Chapter 31 of 2 ChroniclesNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ And as soon as they finished all this, all the Israelites1 that were found [there] went out to the cities of Judah,2 and they proceeded to break up the sacred pillars3 and cut down the sacred poles[a]4 and pull down the high places5 and the altars6 out of all Judah7 and Benjamin and in Eʹphra·im8 and Ma·nasʹseh9 until they had finished; after which all the sons of Israel returned to their cities, each one to his own possession.
  2. ¶ Then Hez·e·kiʹah set the divisions10 of the priests and of the Levites11 in their divisions, each one in accordance with its service for the priests12 and for the Levites13 as regards the burnt offering14 and the communion sacrifices15 to minister16 and to give thanks17 and praise18 in the gates of the camps of Jehovah.
  3. And there was a portion of the king from his own goods19 for the burnt offerings,20 for the burnt offerings of the morning21 and the evening, and also the burnt offerings for the sabbaths22 and for the new moons23 and for the festival seasons,24 according to what is written in the law of Jehovah.25
  4. ¶ Furthermore, he said to the people, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, to give the portion of the priests26 and of the Levites,27 in order that they might adhere28 strictly to the law of Jehovah.29
  5. And as soon as the word broke forth, the sons of Israel30 increased the firstfruits of the grain,31 new wine,32 and oil33 and honey34 and all the produce of the field,35 and the tenth of everything they brought in abundantly.36
  6. And the sons of Israel and of Judah that were dwelling in the cities of Judah,37 even they themselves [brought in][b] the tenth of cattle and sheep and the tenth of the holy things,38 the things sanctified to Jehovah their God. They brought in and so gave heaps upon heaps.
  7. In the third39 month they started the heaps by laying the lowest layer, and in the seventh40 month they finished.
  8. When Hez·e·kiʹah and the princes41 came and saw the heaps, they proceeded to bless42 Jehovah and his people Israel.43
  9. ¶ In time Hez·e·kiʹah inquired of the priests and the Levites concerning the heaps.44
  10. Then Az·a·riʹah[c]45 the chief priest of the house of Zaʹdok46 said to him, yes, he said: “From the time they started to bring the contribution47 into the house of Jehovah there has been an eating and getting satisfied48 and having a surplus in abundance;49 for Jehovah himself has blessed his people,50 and what has been left over is this great plenty.”[d]
  11. ¶ At this Hez·e·kiʹah said to prepare dining rooms51 in the house of Jehovah. Accordingly they prepared [them].
  12. And they kept bringing in the contribution52 and the tenth53 and the holy things in faithfulness;54 and Con·a·niʹah[e] the Levite was in charge of them as leader, and Shimʹe·i his brother was second.
  13. And Je·hiʹel and Az·a·ziʹah[f] and Naʹhath and Asʹa·hel and Jerʹi·moth and Joʹza·bad and Eʹli·el and Is·ma·chiʹah[g] and Maʹhath and Be·naiʹah[h] were commissioners at the side of Con·a·niʹah and Shimʹe·i his brother, by the order of Hez·e·kiʹah the king, and Az·a·riʹah55 was the leading one of the house of the [true] God.
  14. And Koʹre the son of Imʹnah the Levite was the gatekeeper56 to the east,57 in charge of the voluntary58 offerings of the [true] God, to give Jehovah’s contribution59 and the most holy things.60
  15. And under his control there were Eʹden and Mi·niʹa·min and Jeshʹu·a[i] and She·maiʹah,[j] Am·a·riʹah[k] and Shec·a·niʹah,[l] in the cities of the priests,61 in office of trust,62 to give to their brothers in the divisions,63 equally to great and small;64
  16. apart from their genealogical65 enrollment of the males from three years of age upward,66 of all those coming to the house of Jehovah as a daily matter of course, for their service by their obligations according to their divisions.
  17. ¶ This is[m] the genealogical enrollment of the priests by the house of their fathers67 and also of the Levites,68 from the age of twenty69 years upward, by their obligations in their divisions;70
  18. both for the genealogical enrollment among all their little ones, their wives and their sons and their daughters, for all the congregation, because in their office of trust71 they proceeded to sanctify72 themselves for what was holy;
  19. and for the sons of Aaron,73 the priests, in the fields74 of pasture ground of their cities. In all the different cities there were men that had been designated by [their] names, to give portions to every male among the priests and to the entire genealogical enrollment among the Levites.
  20. ¶ And Hez·e·kiʹah proceeded to do like this in all Judah, and he continued to do what was good75 and right76 and faithful77 before Jehovah his God.
  21. And in every work that he started in the service78 of the house of the [true] God and in the law79 and in the commandment to search80 for his God, it was with all his heart81 that he acted, and he proved successful.82

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
