Chapter 34 of ExodusNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Then Jehovah said to Moses: “Carve out for yourself two tablets of stone like the first ones,1 and I must write upon the tablets the words[a] that appeared on the first tablets,2 which you shattered.3
  2. And get ready for the morning, as you must go up in the morning into Mount Siʹnai and station yourself by me there on the top of the mountain.4
  3. But nobody may go up with you and, too, let nobody else be seen in all the mountain.5 What is more, no flock or herd should be pasturing in front of that mountain.”6
  4. ¶ Accordingly Moses carved out two tablets of stone like the first ones and got up early in the morning and went on up into Mount Siʹnai, just as Jehovah had commanded him, and he was taking the two tablets of stone in his hand.
  5. And Jehovah proceeded to come down7 in the cloud and station himself with him there and declare[b] the name of Jehovah.8
  6. And Jehovah went passing by before his face and declaring:[c] “Jehovah, Jehovah, a God[d] merciful9 and gracious,10 slow to anger11 and abundant in loving-kindness[e]12 and truth,[f]13
  7. preserving loving-kindness for thousands,14 pardoning error and transgression and sin,15 but by no means will he give exemption from punishment,16 bringing punishment for the error of fathers upon sons and upon grandsons, upon the third generation and upon the fourth generation.”[g]17
  8. ¶ Moses at once hurried to bow low to the earth and prostrate himself.18
  9. Then he said: “If, now, I have found favor in your eyes, O Jehovah,[h] let Jehovah,[i] please, go along in the midst of us,19 because it is a stiff-necked people,20 and you have to forgive our error and our sin,21 and you must take us as your possession.”22
  10. In turn he said: “Here I am concluding a covenant: Before all your people I shall do wonderful things that have never been created in all the earth or among all the nations;23 and all the people in the midst of whom you are will indeed see the work of Jehovah, because it is a fear-inspiring thing that I am doing with you.24
  11. ¶ “For your part keep what I am commanding you today.25 Here I am driving out from before you the Amʹor·ites and the Caʹnaan·ites and the Hitʹtites and the Perʹiz·zites and the Hiʹvites and the Jebʹu·sites.26
  12. Watch yourself that you do not conclude a covenant with the inhabitants of the land to which you are going,27 for fear it may prove itself a snare in your midst.28
  13. But their altars YOU people are to pull down, and their sacred pillars YOU are to shatter, and their sacred poles[j] YOU are to cut down.29
  14. For you must not prostrate yourself to another god,[k]30 because Jehovah, whose name is Jealous,[l] he is a jealous God;[m]31
  15. for fear that you may conclude a covenant with the inhabitants of the land, as they will certainly have immoral intercourse[n] with their gods[o]32 and sacrifice to their gods,33 and someone will be certain to invite you, and you will certainly eat some of his sacrifice.34
  16. Then you will have to take some of their[p] daughters for your sons,35 and their daughters will be certain to have immoral intercourse[q] with their gods and make your sons have immoral intercourse with their gods.36
  17. ¶ “You must not make molten idol gods for yourself.37
  18. ¶ “The festival of unfermented cakes you are to keep.38 You will eat unfermented cakes, just as I have commanded you, seven days at the appointed time in the month of Aʹbib,[r]39 because it was in the month of Aʹbib that you came out of Egypt.
  19. ¶ “Everything that first opens the womb is mine,40 and, as regards all your livestock, the male firstling of bull and of sheep.41
  20. And the firstling of an ass you are to redeem with a sheep.42 But if you will not redeem it, then you must break its neck. Every firstborn of your sons you are to redeem.43 And they must not appear before me empty-handed.44
  21. ¶ “Six days you are to labor,[s] but on the seventh day you will keep sabbath.[t]45 In plowing time and in harvest you will keep sabbath.46
  22. ¶ “And you will carry on your festival of weeks[u] with the first ripe fruits of the wheat harvest,47 and the festival of ingathering[v] at the turn of the year.48
  23. ¶ “Three times in the year every male of yours is to appear49 before the [true] Lord, Jehovah,[w] the God of Israel.
  24. For I shall drive the nations away from before you,50 and I will make your territory spacious;51 and nobody will desire your land while you are going up to see the face of Jehovah your God three times in the year.52
  25. ¶ “You must not slaughter along with what is leavened the blood of my sacrifice.53 And the sacrifice of the festival of the passover should not stay overnight until the morning.54
  26. ¶ “The best of the first ripe fruits55 of your soil you are to bring to the house of Jehovah your God.56
¶ “You must not boil a kid in its mother’s milk.”57
  27. ¶ And Jehovah went on to say to Moses: “Write down for yourself these words,58 because it is in accordance with these words that I do conclude a covenant with you and Israel.”59
  28. And he continued there with Jehovah forty days and forty nights. He ate no bread and he drank no water.60 And he[x] proceeded to write upon the tablets the words of the covenant, the Ten Words.[y]61
  29. ¶ Now it came about when Moses came down from Mount Siʹnai that the two tablets of the Testimony were in the hand of Moses when he came down from the mountain,62 and Moses did not know that the skin of his face emitted rays because of his having spoken with him.63
  30. When Aaron and all the sons of Israel got to see Moses, why, look! the skin of his face emitted rays and they grew afraid of coming near to him.64
  31. ¶ And Moses proceeded to call them. So Aaron and all the chieftains[z] among the assembly came back to him, and Moses began to speak to them.
  32. First after that all the sons of Israel came near to him, and he began commanding them all that Jehovah had spoken with him on Mount Siʹnai.65
  33. When Moses would finish speaking with them, he would put a veil over his face.66
  34. But when Moses would go in before Jehovah to speak with him, he would take away the veil until his going out.67 And he went out and spoke to the sons of Israel what he would be commanded.68
  35. And the sons of Israel saw Moses’ face, that the skin of Moses’ face emitted rays;69 and Moses put the veil back over his face until he went in to speak with him.70

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
