Chapter 8 of JeremiahNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ “At that time,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “people will also bring forth the bones of the kings of Judah and the bones of its princes and the bones of the priests and the bones of the prophets and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem from their graves.1
  2. And they will actually spread them out to the sun and to the moon and to all the army of the heavens that they have loved and that they have served and that they have walked after2 and that they have sought and that they have bowed down to.3 They will not be gathered, nor will they be buried. As manure upon the face of the ground they will become.”4
  3. ¶ “And death will certainly be chosen rather than life5 on the part of all the remnant of those remaining out of this bad family in all the places of the remaining ones, where I will have dispersed them,”6 is the utterance of Jehovah of armies.
  4. ¶ “And you must say to them, ‘This is what Jehovah has said: “Will they fall and not get up again?7 If one would turn back, will the other not also turn back?8
  5. Why is it that this people, Jerusalem, is unfaithful with an enduring unfaithfulness? They have taken hold of trickiness;9 they have refused to turn back.10
  6. I have paid attention,11 and I kept listening.12 It was not right the way they kept speaking. There was not a man repenting over his badness,13 saying, ‘What have I done?’ Each one is going back into the popular course,14 like a horse that is dashing into the battle.
  7. Even the stork in the heavens—it well knows its appointed times;15 and the turtledove16 and the swift and the bulbul—they observe well the time of each one’s coming in. But as for my people, they have not come to know the judgment of Jehovah.”’17
  8. ¶ “‘How can YOU men say: “We are wise, and the law of Jehovah is with us”?18 Surely, now, the false stylus19 of the secretaries has worked in sheer falsehood.
  9. The wise ones have become ashamed.20 They have become terrified and will be caught. Look! They have rejected the very word of Jehovah, and what wisdom do they have?21
  10. Therefore I shall give their wives to other men, their fields to those taking possession;22 for, from the least one even to the greatest one, each one is making unjust gain;23 from the prophet even to the priest, each one is acting falsely.24
  11. And they try to heal the breakdown[a] of the daughter of my people lightly,[b]25 saying: “There is peace! There is peace!”[c] when there is no peace.26
  12. Did they feel shame because they had done even what was detestable?27 For one thing, they positively could not feel ashamed; for another thing, they did not know even how to feel humiliated.28
¶ “‘Therefore they will fall among those who are falling. In the time of their being given attention,29 they will stumble,’ Jehovah has said.30
  13. ¶ “‘When doing the gathering, I shall bring them to their finish,’[d] is the utterance of Jehovah.31 ‘There will be no grapes on the vine,32 and there will be no figs on the fig tree, and the foliage itself will certainly wither. And things that I give to them will pass by them.’”
  14. ¶ “Why are we sitting still? Gather yourselves together, and let us enter into the fortified cities33 and be silent there. For Jehovah our God[e] has himself put us to silence,[f]34 and he gives us poisoned water to drink,35 because we have sinned against Jehovah.
  15. There was a hoping for peace, but no good [came];36 for a time of healing, but, look! terror!37
  16. From Dan38 has been heard the snorting of his horses. Due to the sound of the neighing of his stallions the whole land has begun to rock.39 And they come in and eat up the land[g] and what fills it, the city and its inhabitants.”
  17. ¶ “For here I am sending in among YOU serpents, poisonous snakes,40 for which there is no charming,41 and they will certainly bite YOU,” is the utterance of Jehovah.
  18. ¶ A grief that is beyond curing has come up into me.42 My heart is ill.
  19. Here there is the sound of the cry for help of the daughter of my people from a land far away:43 “Is Jehovah not in Zion?44 Or is her king not in her?”45
¶ “Why is it that they have offended me with their graven images, with their vain foreign gods?”46
  20. ¶ “The harvest has passed, the summer has come to an end; but as for us, we have not been saved!”47
  21. ¶ Over the breakdown48 of the daughter of my people I have become shattered.49 I have grown sad. Outright astonishment has seized hold of me.50
  22. Is there no balsam in Gilʹe·ad?51 Or is there no healer there?52 Why is it, then, that the recuperation53 of the daughter of my people has not come up?54

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
