Chapter 7 of Ezekiel—New World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And the word of Jehovah continued to occur to me, saying:
  2. “And as for you, O son of man, this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said to the soil of Israel, ‘An end, the end, has come upon the four extremities[a] of the land.[b]1
  3. Now the end is upon you,[c]2 and I must send my anger against you, and I will judge you according to your ways3 and bring upon you all your detestable things.
  4. And my eye will not feel sorry for you,4 neither will I feel compassion, for upon you I shall bring your own ways, and in the midst of you your own detestable things will come to be;5 and YOU people will have to know that I am Jehovah.’6
  5. ¶ “This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘A calamity, a unique calamity, look! it is coming.7
  6. An end itself must come.8 The end must come; it must awaken for you.[d] Look! It is coming.9
  7. The garland[e] must come to you,[f] O inhabiter of the land,[g] the time must come, the day is near.10 There is confusion, and not the shouting of the mountains.
  8. ¶ “‘Now shortly I shall pour out my rage upon you,11 and I will bring my anger against you to its finish,12 and I will judge you according to your ways13 and bring upon you all your detestable things.
  9. Neither will my eye feel sorry14 nor shall I feel compassion.15 According to your ways shall I do the bringing upon you yourself, and your own detestable things will come to be right in the midst of you;16 and YOU people will have to know that I am Jehovah doing the smiting.[h]17
  10. ¶ “‘Look! The day! Look! It is coming.18 The garland has gone forth.19 The rod has blossomed.20 Presumptuousness has sprouted.21
  11. Violence itself has risen up into a rod of wickedness.22 It is not from them, nor is it from their wealth; and it is not from their own selves, nor is there any eminency[i] in them.
  12. The time must come, the day must arrive. As regards the buyer, let him not rejoice;23 and as regards the seller, let him not go into mourning, for there is hot feeling against all its crowd.
  13. For to what was sold the seller himself will not return, while their life is yet among the living ones; for the vision is for all its crowd. No one will return, and they will not possess themselves each one[j] of his own life by his own error.
  14. ¶ “‘They have blown the trumpet24 and there has been a preparing of everybody, but there is no one going to the battle, because my hot feeling is against all its crowd.25
  15. The sword26 is outside, and the pestilence and the famine are inside.27 Whoever is in the field, by the sword he will die, and whoever are in the city, famine and pestilence themselves will devour them.28
  16. And their escapees will certainly make their escape29 and become on the mountains like the doves of the valleys,30 all of which are moaning, each one in his own error.
  17. As for all the hands, they keep dropping down;31 and as for all knees, they keep dripping with water.[k]32
  18. And they have girded on sackcloth,33 and shuddering has covered them;34 and on all faces there is shame35 and on all their heads there is baldness.36
  19. ¶ “‘Into the streets they will throw their very silver, and an abhorrent thing their own gold will become. Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Jehovah’s fury.37 Their souls they will not satisfy, and their intestines they will not fill, for it has become a stumbling block causing their error.38
  20. And the decoration of one’s ornament—one has set it as reason for pride; and their detestable images,39 their disgusting things,40 they have made with it.[l] That is why I will make it to them an abhorrent thing.41
  21. And I will give it into the hand of the strangers for plunder and to the wicked ones of the earth for spoil,42 and they will certainly profane it.
  22. ¶ “‘And I shall have to turn away my face from them,43 and they will actually profane my concealed place,[m] and into it[n] robbers will really come and profane it.44
  23. ¶ “‘Make the chain,[o]45 for the land[p] itself has become full of bloodstained judgment[q]46 and the city itself has become full of violence.47
  24. And I will bring in the worst ones of the nations,48 and they will certainly take possession of their houses,49 and I will cause the pride of the strong ones to cease,50 and their sanctuaries must be profaned.51
  25. There will come anguish, and they will certainly seek peace but there will be none.52
  26. There will come adversity upon adversity,53 and there will occur report upon report, and people will actually seek a vision from a prophet,54 and the law itself will perish from a priest and counsel from elderly men.55
  27. The king himself will go into mourning;56 even a chieftain will clothe himself with desolation,57 and the very hands of the people of the land[r] will get disturbed. According to their way I shall act toward them,58 and with their judgments I shall judge them;59 and they will have to know that I am Jehovah.’”60

    The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

    Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

    15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

    15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible,whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things,and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

    The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

      Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

      Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

      Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

      Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

    Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

      The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

    Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

    As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
    New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

    In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
    "There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
    And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
    "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

      Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

      As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

      Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

      Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

      Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

      I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

      I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

      What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

      We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

      Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

      Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
