Chapter 32 of JeremiahNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ The word that occurred to Jeremiah from Jehovah in the tenth year of Zed·e·kiʹah the king of Judah,1 that is, the eighteenth year of Neb·u·chad·rezʹzar.2
  2. And at that time the military forces of the king of Babylon were laying siege to Jerusalem;3 and as for Jeremiah the prophet, he happened to be under restraint in the Courtyard of the Guard4 that is in the house of the king of Judah;
  3. because Zed·e·kiʹah the king of Judah had restrained him,5 saying:
¶ “Why is it that you are prophesying,6 saying, ‘This is what Jehovah has said: “Here I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he will certainly capture it;7
  4. and Zed·e·kiʹah himself, the king of Judah, will not escape from the hand of the Chal·deʹans, for he will without fail be given into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth will actually speak with the mouth of that one, and his own eyes will see even the eyes of that one”’;8
  5. ‘and to Babylon he will take Zed·e·kiʹah, and there he will continue until I turn my attention to him,’9 is the utterance of Jehovah; ‘although YOU men keep warring against the Chal·deʹans, YOU will not succeed’?”10
  6. ¶ And Jeremiah proceeded to say: “The word of Jehovah has occurred to me, saying,
  7. ‘Here is Hanʹa·mel the son of Shalʹlum your paternal uncle coming in to you, saying: “Buy for yourself the field of mine that is in Anʹa·thoth,11 because the right of repurchase belongs to you for buying [it].”’”12
  8. ¶ In time Hanʹa·mel the son of my paternal uncle came in to me, according to the word of Jehovah, into the Courtyard of the Guard,13 and proceeded to say to me: “Buy,[a] please, the field of mine that is in Anʹa·thoth,14 which is in the land of Benjamin,15 for the right of hereditary possession is yours, and the repurchasing power is yours. Buy [it] for yourself.” At that I knew that it had been the word of Jehovah.16
  9. ¶ So I proceeded to buy from Hanʹa·mel17 the son of my paternal uncle the field that was in Anʹa·thoth.18 And I began to weigh out to him the money,19 seven shekels[b] and ten silver pieces.
  10. Then I wrote in a deed20 and affixed the seal21 and took witnesses22 as I went weighing23 the money in the scales.
  11. After that I took the deed of purchase, the one sealed according to the commandment and the regulations,24 and the one left open;
  12. and I then gave the deed of purchase to Barʹuch25 the son of Ne·riʹah26 the son of Mah·seiʹah before the eyes of Hanʹa·mel [the son of] my paternal uncle and before the eyes of the witnesses, those writing in the deed of purchase,27 before the eyes of all the Jews who were sitting in the Courtyard of the Guard.28
  13. ¶ I now commanded Barʹuch before their eyes, saying:
  14. “This is what Jehovah of armies, the God of Israel, has said, ‘Taking these deeds, this deed of purchase, even the sealed one, and the other deed left open,29 you must also put them into an earthenware vessel, in order that they may last for many days.’
  15. For this is what Jehovah of armies, the God of Israel, has said, ‘Houses and fields and vineyards will yet be bought in this land.’”30
  16. ¶ And I began to pray31 to Jehovah after my having given the deed of purchase to Barʹuch32 the son of Ne·riʹah,33 saying:
  17. “Alas, O Sovereign Lord Jehovah!34 Here you yourself have made the heavens and the earth by your great power35 and by your outstretched arm.36 The whole matter is not too wonderful for you yourself,37
  18. the One exercising loving-kindness toward thousands,38 and repaying the error of the fathers into the bosom of their sons after them,39 the [true] God,[c] the great One,40 the mighty One,[d]41 Jehovah of armies42 being his name,43
  19. great in counsel44 and abundant in acts,45 you whose eyes are opened upon all the ways of the sons of men,[e]46 in order to give to each one according to his ways and according to the fruitage of his dealings;47
  20. you who set signs and miracles in the land of Egypt down to this day and in Israel and among men,[f]48 that you might make a name for your own self, just as at this day.49
  21. And you proceeded to bring forth your people Israel out of the land of Egypt,50 with signs and with miracles51 and with a strong hand and with a stretched-out arm and with great fearsomeness.52
  22. ¶ “In time you gave them this land that you swore to their forefathers to give to them,53 a land flowing with milk and honey.54
  23. And they proceeded to come in and take possession of it,55 but they did not obey your voice, and in your law they did not walk.56 All the things that you commanded them to do they did not do,57 so that you caused all this calamity to befall them.58
  24. Look! With siege ramparts59 men have come to the city to capture it,60 and the very city will certainly be given into the hand of the Chal·deʹans who are fighting against it,61 because of the sword62 and the famine63 and the pestilence;64 and what you have said has happened, and here you are seeing [it].65
