Chapter 7 of EzraNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And after these things in the reign of Ar·ta·xerxʹes1 the king of Persia, Ezʹra2 the son of Se·raiʹah3 the son of Az·a·riʹah the son of Hil·kiʹah4
  2. the son of Shalʹlum5 the son of Zaʹdok6 the son of A·hiʹtub7
  3. the son of Am·a·riʹah8 the son of Az·a·riʹah9 the son of Me·raʹioth10
  4. the son of Zer·a·hiʹah11 the son of Uzʹzi12 the son of Bukʹki13
  5. the son of Ab·i·shuʹa14 the son of Phinʹe·has15 the son of El·e·aʹzar16 the son of Aaron17 the chief priest[a]18
  6. the said Ezʹra himself went up from Babylon; and he was a skilled copyist19 in the law of Moses,20 which Jehovah the God of Israel had given, so that the king granted him, according to the hand of Jehovah his God upon him, all his request.21
  7. ¶ Consequently some of the sons of Israel and of the priests22 and the Levites23 and the singers24 and the gatekeepers25 and the Nethʹi·nim26 went up to Jerusalem in the seventh year of Ar·ta·xerxʹes27 the king.
  8. At length he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, that is, in the seventh year of the king.
  9. For on the first [day] of the first month he himself appointed the going up from Babylon, and on the first [day] of the fifth month he came to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.28
  10. For Ezʹra himself had prepared29 his heart to consult the law of Jehovah30 and to do [it]31 and to teach32 in Israel regulation33 and justice.34
  11. ¶ And this is a copy of the letter that King Ar·ta·xerxʹes gave Ezʹra the priest the copyist,35 a copyist of the words of the commandments of Jehovah and of his regulations toward Israel:
  12. [b] “Ar·ta·xerxʹes,36 the king of kings,37 to Ezʹra the priest, the copyist of the law of the God of the heavens:38 [Peace] be perfected.39 And now
  13. by me an order40 has been put through that everyone in my realm41 of the people of Israel and their priests and Levites that is willing to go to Jerusalem with you should go.42
  14. Inasmuch as from before the king and his seven counselors43 [an order] was sent to investigate44 concerning Judah and Jerusalem in the law45 of your God46 that is in your hand,
  15. and to bring the silver and the gold that the king and his counselors have voluntarily given47 to the God of Israel, whose residence is in Jerusalem,48
  16. with all the silver and the gold that you find in all the jurisdictional district of Babylon along with the gift of the people49 and the priests who are voluntarily giving to the house of their God,50 which is in Jerusalem;
  17. accordingly you will promptly buy with this money bulls,51 rams,52 lambs53 and their grain offerings54 and their drink offerings55 and you will present them upon the altar of the house of YOUR God,56 which is in Jerusalem.57
  18. ¶ “And whatever it seems good to you and to your brothers to do with the rest of the silver and gold,58 according to the will59 of YOUR God, YOU men will do.60
  19. And the vessels61 that are being given to you for the service of the house of your God deliver in full before God at Jerusalem.62
  20. And the rest of the necessities of the house of your God that it devolves upon you to give, you will give out of the king’s house of treasures.63
  21. ¶ “And by me myself, Ar·ta·xerxʹes the king, an order64 has been put through to all the treasurers65 that are beyond the River,66 that everything that Ezʹra67 the priest, the copyist of the law of the God of the heavens, requests of YOU men it will be done promptly,
  22. even to a hundred talents[c]68 of silver and a hundred cor[d]69 measures of wheat and a hundred bath[e]70 measures of wine71 and a hundred bath measures of oil,72 and salt73 without limit.
  23. Let all that is by the order74 of the God of the heavens be done with zeal75 for the house of the God of the heavens,76 that there may occur no wrath against the king’s realm and his sons.77
  24. And to YOU men it is being made known that, as respects any of the priests78 and the Levites,79 the musicians,[f]80 the doorkeepers,81 the Nethʹi·nim,82 and the workers of this house of God, no tax, tribute83 or toll84 is allowed to be imposed upon them.
  25. ¶ “And you, Ezʹra, according to the wisdom85 of your God that is in your hand appoint magistrates and judges that they may continually judge86 all the people that are beyond the River, even all those knowing the laws of your God; and anyone that has not known [them] YOU men will instruct.87
  26. And as for everyone that does not become a doer of the law of your God88 and the law of the king, let judgment be promptly executed upon him, whether for death89 or for banishment,90 or for money fine91 or for imprisonment.”[g]
  27. ¶ Blessed be Jehovah the God of our forefathers,92 who has put such a thing into the heart93 of the king, to beautify94 the house of Jehovah, which is in Jerusalem!
  28. And toward me he has extended loving-kindness[h]95 before the king and his counselors96 and as respects all the mighty princes of the king. And I, for my part, strengthened myself according to the hand97 of Jehovah my God upon me, and I proceeded to collect out of Israel the head ones to go up with me.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
