Chapter 23 of EzekielNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And the word of Jehovah proceeded to come to me,1 saying:
  2. “Son of man, two women, the daughters of one mother, there happened to be.2
  3. And they began to prostitute themselves in Egypt.3 In their youth they committed prostitution.4 There their breasts were squeezed,5 and there they pressed the bosoms of their virginity.
  4. And their names were O·hoʹlah[a] the older one[b] and O·holʹi·bah[c] her sister, and they came to be mine6 and began to give birth to sons and daughters.7 And as for their names, O·hoʹlah is Sa·marʹi·a,8 and O·holʹi·bah is Jerusalem.9
  5. ¶ “And O·hoʹlah began to prostitute herself,10 while subject to me, and kept lusting after those passionately loving her,11 after the As·syrʹi·ans,12 who were near,
  6. governors clothed with blue material, and deputy rulers—desirable young men all of them, cavalrymen riding horses.
  7. And she continued giving forth her prostitutions upon them, the choicest sons of As·syrʹi·a all of them; and with all those after whom she lusted—with their dungy idols—she defiled herself.13
  8. And her prostitutions [carried] from Egypt she did not leave, for with her they had lain down in her youth, and they were the ones that pressed the bosoms of her virginity and they kept pouring out their immoral intercourse upon her.14
  9. Therefore I gave her into the hand of those passionately loving her,15 into the hand of the sons of As·syrʹi·a, toward whom she had lusted.16
  10. They were the ones that uncovered her nakedness.17 Her sons and her daughters they took,18 and her they killed even with sword. And she came to be infamy[d] to women, and acts of judgment were what they executed upon her.
  11. ¶ “When her sister O·holʹi·bah got to see [it],19 then she exercised her sensual desire more ruinously than she, and her prostitution more than the fornication[e] of her sister.20
  12. For the sons of As·syrʹi·a she lusted,21 governors and deputy rulers who were near, clothed with perfect taste, cavalrymen riding horses—desirable young men all of them.22
  13. And I got to see that, because she had defiled herself, both of them had one way.23
  14. And she kept adding to her acts of prostitution when she got to see the men in carvings upon the wall,24 images25 of Chal·deʹans carved in vermilion,26
  15. girded with belts27 on their hips, with pendant turbans on their heads, having the appearance of warriors,[f] all of them, the likeness of the sons of Babylon,[g] Chal·deʹans as respects the land of their birth.
  16. And she began to lust after them at the sight of her eyes28 and proceeded to send messengers to them in Chal·deʹa.29
  17. And the sons of Babylon kept coming in to her, to the bed of expressions of love, and defiling her with their immoral intercourse;30 and she continued getting defiled by them, and her soul began to turn away disgusted from them.
  18. ¶ “And she went on uncovering her acts of prostitution and uncovering her nakedness,31 so that my soul turned away disgusted from company with her, just as my soul had turned away disgusted from company with her sister.32
  19. And she kept multiplying her acts of prostitution33 to the point of calling to mind the days of her youth,34 when she prostituted herself in the land of Egypt.35
  20. And she kept lusting in the style of concubines belonging to those whose fleshly member[h] is as the fleshly member of male asses and whose genital organ is as the genital organ of male horses.36
  21. And you continued calling attention to the loose conduct of your youth by the pressing of your bosoms from Egypt37 onward, for the sake[i] of the breasts of your youth.38
  22. ¶ “Therefore, O O·holʹi·bah, this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘Here I am rousing up your passionate lovers against you,39 those from whom your soul has turned away in disgust, and I will bring them in against you on all sides,40
  23. the sons of Babylon41 and all the Chal·deʹans,42 Peʹkod43 and Shoʹa and Koʹa, all the sons of As·syrʹi·a with them, desirable young men, governors and deputy rulers all of them, warriors[j] and summoned ones, riding on horses, all of them.
  24. And they must come in against you with rattling[k] of war chariots and wheels,44 and with a congregation of peoples, with large shield and buckler and helmet. They will set themselves against you all around, and I will give judgment over to them, and they must judge you with their judgments.45
  25. And I will express my ardor against you,46 and they must take action against you in rage.47 Your nose and your ears they will remove, and the remainder of you will fall even by the sword. Your sons and your daughters48 they themselves will take,49 and the remainder of you will be devoured by the fire.50
  26. And they will certainly strip off you your garments51 and take away your beautiful articles.52
  27. And I shall actually cause your loose conduct to cease from you,53 and your prostitution [carried] from the land of Egypt;54 and you will not raise your eyes to them, and Egypt you will remember no more.’
