Chapter 10 of DanielNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ In the third year of Cyrus[a]1 the king of Persia there was a matter revealed to Daniel, whose name was called Bel·te·shazʹzar;2 and the matter was true,[b] and there was a great military service.3 And he understood the matter, and he had understanding in the thing seen.4
  2. ¶ In those days I myself, Daniel, happened to be mourning5 for three full weeks.[c]
  3. Dainty bread I did not eat, and no flesh or wine entered into my mouth, and in no way did I grease myself until the completing of the three full weeks.6
  4. And on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, while I myself happened to be on the bank of the great river, that is, Hidʹde·kel,[d]7
  5. I also proceeded to raise my eyes and see, and here was a certain man[e] clothed in linen,8 with his hips9 girded with gold[f] of Uʹphaz.[g]10
  6. And his body was like chrysʹo·lite,11 and his face like the appearance of lightning,12 and his eyes like fiery torches,13 and his arms and the place of his feet were like the sight of burnished copper,14 and the sound of his words was like the sound of a crowd.
  7. And I saw, I Daniel by myself, the appearance; but as for the men[h] that happened to be with me, they did not see the appearance.15 However, there was a great trembling that fell upon them, so that they went running away in hiding themselves.
  8. ¶ And I—I was left remaining by myself, so that I saw this great appearance. And there was left remaining in me no power, and my own dignity became changed upon me to ruination, and I retained no power.16
  9. And I began hearing the sound of his words; and while I was hearing the sound of his words, I myself also happened to be fast asleep17 upon my face, with my face to the earth.18
  10. And, look! there was a hand that touched me,19 and it gradually stirred me up to [get] upon my knees and the palms of my hands.
  11. And he proceeded to say to me:
¶ “O Daniel, you very desirable man,[i]20 have understanding in the words that I am speaking to you,21 and stand up where you were standing, for now I have been sent to you.”
¶ And when he spoke with me this word, I did stand up, shivering.
  12. ¶ And he went on to say to me: “Do not be afraid,22 O Daniel, for from the first day that you gave your heart to understanding23 and humbling yourself before your God[j]24 your words have been heard, and I myself have come because of your words.25
  13. But the prince[k]26 of the royal realm of Persia27 was standing in opposition28 to me for twenty-one days, and, look! Miʹcha·el,[l]29 one of the foremost[m] princes,30 came to help me; and I, for my part, remained[n] there beside the kings of Persia.31
  14. And I have come to cause you to discern what will befall your people32 in the final part of the days,33 because it is a vision34 yet for the days [to come].”35
  15. ¶ Now when he spoke with me words like these, I had set my face to the earth36 and had become speechless.
  16. And, look! one similar to the likeness of the sons of mankind[o] was touching my lips,37 and I began to open my mouth and speak38 and say to the one who was standing in front of me: “O my lord,[p]39 because of the appearance my convulsions were turned within me, and I did not retain any power.40
  17. So how was the servant of this my lord able to speak with this my lord?41 And as for me, up to now there kept standing in me no power, and no breath at all was left remaining in me.”42
  18. ¶ And the one like the appearance of an earthling man[q] proceeded to touch me again and strengthen me.43
  19. Then he said: “Do not be afraid,44 O very desirable man.[r]45 May you have peace.46 Be strong, yes, be strong.”47 And as soon as he spoke with me I exerted my strength and finally said: “Let my lord speak,48 because you have strengthened me.”49
  20. So he went on to say:
¶ “Do you really know why I have come to you? And now I shall go back to fight with the prince[s] of Persia.50 When I am going forth, look! also the prince of Greece[t] is coming.51
  21. However, I shall tell you the things noted down in the writing of truth,52 and there is no one holding strongly with me in these [things] but Miʹcha·el,[u]53 the prince of YOU people.54

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
