Chapter 11 of 2 KingsNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Now as regards Ath·a·liʹah1 the mother of A·ha·ziʹah,2 she saw that her son had died. So she rose up and destroyed all the offspring of the kingdom.3
  2. However, Je·hoshʹe·ba4 the daughter of King Je·hoʹram, the sister of A·ha·ziʹah, took Je·hoʹash[a]5 the son of A·ha·ziʹah and stole him from among the sons of the king that were to be put to death, even him and his nursing woman, into the inner room for the couches, and they[b] kept him concealed6 from the face of Ath·a·liʹah, and he was not put to death.
  3. And he continued with her at the house of Jehovah in hiding for six years, while Ath·a·liʹah was reigning over the land.7
  4. ¶ And in the seventh year Je·hoiʹa·da8 sent and then took the chiefs of hundreds of the Caʹri·an9 bodyguard and of the runners10 and brought them to himself at the house of Jehovah and concluded a covenant11 with them and made them swear12 at the house of Jehovah, after which he showed them the son of the king.
  5. And he went on to command them, saying: “This is the thing that YOU will do: One third of YOU are coming in on the sabbath and keeping strict watch over the king’s house;13
  6. and one third will be at the Gate14 of the Foundation,[c] and one third will be at the gate behind the runners; and YOU must keep strict watch over the house15 by turns.
  7. And there are two divisions among YOU that are all going out on the sabbath, and they must keep strict watch over the house of Jehovah in behalf of the king.
  8. And YOU must encircle the king all around, each one with his weapons in his hand; and anyone entering within the rows will be put to death. And continue with the king when he goes out and when he comes in.”
  9. ¶ And the chiefs of hundreds16 proceeded to do according to all that Je·hoiʹa·da the priest had commanded. So they took each one his men that were coming in on the sabbath,17 together with those that were going out on the sabbath, and then came in to Je·hoiʹa·da the priest.
  10. The priest now gave the chiefs of hundreds the spears and the circular shields that had belonged to King David, which were in the house of Jehovah.18
  11. And the runners19 kept standing each one with his weapons in his hand, from the right side[d] of the house clear to the left side[e] of the house, by the altar20 and by the house, all around near the king.
  12. Then he brought the son21 of the king out and put upon him the diadem22 and the Testimony;23 and so they made[f] him king24 and anointed[g] him.25 And they began to clap their hands26 and say: “Let the king live!”27
  13. ¶ When Ath·a·liʹah heard the sound of the people running, she at once came to the people at the house of Jehovah.28
  14. Then she saw, and there the king was standing by the pillar29 according to the custom, and the chiefs and the trumpets[h]30 by the king, and all the people of the land rejoicing31 and blowing the trumpets. Immediately Ath·a·liʹah32 ripped her garments apart and began crying: “Conspiracy! Conspiracy!”33
  15. But Je·hoiʹa·da the priest commanded the chiefs of hundreds, the appointed ones of the military force,34 and said to them: “Take her out from inside the rows, and, as for anyone coming after her, let there be an execution of death[i] with the sword!”35 For the priest had said: “Do not let her be put to death in the house of Jehovah.”
  16. So they laid their hands upon her and she came by the way of the horse entry36 of the king’s house,37 and she got put to death there.38
  17. ¶ Then Je·hoiʹa·da concluded the covenant39 between Jehovah40 and the king41 and the people, that they should prove themselves the people of Jehovah; and also between the king and the people.42
  18. After that all the people of the land came to the house of Baʹal and pulled down his altars;43 and his images they broke up thoroughly,44 and Matʹtan45 the priest of Baʹal they killed before the altars.46
¶ And the priest proceeded to put overseers[j] over the house of Jehovah.47
  19. Further, he took the chiefs of hundreds and the Caʹri·an48 bodyguard and the runners49 and all the people of the land, that they might bring the king down from the house of Jehovah; and they came gradually by the way of the gate50 of the runners to the king’s house; and he began to sit upon the throne51 of the kings.
  20. And all the people of the land continued to rejoice;52 and the city, for its part, had no disturbance, and Ath·a·liʹah herself they had put to death with the sword at the king’s house.[k]53
  21. ¶ Seven years old Je·hoʹash[l]54 was when he began to reign.55

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
