Chapter 15 of 2 ChroniclesNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Now for Az·a·riʹah[a] the son of Oʹded,1 the spirit2 of God came to be upon him.
  2. Consequently he went out before Aʹsa and said to him: “Hear me, O Aʹsa and all Judah and Benjamin! Jehovah is with YOU as long as YOU prove to be with him;3 and if YOU search4 for him, he will let himself be found by YOU, but if YOU leave him he will leave YOU.5
  3. And many were the days that Israel6 had been without a true God[b] and without a priest teaching7 and without Law.
  4. But when in their distress8 they returned to Jehovah the God of Israel9 and looked for him, then he let himself be found by them.10
  5. And in those times there was no peace for one going out or for one coming in,11 because there were many disorders among all the inhabitants of the lands.12
  6. And they were crushed to pieces, nation against nation13 and city against city, because God himself kept them in disorder with every sort of distress.14
  7. And YOU, be courageous15 and do not let YOUR hands drop down,16 because there exists a reward for YOUR activity.”17
  8. ¶ And as soon as Aʹsa heard these words and the prophecy of Oʹded18 the prophet, he took courage and proceeded to cause the disgusting things19 to vanish from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities that he had captured from the mountainous region of Eʹphra·im,20 and to renew Jehovah’s altar that was before the porch of Jehovah.21
  9. And he began to collect together all Judah and Benjamin22 and the alien residents[c]23 with them from Eʹphra·im and Ma·nasʹseh and Simʹe·on, for they had deserted to him from Israel in great number when they saw that Jehovah his God was with him.24
  10. So they were collected together at Jerusalem in the third month of the fifteenth year of Aʹsa’s reign.
  11. Then they sacrificed to Jehovah on that day from the spoil they had brought, seven hundred cattle and seven thousand sheep.
  12. Furthermore, they entered into a covenant25 to search for Jehovah the God of their forefathers with all their heart and with all their soul;26
  13. that anyone that would not search for Jehovah the God of Israel should be put to death,27 whether small or great,28 whether man or woman.29
  14. So they swore30 to Jehovah with a loud voice and with joyful shouting and with the trumpets and with horns.[d]
  15. And all Judah gave way to rejoicing31 over the thing sworn; for it was with all their heart that they had sworn and with full pleasure on their part that they had looked for him, so that he let himself be found by them;32 and Jehovah continued to give them rest all around.33
  16. ¶ As for even Maʹa·cah34 [his] grandmother,[e] Aʹsa the king himself35 removed her from [being] lady,36 because she had made a horrible idol for the sacred pole;37 and then Aʹsa cut down her horrible idol38 and pulverized it and burned39 it in the torrent valley of Kidʹron.40
  17. And the high places41 themselves did not disappear from Israel.42 Only Aʹsa’s heart itself proved to be complete all his days.43
  18. And he proceeded to bring the things made holy by his father and the things44 made holy by himself into the house of the [true] God, silver and gold and utensils.45
  19. As for war, it did not occur down to the thirty-fifth year of Aʹsa’s reign.46

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.
