa·ny,1 where Lazʹa·rus[a]2 was whom Jesus had raised up from the dead.
  2. Therefore they spread an evening meal for him there, and Martha3 was ministering,4 but Lazʹa·rus was one of those reclining at the table with him.5
  3. Mary, therefore, took a pound[b] of perfumed oil, genuine nard,6 very costly, and she greased the feet of Jesus and wiped his feet dry with her hair.7 The house became filled with the scent of the perfumed oil.
  4. But Judas Is·carʹi·ot,8 one of his disciples, who was about to betray him, said:
  5. “Why was it this perfumed9 oil was not sold for three hundred de·narʹi·i[c] and given to the poor10 people?”
  6. He said this, though, not because he was concerned about the poor, but because he was a thief11 and had the money box12 and used to carry off the monies put in it.
  7. Therefore Jesus said: “Let her alone, that she may keep this observance in view of the day of my burial.13
  8. For YOU have the poor14 always with YOU, but me YOU will not have always.”
  9. ¶ Therefore a great crowd of the Jews got to know he was there, and they came, not on account of Jesus only, but also to see Lazʹa·rus, whom he raised up from the dead.15
  10. The chief priests now took counsel to kill Lazʹa·rus also,16
  11. because on account of him many of the Jews were going there and putting faith in Jesus.17
  12. ¶ The next day the great crowd that had come to the festival, on hearing that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem,
  13. took the branches of palm trees18 and went out to meet him. And they began to shout:19 “Save, we pray you![d]20 Blessed is he that comes in Jehovah’s[e] name,21 even the king22 of Israel!”
  14. But when Jesus had found a young ass,23 he sat on it, just as it is written:
  15. “Have no fear, daughter of Zion. Look! Your king is coming,24 seated upon an ass’s colt.”25
  16. These things his disciples took no note of at first,26 but when Jesus became glorified,27 then they called to mind that these things were written respecting him and that they did these things to him.28
  17. ¶ Accordingly the crowd that was with him when he called Lazʹa·rus29 out of the memorial tomb and raised him up from the dead kept bearing witness.30
  18. On this account the crowd, because they heard he had performed this sign,31 also met him.
  19. Therefore the Pharisees32 said among themselves: “YOU observe YOU are getting absolutely nowhere. See! The world has gone after him.”33
  20. ¶ Now there were some Greeks34 among those that came up to worship at the festival.
  21. These, therefore, approached Philip35 who was from Beth·saʹi·da of Galʹi·lee, and they began to request him, saying: “Sir, we want to see Jesus.”36
  22. Philip came and told Andrew. Andrew and Philip came and told Jesus.
  23. ¶ But Jesus answered them, saying: “The hour has come for the Son of man to be glorified.37
  24. Most truly I say to YOU, Unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains just one [grain]; but if it dies,38 it then bears much fruit.
  25. He that is fond of his soul[f] destroys it, but he that hates his soul39 in this world will safeguard it for everlasting life.40
  26. If anyone would minister to me, let him follow me, and where I am there my minister[g] will be also.41 If anyone would minister to me, the Father will honor him.42
  27. Now my soul is troubled,43 and what shall I say? Father, save me out of this hour.44 Nevertheless, this is why I have come to this hour.
  28. Father, glorify your name.” Therefore a voice45 came out of heaven: “I both glorified [it] and will glorify [it] again.”46
  29. ¶ Hence the crowd that stood about and heard it began to say that it had thundered. Others began to say: “An angel has spoken to him.”
  30. In answer Jesus said: “This voice has occurred, not for my sake, but for YOUR sakes.47
  31. Now there is a judging of this world; now the ruler of this world48 will be cast out.49
  32. And yet I, if I am lifted50 up from the earth, will draw men of all sorts[h] to me.”51
  33. This he was really saying to signify what sort of death he was about to die.52
  34. Therefore the crowd answered him: “We heard from the Law that the Christ remains forever;53 and how is it you say that the Son of man must be lifted up?54 Who is this Son of man?”55
  35. Jesus therefore said to them: “The light will be among YOU a little while longer. Walk while YOU have the light, so that darkness56 does not overpower YOU; and he that walks in the darkness does not know where he is going.57
  36. While YOU have the light, exercise faith in the light, in order to become sons of light.”58
¶ Jesus spoke these things and went off and hid from them.
  37. But although he had performed so many signs before them, they were not putting faith in him,
  38. so that the word of Isaiah the prophet was fulfilled which he said: “Jehovah,[i] who has put faith in the thing heard by us?[j]59 And as for the arm of Jehovah,[k] to whom has it been revealed?”60
  39. The reason why they were not able to believe is that again Isaiah said:
  40. “He has blinded their eyes and he has made their hearts hard,61 that they should not see with their eyes and get the thought with their hearts and turn around and I should heal them.”62
  41. Isaiah said these things because he saw his glory,63 and he spoke about him.
  42. All the same, many even of the rulers actually put faith in him,64 but because of the Pharisees they would not confess [him], in order not to be expelled from the synagogue;[l]65
  43. for they loved the glory of men more than even the glory of God.66
  44. ¶ However, Jesus cried out and said: “He that puts faith in me puts faith, not in me [only], but in him [also] that sent me;67
  45. and he that beholds me beholds [also] him that sent me.68
  46. I have come as a light into the world,69 in order that everyone putting faith in me may not remain in the darkness.70
  47. But if anyone hears my sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I came, not to judge the world,71 but to save the world.72
  48. He that disregards me and does not receive my sayings has one to judge him. The word73 that I have spoken is what will judge him in the last day;
  49. because I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak.74
  50. Also, I know that his commandment means[m] everlasting life.75 Therefore the things I speak, just as the Father has told me [them], so I speak [them].”76

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
