Chapter 7 of JeremiahNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ The word that occurred to Jeremiah[a] from Jehovah, saying:
  2. “Stand in the gate of the house of Jehovah, and you must proclaim there this word,1 and you must say, ‘Hear the word of Jehovah, all YOU of Judah, who are entering into these gates to bow down to Jehovah.
  3. This is what Jehovah of armies, the God[b] of Israel, has said: “Make YOUR ways and YOUR dealings good, and I will keep YOU people residing in this place.2
  4. Do not put YOUR trust in fallacious words,[c]3 saying, ‘The temple[d] of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah they are!’
  5. For if YOU will positively make YOUR ways and YOUR dealings good, if YOU will positively carry out justice between a man[e] and his companion,4
  6. if no alien resident,[f] no fatherless boy and no widow YOU will oppress,5 and innocent blood YOU will not shed in this place,6 and after other gods[g] YOU will not walk for calamity to yourselves,7
  7. I, in turn, shall certainly keep YOU residing in this place, in the land that I gave to YOUR forefathers, from time indefinite even to time indefinite.”’”8
  8. ¶ “Here YOU are putting YOUR trust in fallacious words—it will certainly be of no benefit at all.9
  9. Can there be stealing,10 murdering11 and committing adultery12 and swearing falsely13 and making sacrificial smoke to Baʹal14 and walking after other gods whom YOU had not known,15
  10. and must YOU come and stand before me in this house upon which my name has been called,16 and must YOU say, ‘We shall certainly be delivered,’ in the face of doing all these detestable things?
  11. Has this house upon which my name has been called17 become a mere cave of robbers in YOUR eyes?18 Here I myself also have seen [it],” is the utterance of Jehovah.19
  12. ¶ “‘However, GO, now, to my place that was in Shiʹloh,20 where I caused my name to reside at first,21 and see what I did to it because of the badness of my people Israel.22
  13. And now for the reason that YOU kept doing all these works,’ is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘and I kept speaking to YOU, getting up early and speaking,23 but YOU did not listen,24 and I kept calling YOU, but YOU did not answer,25
  14. I will do also to the house upon which my name has been called,26 in which YOU are trusting,27 and to the place that I gave to YOU and to YOUR forefathers, just as I did to Shiʹloh.28
  15. And I will throw YOU out from before my face,29 just as I threw out all YOUR brothers, the whole offspring of Eʹphra·im.’30
  16. ¶ “And as for you, do not pray in behalf of this people, neither raise in their behalf an entreating cry or a prayer nor beseech me,31 for I shall not be listening to you.32
  17. Are you not seeing what they are doing in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?33
  18. The sons are picking up sticks of wood, and the fathers are lighting the fire, and the wives[h] are kneading flour dough in order to make sacrificial cakes to the ‘queen[i] of the heavens’;34 and there is a pouring out[j] of drink offerings35 to other gods for the purpose of offending me.36
  19. ‘Is it I whom they are offending?’ is the utterance of Jehovah.37 ‘Is it not they themselves, for the purpose of shame to their faces?’38
  20. Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘Look! My anger and my rage are being poured forth upon this place,39 upon mankind[k] and upon domestic animal, and upon the tree of the field40 and upon the fruitage of the ground; and it must burn, and it will not be extinguished.’41
  21. ¶ “This is what Jehovah of armies, the God[l] of Israel, has said, ‘Add those whole burnt offerings of YOURS to YOUR sacrifices and eat flesh.42
  22. For I did not speak with YOUR forefathers, nor did I command them in the day of my bringing them out from the land of Egypt concerning the matters of whole burnt offering and sacrifice.43
  23. But this word I did express in command upon them, saying: “Obey my voice,44 and I will become YOUR God,45 and YOU yourselves will become my people; and YOU must walk in all the way46 that I shall command YOU, in order that it may go well with YOU.”’47
  24. But they did not listen, neither did they incline their ear,48 but they went walking in the counsels in the stubbornness of their bad heart,49 so that they became backward in direction and not forward,50
  25. from the day that YOUR forefathers came forth out of the land of Egypt until this day;51 and I kept sending to YOU all my servants the prophets, daily getting up early and sending [them].52
  26. But they did not listen to me, and they did not incline their ear,53 but they kept hardening their neck.54 They acted worse than their forefathers!55
  27. ¶ “And you must speak to them all these words,56 but they will not listen to you; and you must call to them, but they will not answer you.57
  28. And you must say to them, ‘This is the nation whose people have not obeyed the voice of Jehovah its God,58 and have not taken discipline.59 Faithfulness has perished, and it has been cut off from their mouth.’60
  29. ¶ “Shear off your[m] uncut hair[n] and throw [it] away,61 and upon the bare hills raise a dirge,62 for Jehovah has rejected63 and will desert the generation with which he is furious.[o]64
  30. ‘For the sons of Judah have done what is bad in my eyes,’ is the utterance of Jehovah. ‘They have set their disgusting things in the house upon which my name has been called, in order to defile it.65
  31. And they have built the high places of Toʹpheth,66 which is in the valley of the son of Hinʹnom,[p]67 in order to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire,68 a thing that I had not commanded and that had not come up into my heart.’69
  32. ¶ “‘Therefore, look! days are coming,’ is the utterance of Jehovah, ‘when it will no more be said [to be] Toʹpheth and the valley of the son of Hinʹnom, but the valley of the killing;70 and they will have to bury in Toʹpheth without there being enough place.[q]71
  33. And the dead bodies of this people must become food for the flying creatures of the heavens and for the beasts of the earth, with nobody to make [them] tremble.72
  34. And I will cause to cease from the cities of Judah and from the streets of Jerusalem the voice of exultation and the voice of rejoicing, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride;73 for the land will become nothing but a devastated place.’”74

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
