Chapter 15 of 1 CorinthiansNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ Now I make known to YOU, brothers, the good news1 which I declared to YOU,2 which YOU also received, in which YOU also stand,3
  2. through which YOU are also being saved,4 with the speech with which I declared the good news to YOU, if YOU are holding it fast, unless, in fact, YOU became believers to no purpose.5
  3. ¶ For I handed on to YOU, among the first things, that which I also received,6 that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures;7
  4. and that he was buried,8 yes, that he has been raised9 up the third day10 according to the Scriptures;11
  5. and that he appeared to Ceʹphas,12 then to the twelve.13
  6. After that he appeared to upward of five hundred brothers at one time, the most of whom remain to the present,14 but some have fallen asleep [in death].
  7. After that he appeared to James,15 then to all the apostles;16
  8. but last of all he appeared also to me17 as if to one born prematurely.[a]
  9. ¶ For I am the least18 of the apostles, and I am not fit to be called an apostle, because I persecuted19 the congregation of God.
  10. But by God’s undeserved kindness20 I am what I am. And his undeserved kindness that was toward me did not prove to be in vain,21 but I labored in excess of them all,22 yet not I but the undeserved kindness of God that is with me.23
  11. However, whether it is I or they, so we are preaching and so YOU have believed.24
  12. ¶ Now if Christ is being preached that he has been raised up from the dead,25 how is it some among YOU say there is no resurrection[b] of the dead?26
  13. If, indeed, there is no resurrection of the dead, neither has Christ been raised up.27
  14. But if Christ has not been raised up, our preaching is certainly in vain, and our faith is in vain.28
  15. Moreover, we are also found false witnesses of God,29 because we have borne witness30 against God that he raised up the Christ,31 but whom he did not raise up if the dead are really not to be raised up.32
  16. For if the dead are not to be raised up, neither has Christ been raised up.
  17. Further, if Christ has not been raised up, YOUR faith is useless; YOU are yet in YOUR sins.33
  18. In fact, also, those who fell asleep [in death] in union34 with Christ perished.35
  19. If in this life only we have hoped in Christ,36 we are of all men most to be pitied.
  20. ¶ However, now Christ has been raised up from the dead,37 the firstfruits38 of those who have fallen asleep [in death].39
  21. For since death40 is through a man, resurrection41 of the dead is also through a man.
  22. For just as in Adam all are dying,42 so also in the Christ all will be made alive.43
  23. But each one in his own rank: Christ the firstfruits,44 afterward those who belong to the Christ during his presence.[c]45
  24. Next, the end,[d] when he hands over the kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power.46
  25. For he must rule as king until [God][e] has put all enemies under his feet.47
  26. As the last enemy, death is to be brought to nothing.[f]48
  27. For [God] “subjected all things under his feet.”49 But when he says that ‘all things have been subjected,’50 it is evident that it is with the exception of the one who subjected all things to him.51
  28. But when all things will have been subjected to him,52 then the Son himself will also subject himself[g] to the One53 who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.[h]54
  29. ¶ Otherwise, what will they do who are being baptized for the purpose of[i] [being] dead ones?55 If the dead are not to be raised up at all,56 why are they also being baptized57 for the purpose of [being] such?
  30. Why are we also in peril every hour?58
  31. Daily I face death.59 This I affirm by the exultation60 over YOU, brothers, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  32. If, like men,[j] I have fought with wild beasts at Ephʹe·sus,61 of what good is it to me? If the dead are not to be raised up, “let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we are to die.”62
  33. Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil[k] useful habits.63
  34. Wake up to soberness64 in a righteous way and do not practice sin, for some are without knowledge of God.65 I am speaking to move YOU to shame.66
  35. ¶ Nevertheless, someone will say: “How are the dead to be raised up? Yes, with what sort of body are they coming?”67
  36. You unreasonable person! What you sow is not made alive unless first it dies;68
  37. and as for what you sow, you sow, not the body that will develop, but a bare grain,69 it may be, of wheat or any one of the rest;
  38. but God gives it a body70 just as it has pleased him,71 and to each of the seeds its own body.
  39. Not all flesh is the same flesh, but there is one of mankind, and there is another flesh of cattle, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish.72
  40. And there are heavenly[l]73 bodies, and earthly[m] bodies;74 but the glory75 of the heavenly bodies is one sort, and that of the earthly bodies is a different sort.
  41. The glory of the sun76 is one sort, and the glory of the moon77 is another, and the glory of the stars78 is another; in fact, star differs from star in glory.
  42. ¶ So also is the resurrection of the dead.79 It is sown in corruption, it is raised up in incorruption.80
  43. It is sown in dishonor,81 it is raised up in glory.82 It is sown in weakness,83 it is raised up in power.84
  44. It is sown a physical[n] body,85 it is raised up a spiritual body.86 If there is a physical body, there is also a spiritual one.
  45. It is even so written: “The first man Adam became a living soul.”[o]87 The last Adam became a life-giving88 spirit.89
  46. Nevertheless, the first is, not that which is spiritual, but that which is physical, afterward that which is spiritual.90
  47. The first man is out of the earth and made of dust;91 the second man is out of heaven.92
  48. As the one made of dust93 [is], so those made of dust [are] also; and as the heavenly one94 [is], so those who are heavenly [are] also.95
  49. And just as we have borne the image96 of the one made of dust, we shall bear[p] also the image97 of the heavenly one.
  50. ¶ However, this I say, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s kingdom,98 neither does corruption inherit incorruption.99
  51. Look! I tell YOU a sacred secret: We shall not all fall asleep [in death], but we shall all be changed,100
  52. in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, during[q] the last trumpet. For the trumpet101 will sound, and the dead will be raised up incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
  53. For this which is corruptible must put on incorruption,102 and this which is mortal103 must put on immortality.[r]
  54. But when [this which is corruptible puts on incorruption and][s] this which is mortal puts on immortality, then the saying will take place that is written: “Death104 is swallowed up forever.”[t]105
  55. “Death, where is your victory? Death, where is your sting?”[u]106
  56. The sting107 producing death is sin, but the power for sin is the Law.[v]108
  57. But thanks to God, for he gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!109
  58. ¶ Consequently, my beloved brothers, become steadfast,110 unmovable, always having plenty to do in the work of the Lord,111 knowing that YOUR labor is not in vain[w]112 in connection with [the] Lord.

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
