Chapter 32 of ExodusNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Meanwhile the people got to see that Moses was taking a long time about coming down from the mountain.1 So the people congregated themselves about Aaron and said to him: “Get up, make for us a god[a] who will go ahead of us,2 because as regards this Moses, the man who led us up out of the land of Egypt,3 we certainly do not know what has happened to him.”
  2. At this Aaron said to them: “Tear off the gold earrings4 that are in the ears of YOUR wives, of YOUR sons and of YOUR daughters and bring them to me.”
  3. And all the people began tearing off the gold earrings that were in their ears and bringing them to Aaron.
  4. Then he took [the gold][b] from their hands, and he formed it5 with a graving tool and proceeded to make it into a molten statue of a calf.6 And they[c] began to say: “This is your God,[d] O Israel, who led you up out of the land of Egypt.”7
  5. ¶ When Aaron got to see this, he went to building an altar before it. Finally Aaron called out and said: “There is a festival to Jehovah tomorrow.”
  6. So on the next day they were early in rising, and they began offering up burnt offerings and presenting communion sacrifices. After that the people sat down to eat and drink. Then they got up to have a good time.8
  7. ¶ Jehovah now said to Moses: “Go, descend, because your people whom you led up out of the land of Egypt have acted ruinously.9
  8. They have turned aside in a hurry from the way I have commanded them to go.10 They have made a molten statue of a calf for themselves and keep bowing down to it and sacrificing to it and saying, ‘This is your God,[e] O Israel, who led you up out of the land of Egypt.’”11
  9. And Jehovah went on to say to Moses: “I have looked at this people and here it is a stiff-necked people.12
  10. So now let me be, that my anger may blaze against them and I may exterminate them,13 and let me make you into a great nation.”14
  11. ¶ And Moses proceeded to soften the face of Jehovah his God15 and to say: “Why, O Jehovah, should your anger16 blaze against your people whom you brought out of the land of Egypt with great power and with a strong hand?
  12. Why should the Egyptians17 say, ‘With evil intent he brought them out in order to kill them among the mountains and to exterminate them from the surface of the ground’?18 Turn from your burning anger19 and feel regret20 over the evil against your people.
  13. Remember Abraham, Isaac and Israel your servants, to whom you swore by yourself,21 in that you said to them, ‘I shall multiply YOUR seed[f] like the stars of the heavens,22 and all this land that I have designated I shall give to YOUR seed,23 that they may indeed take possession of it to time indefinite.’”24
  14. ¶ And Jehovah began to feel regret over the evil that he had spoken of doing to his people.25
  15. ¶ After that Moses turned and went down from the mountain26 with the two tablets of the Testimony27 in his hand, tablets written upon on both their sides. On this side and on that they were written upon.
  16. And the tablets were the workmanship of God, and the writing was the writing of God engraved upon the tablets.28
  17. And Joshua[g] began to hear the noise of the people because of their shouting, and he proceeded to say to Moses: “There is a noise of battle29 in the camp.”
  18. But he said:
¶ “It is not the sound of the singing over mighty performance,30
      And it is not the sound of the singing of defeat;
It is the sound of other singing that I am hearing.”
  19. ¶ So it came about that as soon as he got near the camp and could see the calf31 and the dances, Moses’ anger began to blaze, and he at once threw the tablets from his hands and shattered them at the foot of the mountain.32
  20. Then he took the calf that they had made and he burnt it with fire and crushed it till it was fine,33 after which he scattered it upon the surface of the waters34 and made the sons of Israel drink it.35
  21. After that Moses said to Aaron: “What did this people do to you that you have brought a great sin upon it?”
  22. To this Aaron said: “Do not let the anger of my lord blaze. You yourself well know the people, that they are evil-inclined.36
  23. So they said to me, ‘Make for us a god[h] who will go ahead of us,37 because as regards this Moses, the man who led us up out of the land of Egypt, we certainly do not know what has happened to him.’
  24. Hence I said to them, ‘Who have any gold? They must tear it off themselves that they may give it to me.’ And I proceeded to throw it into the fire and this calf came on out.”
  25. ¶ And Moses got to see that the people went unrestrained, because Aaron had let them go unrestrained38 for a disgrace among their opposers.39
  26. Then Moses took his stand in the gate of the camp and said: “Who is on Jehovah’s side?[i] To me!”40 And all the sons of Leʹvi began gathering themselves to him.
  27. He now said to them: “This is what Jehovah the God of Israel has said, ‘Put each one of YOU his sword on his side. Pass through and return from gate to gate in the camp and kill each one his brother and each one his fellow and each one his intimate acquaintance.’”41
  28. And the sons of Leʹvi42 proceeded to do as Moses had said, so that there fell of the people on that day about three[j] thousand men.
  29. And Moses went on to say: “Fill YOUR hand today with power[k] for Jehovah,43 because each one of YOU is against his own son and his own brother,44 and that he may confer a blessing upon YOU today.”45
  30. ¶ And it came about on the very next day that Moses proceeded to say to the people: “YOU—YOU have sinned with a great sin,46 and now I shall go up to Jehovah. Perhaps I can make amends for YOUR sin.”47
  31. So Moses returned to Jehovah and said: “Ah, but this people has sinned with a great sin, in that they made a god[l] of gold for themselves!48
  32. But now if you will pardon their sin,49—and if not, wipe me out,50 please, from your book51 that you have written.”
  33. However, Jehovah said to Moses: “Whoever has sinned against me, I shall wipe him out of my book.52
  34. And now, come, lead the people to where I have spoken to you of. Look! My angel will go ahead of you,53 and on the day of my bringing punishment I shall certainly bring punishment upon them for their sin.”54
  35. And Jehovah began plaguing the people because they had made the calf, which Aaron had made.55

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
