Chapter 30 of Jeremiah—New World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ The word that occurred to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:
  2. “This is what Jehovah the God of Israel has said, ‘Write for yourself in a book all the words that I will speak to you.1
  3. For, “look! there are days coming,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and I will gather the captive ones of my people, Israel and Judah,”2 Jehovah has said, “and I will bring them back to the land that I gave to their forefathers, and they will certainly repossess it.”’”3
  4. ¶ And these are the words that Jehovah has spoken to Israel and to Judah.
  5. For this is what Jehovah has said: “The sound of trembling we have heard, dread,4 and there is no peace.
  6. Ask, please, O men, and see whether a male is giving birth. Why is it that I have seen every able-bodied man with his hands upon his loins like a female that is giving birth,5 and all faces have turned pale?6
  7. Alas! For that day is a great one,7 so that there is no other like it,8 and it is the time of distress for Jacob.9 But he will be saved even out of it.”
  8. ¶ “And it must occur in that day,” is the utterance of Jehovah of armies, “that I shall break one’s yoke from off your neck, and your bands I shall tear in two,10 and no more will strangers exploit him as a servant.
  9. And they will certainly serve Jehovah their God and David their king,11 whom I shall raise up for them.”12
  10. ¶ “And as for you, do not be afraid, O my servant Jacob,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “and do not be struck with terror, O Israel.13 For here I am saving you from far off and your offspring from the land of their captivity.14 And Jacob will certainly return and be free of disturbance and be at ease, and there will be no one causing trembling.”15
  11. ¶ “For I am with you,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “to save you;16 but I shall make an extermination among all the nations to which I have scattered you.17 However, in your case I shall make no extermination.18 And I shall have to correct you to the proper degree, as I shall by no means leave you unpunished.”19
  12. ¶ For this is what Jehovah has said: “There is no cure for your[a] breakdown.20 Your stroke is chronic.21
  13. There is no one pleading your cause, for [your] ulcer.22 There are no means of healing, no mending, for you.23
  14. All those intensely loving you are the ones that have forgotten you.24 You are not the one for whom they keep searching. For with the stroke of an enemy I have struck you,25 with the chastisement of someone cruel,26 on account of the abundance of your error;27 your sins have become numerous.28
  15. Why do you cry out on account of your breakdown?29 Your pain is incurable on account of the abundance of your error; your sins have become numerous.30 I have done these things to you.
  16. Therefore all those devouring you will themselves be devoured;31 and as for all your adversaries, into captivity they will all of them go.32 And those pillaging you[b] will certainly come to be for pillaging, and all those plundering you I shall give over to plundering.”33
  17. ¶ “For I shall bring up a recuperation for you, and from your strokes I shall heal you,”34 is the utterance of Jehovah. “For a woman chased away is what they called you:35 ‘That is Zion, for whom no one is searching.’”36
  18. ¶ This is what Jehovah has said: “Here I am gathering the captive ones of the tents of Jacob,37 and for his tabernacles I shall have pity. And the city will actually be rebuilt upon her mound;38 and upon its rightful site the dwelling tower itself will sit.39
  19. And from them there will certainly go forth thanksgiving, and the sound of those who are laughing.40 And I will multiply them, and they will not become few;41 and I will make them heavy in number, and they will not become insignificant.42
  20. And his sons must become as in former times, and before me his own assembly will be firmly established.43 And I will turn my attention upon all his oppressors.44
  21. And his majestic one will certainly come to be from him,45 and from the midst of him his own ruler will go forth;46 and I will cause him to come near, and he must approach to me.”47
    ¶ “For who, now, is this one that has given his heart in pledge in order to approach to me?”48 is the utterance of Jehovah.
  22. “And YOU will certainly become my people,49 and I myself shall become YOUR God.”50
  23. ¶ Look! A windstorm of Jehovah, rage itself, has gone forth, an onward-sweeping tempest.[c]51 Upon the head of the wicked ones it will whirl.52
  24. The burning anger of Jehovah will not turn back until he will have executed and until he will have carried out the ideas of his heart.53 In the final part of the days YOU people will give YOUR consideration to it.54

    The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

    Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

    15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

    15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible,whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things,and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

    The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

      Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

      Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

      Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

      Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

    Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

    Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

    As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
    New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

    In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
    "There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
    And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
    "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

      Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

      As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

      Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

      Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

      Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

      I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

      I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

      What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

      We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

      Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

      Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
