Chapter 19 of 2 KingsNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And it came about that as soon as King Hez·e·kiʹah1 heard, he immediately ripped his garments apart2 and covered himself with sackcloth3 and came into the house of Jehovah.4
  2. Further, he sent E·liʹa·kim,5 who was over the household, and Shebʹnah6 the secretary and the older men of the priests covered with sackcloth to Isaiah[a]7 the prophet the son of Aʹmoz.8
  3. And they proceeded to say to him: “This is what Hez·e·kiʹah has said, ‘This day is a day of distress9 and of rebuke10 and of scornful insolence;11 for the sons have come as far as the womb’s mouth,12 and there is no power to give birth.13
  4. Perhaps Jehovah your God will hear14 all the words of Rabʹsha·keh, whom the king of As·syrʹi·a his lord sent to taunt15 the living God, and he will actually call him to account for the words that Jehovah your God has heard.16 And you must lift up prayer17 in behalf of the remnant18 that are to be found.’”
  5. ¶ So the servants of King Hez·e·kiʹah came in to Isaiah.19
  6. Then Isaiah said to them: “This is what YOU should say to YOUR lord, ‘This is what Jehovah has said:20 “Do not be afraid21 because of the words that you have heard with which the attendants22 of the king of As·syrʹi·a spoke abusively of me.
  7. Here I am putting a spirit23 in him, and he must hear a report24 and return to his own land; and I shall certainly cause him to fall by the sword in his own land.”’”25
  8. ¶ After that Rabʹsha·keh26 returned and found the king of As·syrʹi·a fighting against Libʹnah;27 for he had heard that he had pulled away from Laʹchish.28
  9. He heard it said respecting Tir·haʹkah the king of E·thi·oʹpi·a:[b] “Here he has come out to fight against you.” Therefore he sent messengers29 again to Hez·e·kiʹah, saying:
  10. “This is what YOU men should say to Hez·e·kiʹah the king of Judah, ‘Do not let your God in whom you are trusting deceive you,30 saying: “Jerusalem31 will not be given into the hand of the king of As·syrʹi·a.”32
  11. Look! You yourself have heard what the kings of As·syrʹi·a did to all the lands by devoting them to destruction;33 and will you yourself be delivered?34
  12. Have the gods35 of the nations that my forefathers brought to ruin delivered them, even Goʹzan36 and Haʹran37 and Reʹzeph and the sons of Eʹden38 that were in Tel-asʹsar?39
  13. Where is he—the king of Haʹmath40 and the king of Arʹpad41 and the king of the cities of Seph·ar·vaʹim, Heʹna and Ivʹvah?’”42
  14. ¶ Then Hez·e·kiʹah took the letters out of the hand of the messengers and read them,43 after which Hez·e·kiʹah went up to the house of Jehovah and spread it out before Jehovah.44
  15. And Hez·e·kiʹah began to pray45 before Jehovah and say: “O Jehovah the God of Israel,46 sitting upon the cherubs,47 you alone are the [true] God of all the kingdoms48 of the earth.49 You yourself have made the heavens50 and the earth.51
  16. Incline your ear, O Jehovah, and hear.52 Open your eyes,53 O Jehovah, and see, and hear the words of Sen·nachʹer·ib that he has sent to taunt54 the living God.[c]
  17. It is a fact, O Jehovah, the kings of As·syrʹi·a have devastated the nations and their land.55
  18. And they have consigned their gods to the fire, because they were no gods,[d]56 but the workmanship of man’s hands,57 wood and stone; so that they destroyed them.
