Chapter 5 of IsaiahNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Let me sing, please, to my beloved one a song of my loved one concerning his vineyard.1 There was a vineyard that my beloved one came to have on a fruitful hillside.[a]
  2. And he proceeded to dig it up and to rid it of stones and to plant it with a choice red vine, and to build a tower in the middle of it.2 And there was also a winepress that he hewed out in it.3 And he kept hoping for it to produce grapes,4 but it gradually produced wild grapes.[b]5
  3. ¶ “And now, O YOU inhabitants[c] of Jerusalem and YOU men[d] of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.6
  4. What is there yet to do for my vineyard that I have not already done in it?7 Why is it that I hoped for it to produce grapes, but it gradually produced wild grapes?
  5. And now, please, may I make known to YOU men what I am doing to my vineyard: There will be a removing of its hedge,8 and it must be destined for burning down.9 There must be a breaking down of its stone wall, and it must be destined for a place of trampling.10
  6. And I shall set it as a thing destroyed.11 It will not be pruned, nor will it be hoed.12 And it must come up with the thornbush and weeds;13 and upon the clouds I shall lay a command to keep from precipitating any rain upon it.14
  7. For the vineyard15 of Jehovah of armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah are the plantation of which he was fond.16 And he kept hoping for judgment,17 but, look! the breaking of law;[e] for righteousness, but, look! an outcry.”18
  8. ¶ Woe to the ones joining house to house,19 [and] those who annex field to field until there is no more room20 and YOU men have been made to dwell all by yourselves in the midst of the land!
  9. In my ears Jehovah of armies [has sworn that] many houses, though great and good, will become an outright object of astonishment, without an inhabitant.21
  10. For even ten acres22 of vineyard will produce but one bath[f] measure,23 and even a hoʹmer[g] measure of seed will produce but an eʹphah[h] measure.24
  11. ¶ Woe to those who are getting up early in the morning that they may seek just intoxicating liquor,25 who are lingering till late in the evening darkness so that wine itself inflames them!26
  12. And there must prove to be harp and stringed instrument, tambourine and flute, and wine at their feasts;27 but the activity of Jehovah they do not look at, and the work of his hands they have not seen.28
  13. ¶ Therefore my people will have to go into exile for lack of knowledge;29 and their glory will be famished men,[i]30 and their crowd will be parched with thirst.31
  14. Therefore Sheʹol[j] has made its soul[k] spacious and has opened its mouth wide beyond bounds;32 and what is splendid in her,[l] also her crowd and her uproar and the exultant one, will certainly go down into it.33
  15. And earthling man will bow down, and man will become low, and even the eyes of the high ones will become low.34
  16. And Jehovah of armies will become high through judgment,35 and the [true] God,[m] the Holy One,36 will certainly sanctify himself through righteousness.37
  17. And the male lambs will actually graze as in their pasture; and the desolate places of well-fed animals alien residents[n] will eat.38
  18. ¶ Woe to those drawing error with ropes of untruth, and as with wagon cords sin;39
  19. those who are saying: “Let his work hasten; do let it come quickly,[o] in order that we may see [it]; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know [it]!”40
  20. ¶ Woe to those who are saying that good is bad and bad is good,41 those who are putting darkness for light and light for darkness, those who are putting bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!42
  21. ¶ Woe to those wise in their own eyes and discreet even in front of their own faces!43
  22. ¶ Woe to those who are mighty in drinking wine, and to the men with vital energy for mixing intoxicating liquor,44
  23. those who are pronouncing the wicked one righteous in consideration of a bribe,45 and who take away even the righteousness[p] of the righteous one[q] from him!46
  24. ¶ Therefore just as a tongue of fire eats up the stubble47 and into the flames mere dried grass sinks down, their very rootstock will become just like a musty smell,48 and their blossom itself will go up just like powder, because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of armies,49 and the saying of the Holy One of Israel they have disrespected.50
  25. That is why the anger of Jehovah has grown hot against his people, and he will stretch out his hand against them and strike them.51 And the mountains will be agitated,52 and their dead bodies will become like the offal in the midst of the streets.53
¶ In view of all this his anger has not turned back, but his hand is stretched out still.
  26. And he has raised up a signal to a great nation[r] far away,54 and he has whistled to it at the extremity of the earth;55 and, look! in haste it will swiftly come in.56
  27. There is no one tired nor is anyone stumbling among them.[s] No one is drowsy and no one sleeps. And the belt around their loins will certainly not be opened, nor the laces of their sandals be torn in two;
  28. because their arrows are sharpened and all their bows are bent.57 The very hoofs of their horses will have to be accounted as flint itself,58 and their wheels as a storm wind.59
  29. The roaring of theirs is like that of a lion, and they roar like maned young lions.60 And they will growl and grab hold of the prey and bring [it] safely away, and there will be no deliverer.61
  30. And they will growl over it in that day as with the growling of the sea.62 And one will actually gaze at the land, and, look! there is distressing darkness;63 and even the light has grown dark because of the drops falling on it.

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