  25. Yet you yourself have said to me, O Sovereign Lord Jehovah, ‘Buy for yourself the field with money66 and take witnesses,’67 although the city itself must be given into the hand of the Chal·deʹans.”68
  26. ¶ At that the word of Jehovah occurred to Jeremiah, saying:
  27. “Here I am, Jehovah, the God of all flesh.69 For me is there any matter at all too wonderful?70
  28. Therefore this is what Jehovah has said, ‘Here I am giving this city into the hand of the Chal·deʹans and into the hand of Neb·u·chad·rezʹzar the king of Babylon, and he must capture it.71
  29. And the Chal·deʹans who are fighting against this city must come in and set this city aflame with fire and must burn it down72 and the houses upon the roofs of which they have made sacrificial smoke to Baʹal and have poured out drink offerings to other gods[g] for the purpose of offending me.’73
  30. ¶ “‘For the sons of Israel and the sons of Judah have proved to be mere doers of what was bad in my eyes, from their youth on up;74 for the sons of Israel are even offending me by the work of their hands,’75 is the utterance of Jehovah.
  31. ‘For this city, from the day that they built it, clear down to this day, has proved to be nothing but a cause of anger in me76 and a cause of rage in me, in order to remove it from before my face,77
  32. on account of all the badness of the sons of Israel78 and of the sons of Judah79 that they have done to offend me,80 they, their kings,81 their princes,82 their priests83 and their prophets,84 and the men[h] of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
  33. And they kept turning to me the back and not the face;85 though there was a teaching of them, a rising up early and teaching, but there were none of them listening to receive discipline.86
  34. And they went putting their disgusting things in the house upon which my own name has been called, in order to defile it.87
  35. Furthermore, they built the high places of Baʹal88 that are in the valley of the son of Hinʹnom,[i]89 in order to make their sons and their daughters pass through [the fire]90 to Moʹlech,91 a thing that I did not command them,92 neither did it come up into my heart to do this detestable thing,93 for the purpose of making Judah sin.’94
  36. ¶ “And now, therefore, this is what Jehovah the God of Israel has said concerning this city which YOU persons are saying will certainly be given into the hand of the king of Babylon by the sword and by the famine and by the pestilence,95
  37. ‘Here I am collecting them together out of all the lands to which I shall have dispersed them in my anger and in my rage and in great indignation;96 and I will bring them back to this place and make them dwell in security.97
  38. And they will certainly become my people,98 and I myself shall become their God.99
  39. And I will give them one heart100 and one way in order to fear me always,[j] for good to them and to their sons after them.101
  40. And I will conclude with them an indefinitely lasting covenant,102 that I shall not turn back from behind them, for me to do them good;103 and the fear of me I shall put in their heart in order not to turn aside from me.104
  41. And I will exult over them to do them good,105 and I will plant them in this land106 in trueness[k] with all my heart and with all my soul.’”
  42. ¶ “For this is what Jehovah has said, ‘Just as I have brought in upon this people all this great calamity, so I am bringing in upon them all the goodness that I am speaking concerning them.107
  43. And fields[l] will certainly be bought in this land108 of which YOU people will be saying: “It is a desolate waste109 without man[m] and domestic animal. It has been given into the hand of the Chal·deʹans.”’110
  44. ¶ “‘With money people will buy fields themselves, and there will be a recording in the deed111 and a sealing and a taking of witnesses112 in the land of Benjamin113 and in the surroundings of Jerusalem114 and in the cities of Judah115 and in the cities of the mountainous region and in the cities of the lowland[n]116 and in the cities of the south,[o]117 because I shall bring back their captives,’118 is the utterance of Jehovah.”

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!

I live in Dover, Delaware. My boyfriend Juan Tover and I have been dating for the past 4 yrs we were to get married in September of this year but it never happened..he constantly messes around with his ex's and other females every time he got caught he apologized and tell me to forgive him and I keep taking him back because I'm truly in love with this man but after a while he started messing around again...what can I do to make this man to love me and stop the messing around so we could get married and start our family? I am very happy I contacted Priest Salami regarding my problem. My boyfriend is now my HUSBAND. We got married 2 weeks ago in the United Church in Dover. My problem was solved.
