Chapter 7 of DanielNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ In the first year of Bel·shazʹzar[a]1 the king of Babylon,[b] Daniel himself beheld a dream and visions of his head upon his bed.2 At that time he wrote down the dream itself.3 The complete account of the matters he told.
  2. Daniel was speaking up and saying:
¶ “I happened to be beholding in my visions during the night, and, see there! the four winds[c]4 of the heavens were stirring up the vast sea.5
  3. And four huge beasts6 were coming up out of the sea,7 each one being different8 from the others.
  4. ¶ “The first one was like a lion,9 and it had the wings of an eagle.10 I kept on beholding until its wings were plucked out, and it was lifted up from the earth11 and was made to stand up on two feet just like a man, and there was given to it the heart of a man.12
  5. ¶ “And, see there! another beast, a second one, it being like a bear.13 And on one side it was raised up,14 and there were three ribs in its mouth between its teeth; and this is what they were saying to it, ‘Get up, eat much flesh.’15
  6. ¶ “After this I kept on beholding, and, see there! another [beast],[d] one like a leopard,16 but it had four wings of a flying creature on its back.[e] And the beast had four heads,17 and there was given to it rulership indeed.
  7. ¶ “After this I kept on beholding in the visions of the night, and, see there! a fourth beast, fearsome and terrible and unusually strong.18 And it had teeth of iron, big ones. It was devouring and crushing, and what was left it was treading down with its feet. And it was something different from all the [other] beasts that were prior to it, and it had ten horns.19
  8. I kept on considering the horns, and, look! another horn, a small one,20 came up in among them, and there were three of the first horns that were plucked up from before it. And, look! there were eyes like the eyes of a man in this horn, and there was a mouth speaking grandiose things.21
  9. ¶ “I kept on beholding until there were thrones[f] placed22 and the Ancient of Days[g]23 sat down. His clothing was white just like snow,24 and the hair of his head was like clean wool.25 His throne was flames of fire;26 its wheels were a burning fire.27
  10. There was a stream of fire flowing and going out from before him.28 There were a thousand thousands that kept ministering to him,[h]29 and ten thousand times ten thousand that kept standing right before him.30 The Court[i]31 took its seat, and there were books that were opened.
  11. ¶ “I kept on beholding at that time because of the sound of the grandiose words that the horn was speaking;32 I kept on beholding until the beast was killed and its body was destroyed and it was given to the burning fire.33
  12. But as for the rest of the beasts,34 their rulerships were taken away, and there was a lengthening in life given to them for a time and a season.[j]35
  13. ¶ “I kept on beholding in the visions of the night, and, see there! with the clouds36 of the heavens someone like a son of man[k]37 happened to be coming; and to the Ancient of Days38 he gained access, and they brought him up close even before that One.39
  14. And to him there were given rulership40 and dignity41 and kingdom,[l]42 that the peoples, national groups and languages should all serve even him.43 His rulership is an indefinitely lasting rulership that will not pass away, and his kingdom one that will not be brought to ruin.44
  15. ¶ “As for me, Daniel, my spirit[m] was distressed within on account of it, and the very visions of my head began to frighten me.45
  16. I went up close to one of those who were standing, that I might request from him reliable information on all this.46 And he said to me, as he went on to make known to me the very interpretation of the matters,
  17. ¶ “‘As for these huge beasts, because they are four,47 there are four kings that will stand up from the earth.48
  18. But the holy ones49 of the Supreme One[n]50 will receive the kingdom, and they will take possession of the kingdom51 for time indefinite, even for time indefinite upon times indefinite.’
  19. ¶ “Then it was that I desired to make certain concerning the fourth beast, which proved to be different from all the others, extraordinarily fearsome, the teeth of which were of iron and the claws of which were of copper, which was devouring [and] crushing, and which was treading down even what was left with its feet;52
  20. and concerning the ten horns that were on its head,53 and the other [horn]54 that came up and before which[o] three fell,55 even that horn that had eyes and a mouth speaking grandiose things56 and the appearance of which was bigger than that of its fellows.
  21. ¶ “I kept on beholding when that very horn made war upon the holy ones, and it was prevailing against them,57
  22. until the Ancient of Days58 came and judgment itself was given in favor of the holy ones of the Supreme One,59 and the definite time arrived that the holy ones took possession of the kingdom itself.60
  23. ¶ “This is what he said, ‘As for the fourth beast, there is a fourth kingdom that will come to be on the earth, that will be different from all the [other] kingdoms; and it will devour all the earth and will trample it down and crush it.61
  24. And as for the ten horns, out of that kingdom there are ten kings that will rise up;62 and still another one will rise up after them, and he himself will be different from the first ones,63 and three kings he will humiliate.64
  25. And he will speak even words against the Most High,[p]65 and he will harass continually[q] the holy ones themselves of the Supreme One.[r]66 And he will intend to change times[s]67 and law,68 and they[t] will be given into his hand for a time, and times and half a time.[u]69
  26. And the Court[v] itself proceeded to sit,70 and his own rulership they finally took away, in order to annihilate [him] and to destroy [him] totally.[w]71
  27. ¶ “‘And the kingdom and the rulership and the grandeur of the kingdoms under all the heavens were given to the people who are the holy ones of the Supreme One.[x]72 Their[y] kingdom is an indefinitely lasting kingdom,73 and all the rulerships will serve and obey even them.’74
  28. ¶ “Up to this point is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my own thoughts kept frightening me a great deal, so that my very complexion changed in me; but the matter itself I kept in my own heart.”[z]75

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
