Chapter 32 of 2 ChroniclesNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ After these things and this faithful course1 Sen·nachʹer·ib2 the king of As·syrʹi·a3 came and proceeded to invade Judah and camp against the fortified cities,4 and kept thinking of making them his by a breakthrough.
  2. ¶ When Hez·e·kiʹah saw that Sen·nachʹer·ib had come with his face5 set for war against Jerusalem,
  3. then he decided with his princes6 and his mighty men to stop up the waters of the springs that were outside the city;7 and so they helped him.
  4. Accordingly many people were collected together, and they went stopping up all the fountains and the torrent8 that floods through the middle of the land, saying: “Why should the kings of As·syrʹi·a come and actually find a great deal of water?”
  5. ¶ Furthermore, he took courage and built up all the broken-down wall9 and raised towers10 upon it, and on the outside another wall,11 and repaired the Mound[a]12 of the City of David, and made missiles13 in abundance and shields.14
  6. And he proceeded to put military chiefs15 over the people and collect them to him at the public square16 of the gate of the city and speak to the heart17 of them, saying:
  7. “Be courageous and strong.18 Do not be afraid19 nor be terrified20 because of the king of As·syrʹi·a21 and on account of all the crowd that is with him;22 for with us there are more than there are with him.
  8. With him there is an arm of flesh,23 but with us there is Jehovah our God to help us24 and to fight our battles.”25 And the people began to brace themselves upon the words of Hez·e·kiʹah the king of Judah.26
  9. ¶ It was after this that Sen·nachʹer·ib27 the king of As·syrʹi·a sent his servants to Jerusalem, while he was at Laʹchish28 and all his imperial might with him,29 to Hez·e·kiʹah the king of Judah and to all the Ju·deʹans that were in Jerusalem, saying:
  10. ¶ “This is what Sen·nachʹer·ib the king of As·syrʹi·a has said,30 ‘In what is it that YOU are trusting while sitting quiet under siege in Jerusalem?31
  11. Is not Hez·e·kiʹah32 alluring33 YOU so as to give YOU over to die by famine and by thirst, saying: “Jehovah our God himself will deliver us out of the palm of the king of As·syrʹi·a”?34
  12. Is it not Hez·e·kiʹah himself that removed his high places35 and his altars36 and then said to Judah and to Jerusalem: “Before one altar37 YOU should bow38 and upon it YOU should make sacrificial smoke”?39
  13. Do YOU not know what I myself and my forefathers did to all the peoples of the lands?40 Did the gods41 of the nations of the lands at all prove able to deliver their land out of my hand?
  14. Who was there among all the gods of these nations that my forefathers devoted to destruction that proved able to deliver his people out of my hand, so that YOUR God should be able to deliver YOU out of my hand?42
  15. And now do not let Hez·e·kiʹah deceive YOU43 or allure44 YOU like this and do not put faith in him, for no god[b] of any nation or kingdom was able to deliver his people out of my hand and out of the hand of my forefathers. How much less, then, will YOUR own God deliver[c] YOU out of my hand?’”45
  16. ¶ And his servants spoke yet further against Jehovah the [true] God46 and against Hez·e·kiʹah his servant.
  17. Even letters he wrote47 to reproach Jehovah the God of Israel48 and to talk against him, saying: “Like the gods49 of the nations of the lands who did not deliver their people out of my hand,50 so the God of Hez·e·kiʹah will not deliver his people out of my hand.”
  18. And they51 kept calling with a loud voice52 in the Jews’53 language to the people of Jerusalem that were upon the wall, to make them afraid54 and to disturb them, in order that they might capture the city.
  19. And they went on speaking against55 the God of Jerusalem56 the same way as against the gods of the peoples of the earth, the work of man’s hands.57
  20. But Hez·e·kiʹah58 the king and Isaiah[d]59 the son of Aʹmoz,60 the prophet,61 kept praying over this62 and crying to the heavens for aid.63
  21. ¶ And Jehovah proceeded to send an angel64 and efface every valiant, mighty man65 and leader and chief in the camp of the king of As·syrʹi·a,66 so that he went back with shame of face to his own land. Later on he entered the house of his god[e] and there certain ones that had come out of his own inward parts felled him with the sword.67
  22. Thus Jehovah saved Hez·e·kiʹah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem out of the hand of Sen·nachʹer·ib the king of As·syrʹi·a68 and out of the hand of all others and gave them rest all around.69
  23. And there were many bringing gifts70 to Jehovah at Jerusalem and choice things to Hez·e·kiʹah the king of Judah,71 and he came to be exalted72 in the eyes of all the nations after that.
  24. ¶ In those days Hez·e·kiʹah fell sick to the point of dying,73 and he began to pray74 to Jehovah. So He talked to him,75 and a portent76 He gave him.
  25. But according to the benefit rendered him Hez·e·kiʹah made no return,77 for his heart became haughty78 and there came to be indignation79 against him and against Judah and Jerusalem.
  26. However, Hez·e·kiʹah humbled80 himself for the haughtiness of his heart, he and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and Jehovah’s indignation did not come upon them in the days81 of Hez·e·kiʹah.
  27. ¶ And Hez·e·kiʹah came to have riches and glory to a very great amount;82 and storehouses he made for himself for silver and for gold83 and for precious stones84 and for balsam oil85 and for shields86 and for all the desirable articles;87
  28. and also storage88 places for the produce of grain and new wine89 and oil, and also stalls90 for all the different sorts of beasts and stalls for the droves.
  29. And cities he acquired for himself, and also livestock of the flock91 and of the herd92 in abundance; for God gave him very many goods.93
  30. And Hez·e·kiʹah was the one that stopped up94 the upper source of the waters95 of Giʹhon96 and kept them directed straight along down to the west to the City of David,97 and Hez·e·kiʹah continued to prove successful in every work of his.98
  31. And thus it was that by the spokesmen of the princes of Babylon[f]99 that were sent to him100 to inquire about the portent101 that had happened in the land, the [true] God left him102 to put him to the test,103 to get to know everything in his heart.104
  32. ¶ As for the rest of the affairs105 of Hez·e·kiʹah and his acts of loving-kindness,[g]106 there they are written in the vision of Isaiah[h] the prophet, the son of Aʹmoz,107 in the Book108 of the Kings of Judah and Israel.
  33. Finally Hez·e·kiʹah lay down with his forefathers,109 and they buried him in the ascent to the burial places of the sons of David;110 and honor was what all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem rendered to him at his death.111 And Ma·nasʹseh112 his son began to reign in place of him.

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
