Chapter 35 of 2 ChroniclesNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Then Jo·siʹah1 held in Jerusalem a passover2 to Jehovah and they slaughtered the passover victim3 on the fourteenth4 day of the first5 month.
  2. So he stationed the priests over the things under their care6 and encouraged7 them in the service of the house of Jehovah.8
  3. And he went on to say to the Levites, the instructors9 of all Israel, those holy to Jehovah: “Put the holy10 Ark in the house11 that Solʹo·mon the son of David the king of Israel built; it is not YOURS as a burden upon the shoulder.12 Now serve13 Jehovah YOUR God and his people Israel.
  4. And make preparation by the house of YOUR forefathers14 according to YOUR divisions,15 by the writing16 of David the king of Israel and by the writing17 of Solʹo·mon his son.
  5. And stand18 in the holy place by the classes[a] of the house of the forefathers for YOUR brothers, the sons of the people, and the portion of a paternal19 house belonging to the Levites.20
  6. And slaughter the passover21 victim and sanctify22 yourselves and make preparation for YOUR brothers to do according to the word of Jehovah by means of Moses.”23
  7. ¶ Jo·siʹah now contributed to the sons of the people flocks, male lambs and male kids,[b] the whole for the passover victims for all who were to be found, to the number of thirty thousand, and cattle, three thousand.24 These were from the goods of the king.25
  8. And his princes26 themselves made a contribution as a voluntary offering for the people,27 for the priests and for the Levites. Hil·kiʹah[c]28 and Zech·a·riʹah and Je·hiʹel themselves as leaders of the house of the [true] God gave to the priests for the passover victims two thousand six hundred, and three hundred cattle.
  9. And Con·a·niʹah and She·maiʹah and Ne·thanʹel his brothers and Hash·a·biʹah and Je·iʹel and Joʹza·bad, the chiefs of the Levites, contributed to the Levites for passover victims five thousand, and five hundred cattle.
  10. ¶ And the service was prepared29 and the priests kept standing30 at their places,31 and the Levites by their divisions,32 according to the king’s commandment.33
  11. And they proceeded to slaughter the passover victim34 and the priests35 sprinkled36 [the blood] from their hand,[d] while the Levites were stripping the skins37 off.
  12. Further, they prepared[e] the burnt offerings so as to give them to the classes38 by the paternal39 house, to the sons of the people, so as to make a presentation40 to Jehovah according to what is written in the book of Moses;41 and thus also with the cattle.
  13. And they went boiling42 the passover43 offering over the fire according to the custom; and the things made holy they boiled44 in cooking pots and in round-bottomed pots and in banquet bowls, after which they brought it quickly to all the sons of the people.45
  14. And afterward they prepared for themselves and for the priests,46 because the priests the sons of Aaron were engaged in offering up the burnt sacrifices47 and the fat48 pieces until night, and the Levites, for their part, prepared49 for themselves and for the priests the sons of Aaron.
  15. ¶ And the singers50 the sons of Aʹsaph51 were at their office according to the commandment of David52 and of Aʹsaph53 and of Heʹman54 and of Je·duʹthun55 the visionary56 of the king; and the gatekeepers57 were at the different gates.58 There was no need for them to turn aside from their service, because their brothers the Levites themselves prepared59 for them.
  16. And all the service of Jehovah was prepared on that day to hold the passover60 and to offer up the burnt offerings upon the altar of Jehovah, according to the commandment of King Jo·siʹah.61
  17. ¶ And the sons of Israel that were to be found proceeded to hold the passover62 at that time and also the festival of the unfermented cakes for seven days.63
  18. And there had never been held a passover like it in Israel since the days of Samuel the prophet,64 neither had any of the other kings65 of Israel themselves held a passover like that which Jo·siʹah and the priests and the Levites and all Judah and Israel that were to be found and the inhabitants of Jerusalem held.
  19. In the eighteenth year of Jo·siʹah’s reign this passover was held.66
  20. ¶ After all this when Jo·siʹah had prepared the house, Neʹcho[f]67 the king of Egypt68 came up to fight at Carʹche·mish69 by the Eu·phraʹtes. Then Jo·siʹah70 went out to an encounter with him.71
  21. At that he sent messengers to him, saying: “What do I have to do with you,[g] O king of Judah? It is not against you that I am coming today,[h] but it is against another house that my fight is and that God himself said that I should cause disturbance. Refrain for your own sake because of God, who is with me, and do not let him bring you to ruin.”72
  22. And Jo·siʹah did not turn his face away from him,73 but to fight against him he disguised74 himself and did not listen to the words of Neʹcho75 from the mouth of God. So he came to fight in the valley plain of Me·gidʹdo.76
  23. ¶ And the shooters77 got to shoot at King Jo·siʹah, so that the king said to his servants: “Take me down, for I have been very severely wounded.”78
  24. Accordingly his servants took him down from the chariot and had him ride in the second war chariot that was his and brought him to Jerusalem.79 Thus he died80 and was buried in the graveyard of his forefathers;81 and all Judah and Jerusalem were mourning82 over Jo·siʹah.
  25. And Jeremiah[i]83 began to chant84 over Jo·siʹah; and all the male singers and female85 singers keep talking about Jo·siʹah in their dirges down till today; and they have them set as a regulation over Israel, and there they are written among the dirges.86
  26. ¶ As for the rest of the affairs87 of Jo·siʹah and his acts of loving-kindness,[j]88 according to what is written in the law89 of Jehovah,
  27. and his affairs, the first and the last,90 there they are written in the Book91 of the Kings of Israel and Judah.

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
