Chapter 9 of 2 ChroniclesNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And the queen of Sheʹba1 herself heard the report about Solʹo·mon, and she proceeded to come to test Solʹo·mon with perplexing questions2 at Jerusalem, along with a very impressive train and camels3 carrying balsam oil,4 and gold in great quantity, and precious stones.5 At length she came in to Solʹo·mon and spoke with him about everything that happened to be close to her heart.6
  2. Solʹo·mon, in turn, went on to tell her all her matters,7 and no matter was hidden from Solʹo·mon that he did not tell her.8
  3. ¶ When the queen of Sheʹba got to see Solʹo·mon’s wisdom9 and the house that he had built,10
  4. and the food of his table11 and the sitting of his servants and the table service[a] of his waiters and their attire12 and his drinking service13 and their attire, and his burnt sacrifices14 that he regularly offered up at the house of Jehovah,15 then there proved to be no more spirit in her.
  5. So she said to the king: “True was the word that I heard in my own land about your matters and about your wisdom.16
  6. And I did not put faith17 in their words until I had come that my own eyes might see;18 and, look! there has not been told me the half of the abundance of your wisdom.19 You have surpassed the report that I have heard.20
  7. Happy21 are your men, and happy are these servants of yours who are standing before you constantly and listening to your wisdom.22
  8. May Jehovah your God come to be blessed,23 who has taken delight24 in you by putting you upon his throne25 as king for Jehovah your God;26 because your God loved27 Israel, to make it stand to time indefinite, so that he put you over them as king28 to execute judicial decision29 and righteousness.”30
  9. ¶ Then she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents[b] of gold,31 and balsam oil32 in very great quantity, and precious stones;33 and there had not come to be the like of that balsam oil which the queen of Sheʹba gave to King Solʹo·mon.34
  10. ¶ And, besides, the servants of Hiʹram35 and the servants of Solʹo·mon who brought gold36 from Oʹphir brought timbers of algum trees37 and precious stones.38
  11. And the king proceeded to make out of the timbers of the algum trees stairs39 for the house of Jehovah and for the king’s house40 and also harps41 and stringed instruments42 for the singers,43 and the like of them had never been seen before in the land of Judah.
  12. ¶ And King Solʹo·mon himself gave the queen44 of Sheʹba all her delight for which she had asked, besides [the value of] what she brought to the king. So she turned about and went to her own land, she together with her servants.45
  13. ¶ And the weight of the gold that came to Solʹo·mon in one year amounted to six hundred and sixty-six talents[c] of gold,46
  14. aside from the men of travel[d] and the merchants47 who were bringing in and all the kings of the Arabs48 and the governors of the land who were bringing in gold and silver to Solʹo·mon.
  15. ¶ And King Solʹo·mon went on to make two hundred large shields of alloyed gold49 (six hundred [shekels] of alloyed gold he proceeded to lay upon each large shield),50
  16. and three hundred bucklers of alloyed gold (three miʹnas[e] of gold he proceeded to lay upon each buckler).51 Then the king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebʹa·non.52
  17. ¶ Further, the king made a great ivory throne and overlaid it with pure gold.53
  18. And there were six steps to the throne, and there was a footstool in gold to the throne (they were attached), and there were armrests on this side and on that side by the place of sitting, and two lions54 were standing beside the armrests.55
  19. And there were twelve lions56 standing there upon the six steps on this side and on that side. No other kingdom had any made just like it.57
  20. And all the drinking vessels58 of King Solʹo·mon were of gold,59 and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebʹa·non60 were of pure gold. There was nothing of silver; it was considered as nothing at all61 in the days of Solʹo·mon.
  21. For ships belonging to the king were going to Tarʹshish62 with the servants of Hiʹram.63 Once every three years ships of Tarʹshish would come in, carrying gold and silver,64 ivory,65 and apes66 and peacocks.
  22. ¶ So King Solʹo·mon was greater than all the other kings of the earth in riches67 and wisdom.68
  23. And all the kings of the earth were seeking69 the face of Solʹo·mon to hear his wisdom,70 which the [true] God had put in his heart.71
  24. And they were bringing each his gift,72 articles of silver and articles of gold73 and garments,74 armor and balsam oil, horses and mules as a yearly matter of course.75
  25. And Solʹo·mon came to have four thousand stalls of horses76 and chariots77 and twelve thousand steeds,[f] and he kept them stationed in the chariot cities78 and close by the king in Jerusalem.
  26. And he came to be ruler over all the kings from the River[g] down to the land of the Phi·lisʹtines and down to the boundary of Egypt.79
  27. Furthermore, the king made the silver in Jerusalem like the stones; and cedarwood he made like the sycamore80 trees that are in the She·pheʹlah[h]81 for abundance.82
  28. And there were those bringing out horses83 to Solʹo·mon from Egypt84 and from all the other lands.
  29. ¶ As for the rest of the affairs of Solʹo·mon,85 the first and the last, are they not written among the words of Nathan86 the prophet and in the prophecy of A·hiʹjah87 the Shiʹlo·nite88 and in the record of visions of Idʹdo[i]89 the visionary concerning Jer·o·boʹam90 the son of Neʹbat?91
  30. And Solʹo·mon continued to reign in Jerusalem over all Israel for forty years.
  31. Finally Solʹo·mon lay down with his forefathers. So they buried him in the City of David his father;92 and Re·ho·boʹam93 his son began to reign in place of him.94

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