  19. And now, O Jehovah our God,58 save us,59 please, out of his hand, that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you, O Jehovah, are God alone.”60
  20. ¶ And Isaiah the son of Aʹmoz proceeded to send to Hez·e·kiʹah, saying: “This is what Jehovah the God of Israel has said,61 ‘The prayer62 that you have made to me concerning Sen·nachʹer·ib the king of As·syrʹi·a I have heard.63
  21. This is the word that Jehovah has spoken against him:
¶ “The virgin daughter of Zion has despised you,64 she has held you in derision.65
Behind you the daughter of Jerusalem66 has wagged her head.67
  22. ¶ Whom have you taunted68 and spoken of abusively?69
And against whom have you lifted up your voice70
¶ And do you raise your eyes on high?71
It is against the Holy One of Israel!72
  23. ¶ By means of your messengers73 you have taunted Jehovah[e] and you say,74
‘With the multitude[f] of my war chariots I myself75
¶ I shall certainly ascend the height of mountainous regions,76
      The remotest parts of Lebʹa·non;77
¶ And I shall cut down its lofty cedars,78 its choice juniper trees.79
And I will enter its final lodging place, the forest of its orchard.80
  24. ¶ I myself shall certainly dig and drink strange waters,
And I shall dry up with the soles of my feet all the Nile canals of Egypt.’81
  25. ¶ Have you not heard?82 From remote times it is what I will do.83
From bygone days I have even formed it.84
    ¶ Now I will bring it in.85
And you will serve to make fortified cities desolate as piles of ruins.86
  26. ¶ And their inhabitants will be feeble-handed;87
They will simply be terrified and will be ashamed.88
¶ They must become as vegetation of the field and green tender grass,89
Grass of the roofs,90 when there is a scorching before the east wind.91
  27. ¶ And your sitting quiet and your going out92 and your coming in I well know,93
And your exciting yourself against me,94
  28. ¶ Because your exciting yourself against me95 and your roaring have come up into my ears.96
And I shall certainly put my hook in your nose and my bridle between your lips,97
And I shall indeed lead you back by the way by which you have come.”98
  29. ¶ “‘And this will be the sign for you:99 There will be an eating[g] this year of the growth from spilled kernels,100 and in the second year grain that shoots up of itself; but in the third year sow seed,101 you people, and reap and plant vineyards and eat their fruitage.102
  30. And those who escape of the house of Judah, those who are left,103 will certainly take root downward and produce fruitage upward.104
  31. For out of Jerusalem a remnant will go forth,105 and those who escape from Mount Zion.106 The very zeal107 of Jehovah of armies[h] will do this.
  32. ¶ “‘That is why this is what Jehovah has said concerning the king of As·syrʹi·a:108 “He will not come into this city109 nor will he shoot an arrow110 there nor confront it with a shield nor cast up a siege rampart111 against it.
  33. By the way by which he proceeded to come, he will return, and into this city he will not come, is the utterance of Jehovah.112
  34. And I shall certainly defend113 this city to save it for my own114 sake and for the sake of David my servant.”’”115
  35. ¶ And it came about on that night that the angel of Jehovah proceeded to go out and strike down a hundred and eighty-five thousand in the camp116 of the As·syrʹi·ans.117 When people rose up early in the morning, why, there all of them were dead carcasses.118
  36. Therefore Sen·nachʹer·ib119 the king of As·syrʹi·a pulled away and went and returned,120 and he took up dwelling in Ninʹe·veh.121
  37. And it came about that as he was bowing down at the house of Nisʹroch122 his god,[i]123 A·dramʹme·lech and Shar·eʹzer, his sons,[j] themselves struck him down with the sword,124 and they themselves escaped to the land of Arʹa·rat.[k]125 And Eʹsar-hadʹdon126 his son began to reign in place of him.

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!

I live in Dover, Delaware. My boyfriend Juan Tover and I have been dating for the past 4 yrs we were to get married in September of this year but it never happened..he constantly messes around with his ex's and other females every time he got caught he apologized and tell me to forgive him and I keep taking him back because I'm truly in love with this man but after a while he started messing around again...what can I do to make this man to love me and stop the messing around so we could get married and start our family? I am very happy I contacted Priest Salami regarding my problem. My boyfriend is now my HUSBAND. We got married 2 weeks ago in the United Church in Dover. My problem was solved. I am extremely happy to put his email purenaturalhealer@gmail.com  to anyone out there looking to solve his/her relationship problem. You can also WhatsApp him with his mobile number +2348105150446