  28. ¶ “For this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘Here I am giving you into the hand of those whom you have hated, into the hand of those from whom your soul has turned away disgusted.55
  29. And they must take action against you in hatred and take away all your product of toil and leave you naked and nude;[l]56 and the nudeness of your acts of fornication and your loose conduct and your acts of prostitution must be uncovered.57
  30. There will be a doing[m] of these things to you because of your going like a prostitute after [the] nations,58 on account of the fact that you defiled yourself with their dungy idols.59
  31. In the way of your sister you have walked;60 and I shall have to give her cup into your hand.’61
  32. ¶ “This is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘The cup of your sister you will drink, the deep and wide one.62 You will become an object of laughter and derision, [the cup] containing much.63
  33. With drunkenness and grief you will be filled, with the cup of astonishment and of desolation, the cup of your sister Sa·marʹi·a.
  34. And you will have to drink it and drain [it] out,64 and its earthenware fragments you will gnaw, and your breasts you will tear out.65 “For I myself have spoken,” is the utterance of the Sovereign Lord Jehovah.’
  35. ¶ “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘For the reason that you have forgotten me66 and you proceeded to cast me behind your back,67 then you yourself also bear your loose conduct and your acts of prostitution.’”
  36. ¶ And Jehovah went on to say to me: “Son of man, will you judge68 O·hoʹlah and O·holʹi·bah69 and tell them their detestable things?70
  37. For they have committed adultery71 and there is blood on their hands,72 and with their dungy idols they have committed adultery.73 And, besides that, their sons whom they had borne to me they made pass through [the fire] to them[n] as food.74
  38. What is more, this is what they have done to me: They have defiled75 my sanctuary76 in that day, and my sabbaths they have profaned.77
  39. And when they had slaughtered their sons to their dungy idols78 they even proceeded to come into my sanctuary on that day to profane it,79 and, look! that is what they have done in the midst of my house.80
  40. And in addition to that, when they began to send to the men[o] coming from far away, to whom there was sent a messenger,81 then, look! they came,82 for whom you had washed yourself,83 painted your eyes84 and decked yourself with ornaments.85
  41. And you sat down upon a glorious couch,86 with a table set in order before it,87 and my incense88 and my oil you put upon it.89
  42. And the sound of a crowd at ease was in her,90 and to the men out of the mass of mankind[p] there were drunkards91 being brought in from the wilderness, and they proceeded to put bracelets on the hands of the women[q] and beautiful crowns upon their heads.92
  43. ¶ “Then I said respecting her who was worn out with adultery,93 ‘Now she will keep on committing her prostitution, even she herself.’94
  44. And they kept on coming in to her, just as one comes in to a woman that is a prostitute; in that manner they came in to O·hoʹlah and to O·holʹi·bah as women of loose conduct.95
  45. But as regards righteous96 men, they are the ones that will judge her[r] with the judgment for adulteresses97 and with the judgment for female shedders of blood;98 for adulteresses are what they are, and there is blood on their hands.99
  46. ¶ “For this is what the Sovereign Lord Jehovah has said, ‘There will be the bringing up of a congregation against them100 and a making[s] of them a frightful object and something to plunder.101
  47. And the congregation must pelt them with stones,102 and there will be a cutting of them down with their swords. Their sons and their daughters they will kill,103 and with fire their houses they will burn.104
  48. And I shall certainly cause loose conduct105 to cease out of the land,106 and all the women will have to let themselves be corrected, so that they will not do according to YOUR[t] loose conduct.107
  49. And they must bring YOUR loose conduct upon YOU,108 and the sins of YOUR dungy idols YOU will bear; and YOU people will have to know that I am the Sovereign Lord Jehovah.’”109

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!

I live in Dover, Delaware. My boyfriend Juan Tover and I have been dating for the past 4 yrs we were to get married in September of this year but it never happened..he constantly messes around with his ex's and other females every time he got caught he apologized and tell me to forgive him and I keep taking him back because I'm truly in love with this man but after a while he started messing around again...what can I do to make this man to love me and stop the messing around so we could get married and start our family? I am very happy I contacted Priest Salami regarding my problem. My boyfriend is now my HUSBAND. We got married 2 weeks ago in the United Church in Dover. My problem was solved. I am extremely happy to put his email purenaturalhealer@gmail.com  to anyone out there looking to solve his/her relationship problem. You can also WhatsApp him with his mobile number +2348105150446
