Chapter 3 of ColossiansNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ If, however, YOU were raised up1 with the Christ, go on seeking the things above,2 where the Christ is seated at the right hand of God.3
  2. Keep YOUR minds fixed on the things above,4 not on the things upon the earth.5
  3. For YOU died,6 and YOUR life7 has been hidden with the Christ in union8 with God.
  4. When the Christ, our life,9 is made manifest, then YOU also will be made manifest10 with him in glory.11
  5. ¶ Deaden,12 therefore, YOUR body members13 that are upon the earth as respects fornication,[a] uncleanness,[b] sexual appetite,[c]14 hurtful desire, and covetousness,15 which is idolatry.
  6. On account of those things the wrath of God is coming.16
  7. In those very things YOU, too, once walked when YOU used to live in them.17
  8. But now really put them all away from YOU,18 wrath, anger, badness, abusive speech,[d]19 and obscene20 talk out of YOUR mouth.
  9. Do not be lying to one another.21 Strip off the old personality[e]22 with its practices,
  10. and clothe yourselves with the new23 [personality], which through[f] accurate knowledge is being made new according to the image24 of the One who created it,
  11. where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, foreigner, Scythʹi·an, slave, freeman,25 but Christ is all things and in all.26
  12. ¶ Accordingly, as God’s chosen ones,27 holy and loved, clothe yourselves with the tender affections of compassion,28 kindness, lowliness of mind,[g]29 mildness,30 and long-suffering.31
  13. Continue putting up with one another and forgiving one another freely32 if anyone has a cause for complaint33 against another. Even as Jehovah[h] freely forgave YOU,34 so do YOU also.
  14. But, besides all these things, [clothe yourselves with] love,35 for it is a perfect bond36 of union.[i]
  15. ¶ Also, let the peace37 of the Christ[j] control in YOUR hearts,38 for YOU were, in fact, called to it in one[k] body.39 And show yourselves thankful.
  16. Let the word of the Christ[l] reside in YOU richly in all wisdom.40 Keep on teaching41 and admonishing one another with psalms,42 praises to God,[m] spiritual songs43 with graciousness, singing in YOUR hearts to Jehovah.[n]44
  17. And whatever it is that YOU do in word or in work,45 do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus,46 thanking47 God the Father through him.
  18. ¶ YOU wives, be in subjection48 to [your] husbands, as it is becoming in [the] Lord.
  19. YOU husbands, keep on loving [your] wives49 and do not be bitterly angry with them.50
  20. YOU children, be obedient51 to [your] parents in everything, for this is well-pleasing in [the] Lord.
  21. YOU fathers, do not be exasperating your children,52 so that they do not become downhearted.
  22. YOU slaves, be obedient in everything to those who are [your] masters in a fleshly sense,53 not with acts of eye-service, as men pleasers,54 but with sincerity of heart, with fear of Jehovah.[o]55
  23. Whatever YOU are doing, work at it whole-souled56 as to Jehovah,[p]57 and not to men,
  24. for YOU know that it is from Jehovah[q]58 YOU will receive the due reward of the inheritance.59 SLAVE for the Master, Christ.60
  25. Certainly the one that is doing wrong will receive back61 what he wrongly did, and there is no partiality.62

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.
