Chapter 2 of DeuteronomyNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ “Then we turned and pulled away for the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea, just as Jehovah had spoken to me;1 and we were many days in going around Mount Seʹir.
  2. Finally Jehovah said this to me,
  3. ‘YOU have gone around this mountain long enough.2 Change YOUR direction to the north.
  4. And command the people, saying: “YOU are passing along by the border of YOUR brothers,3 the sons of Eʹsau,4 who are dwelling in Seʹir;5 and they will be afraid because of YOU,6 and YOU must be very careful.
  5. Do not engage in strife with them, because I shall not give YOU of their land so much as the width of the sole of the foot; because I have given Mount Seʹir to Eʹsau as a holding.7
  6. What food YOU may buy from them for money, YOU must eat; and also what water YOU may purchase from them for money, YOU must drink.8
  7. For Jehovah your God has blessed you in every deed of your hand.9 He well knows of your walking through this great wilderness. These forty10 years Jehovah your God has been with you. You have not lacked a thing.”’11
  8. So we passed on away from our brothers, the sons of Eʹsau,12 who are dwelling in Seʹir, from the way of the Arʹa·bah,13 from Eʹlath and from Eʹzi·on-geʹber.14
¶ “Next we turned and passed on by the way of the wilderness of Moʹab.15
  9. Jehovah then said to me, ‘Do not molest Moʹab or engage in war with them, because I shall not give you any of his land as a holding, for to the sons of Lot16 I have given Ar17 as a holding.
  10. (The Eʹmim[a]18 dwelt in it in former times, a people great and numerous and tall like the Anʹa·kim.19
  11. As for the Rephʹa·im,20 they also were considered like the Anʹa·kim,21 and the Moʹab·ites used to call them Eʹmim.
  12. And the Horʹites22 dwelt in Seʹir in former times, and the sons of Eʹsau23 proceeded to dispossess them and to annihilate them from before them and to dwell in their place,24 just the same as Israel must do to the land that is his holding, which Jehovah will certainly give to them.)
  13. At this time rise and make YOUR way across the torrent valley of Zeʹred.’ Accordingly we went crossing the torrent valley of Zeʹred.25
  14. And the days that we walked from Kaʹdesh-barʹne·a until we crossed the torrent valley of Zeʹred were thirty-eight years, until all the generation of the men of war had come to their end from the midst of the camp, just as Jehovah had sworn to them.26
  15. And the hand27 of Jehovah also proved to be upon them to disquiet them out of the midst of the camp, until they came to their end.28
  16. ¶ “And it came about that as soon as all the men of war had finished dying off from the midst of the people,29
  17. Jehovah spoke further to me, saying,
  18. ‘You are passing today by the territory of Moʹab, that is, Ar,30
  19. and you must get close in front of the sons of Amʹmon. Do not molest them or engage in strife with them, because I shall not give you any of the land of the sons of Amʹmon as a holding, for it is to the sons of Lot that I have given it as a holding.31
  20. As the land of the Rephʹa·im32 it also used to be considered. (The Rephʹa·im dwelt in it in former times, and the Amʹmon·ites used to call them Zam·zumʹmim.
  21. They were a great and numerous and tall people like the Anʹa·kim;33 and Jehovah went annihilating34 them from before them, that they might dispossess them and dwell in their place;
  22. just the same as he did for the sons of Eʹsau, who are dwelling in Seʹir,35 when he annihilated the Horʹites36 from before them, that they might dispossess them and dwell in their place until this day.
  23. As for the Avʹvim,37 who were dwelling in settlements as far as Gaʹza,38 the Caphʹto·rim,39 who came out from Caphʹtor,40 annihilated them, that they might dwell in their place.)
  24. ¶ “‘GET up, pull away and cross the torrent valley of Arʹnon.41 See, I have given into your hand Siʹhon42 the king of Heshʹbon, the Amʹor·ite. So start to take possession of his land, and engage in war with him.
  25. This day I shall start to put the dread of you and the fear of you before the peoples beneath all the heavens, who will hear the report about you; and they will indeed be agitated and have pains like those of childbirth because of you.’43
  26. ¶ “Then I sent messengers from the wilderness of Kedʹe·moth44 to Siʹhon45 the king of Heshʹbon with words of peace,46 saying,
  27. ‘Let me pass through your land. Only on the road[b] I shall walk. I shall not turn to the right or to the left.47
  28. What food you will sell me for money, I must eat; and what water you will give me for money, I must drink. Only let me pass through on my feet,48
  29. just the same as the sons of Eʹsau dwelling in Seʹir49 and the Moʹab·ites50 dwelling in Ar did to me, until I shall pass over the Jordan into the land that Jehovah our God is giving to us.’51
  30. And Siʹhon the king of Heshʹbon did not let us pass through him, because Jehovah your God had let his spirit become obstinate52 and his heart become hard, in order to give him into your hand just as at this day.53
  31. ¶ “At this Jehovah said to me, ‘See, I have started to abandon Siʹhon and his land to you. Start to take possession of his land.’54
  32. When Siʹhon came on out, he and all his people, to meet us in battle at Jaʹhaz,55
  33. then Jehovah our God abandoned him to us,56 so that we defeated him57 and his sons[c] and all his people.
  34. And we went capturing all his cities at that particular time and devoting every city to destruction,58 men and women and little children. We left no survivor.
  35. Only the domestic animals did we take as plunder for ourselves, together with the spoil of the cities that we had captured.59
  36. From A·roʹer,60 which is by the bank of the torrent valley of Arʹnon, and the city that is in the torrent valley, as far as Gilʹe·ad, there proved to be no town that was too high up for us.61 Jehovah our God abandoned them all to us.
  37. Only you did not go near the land of the sons of Amʹmon,62 the whole bank of the torrent valley of Jabʹbok,63 nor the cities of the mountainous region, nor anything about which Jehovah our God had given command.

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
