Chapter 6 of 2 SamuelNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And David proceeded again to gather all the choice men in Israel,1 thirty thousand.
  2. Then David and all the people that were with him rose up and went to Baʹal·e-juʹdah2 to bring up from there the ark3 of the [true] God, where a name is called on, the name4 of Jehovah of armies,5 sitting on the cherubs.6
  3. However, they had the ark of the [true] God ride upon a new wagon,7 that they might carry it from the house of A·binʹa·dab,8 which was on the hill; and Uzʹzah and A·hiʹo,9 the sons of A·binʹa·dab, were leading the new wagon.
  4. ¶ So they carried it from A·binʹa·dab’s house, which was on the hill—with the ark of the [true] God; and A·hiʹo was walking ahead of the Ark.
  5. And David and all the house of Israel were celebrating before Jehovah with all sorts of instruments of juniper wood and with harps10 and with stringed instruments11 and with tambourines12 and with sistrums[a] and with cymbals.13
  6. And they came gradually as far as the threshing floor of Naʹcon,[b] and Uzʹzah14 now thrust [his hand] out to the ark of the [true] God and grabbed hold of it,15 for the cattle nearly caused an upset.
  7. At that Jehovah’s anger16 blazed against Uzʹzah and the [true] God struck him down17 there for the irreverent act, so that he died there close by the ark of the [true] God.18
  8. And David became angry over the fact that Jehovah had broken through in a rupture against Uzʹzah, and that place came to be called Peʹrez-uzʹzah[c] down to this day.19
  9. And David became afraid of Jehovah20 on that day and began to say: “How will the ark of Jehovah come to me?”21
  10. And David was not willing to remove the ark of Jehovah to him at the City of David.22 So David had it carried aside to the house of Oʹbed-eʹdom23 the Gitʹtite.24
  11. ¶ And the ark of Jehovah kept dwelling at the house of Oʹbed-eʹdom the Gitʹtite three months; and Jehovah kept blessing25 Oʹbed-eʹdom and all his household.26
  12. Finally the report was made to King David, saying: “Jehovah has blessed the house of Oʹbed-eʹdom and all that is his on account of the ark of the [true] God.” At that David proceeded to go and bring the ark of the [true] God out of the house of Oʹbed-eʹdom up to the City of David with rejoicing.27
  13. And it came about that when the carriers28 of the ark of Jehovah had marched six steps, he immediately sacrificed a bull and a fatling.29
  14. ¶ And David was dancing around before Jehovah with all his power, all the while David being girded with an ephʹod30 of linen.
  15. And David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark31 of Jehovah with joyful shouting32 and sound of horn.33
  16. And it occurred that when the ark of Jehovah came into the City of David, Miʹchal,34 Saul’s daughter, herself looked down through the window and got to see King David leaping and dancing around before Jehovah; and she began to despise35 him in her heart.36
  17. So they brought the ark of Jehovah in and set it in its place inside the tent that David had pitched for it;37 after which David offered up burnt sacrifices38 and communion sacrifices39 before Jehovah.
  18. When David was finished with offering up the burnt sacrifices and the communion sacrifices, he then blessed40 the people in the name of Jehovah41 of armies.
  19. Further, he apportioned42 to all the people, to the whole crowd of Israel, man as well as woman, to each one a ring-shaped cake of bread and a date cake and a raisin cake,43 after which all the people went each to his own house.
  20. ¶ David now returned to bless his own household,44 and Miʹchal,45 Saul’s daughter, came on out to meet David and then said: “How glorious the king of Israel made himself today46 when he uncovered himself today to the eyes of the slave girls of his servants, just as one of the empty-headed men[d] uncovers himself outright!”47
  21. At this David said to Miʹchal: “It was before Jehovah, who[e] chose me rather than your father and all his household to put me in command48 as leader over Jehovah’s people Israel, and I will celebrate before Jehovah.49
  22. And I will make myself even more lightly esteemed than this,50 and I will become low in my[f] eyes; and with the slave girls whom you mentioned, with them I am determined to glorify myself.”51
  23. So, as regards Miʹchal,52 Saul’s daughter, she came to have no child down to the day of her death.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.
