Chapter 29 of 1 ChroniclesNew World Translation (NWT)

  1. ¶ David the king now said to all the congregation:1 “Solʹo·mon my son, the one [whom] God has chosen,2 is young3 and delicate, but the work is great; for the castle[a] is not for man,4 but for Jehovah God.
  2. And according to all my power5 I have prepared6 for the house of my God the gold7 for the goldwork, and the silver for the silverwork, and the copper for the copperwork, the iron8 for the ironwork, and the timbers9 for the timberwork; onyx10 stones, and stones to be set with hard mortar, and mosaic pebbles, and every precious stone, and alabaster stones in great quantity.
  3. And since I am taking pleasure11 in the house of my God, there is yet a special property of mine,12 gold and silver; I do give it to the house of my God over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house:13
  4. three thousand talents of gold of the gold of Oʹphir,14 and seven thousand talents of refined silver, for coating the walls of the houses;
  5. of the gold for the goldwork, and of the silver for the silverwork and for all the work by the hand of the craftsmen. And who is there volunteering to fill his hand today [with a gift] for Jehovah?”15
  6. ¶ And the princes16 of the paternal17 houses[b] and the princes18 of the tribes of Israel and the chiefs of thousands19 and of hundreds20 and the chiefs of the business21 of the king proceeded to volunteer.
  7. Accordingly they gave to the service of the house of the [true] God gold worth five thousand talents[c] and ten thousand darics[d] and silver worth ten thousand talents and copper worth eighteen thousand talents and iron worth a hundred thousand talents.22
  8. And what stones were found with any persons they gave to the treasure of the house of Jehovah under the control of Je·hiʹel23 the Gerʹshon·ite.24
  9. And the people gave way to rejoicing over their making voluntary offerings, for it was with a complete heart that they made voluntary offerings to Jehovah;25 and even David the king himself rejoiced with great joy.26
  10. ¶ Consequently David blessed27 Jehovah before the eyes of all the congregation28 and David said: “Blessed may you be,29 O Jehovah the God of Israel30 our father, from time indefinite even to time indefinite.
  11. Yours, O Jehovah, are the greatness31 and the mightiness32 and the beauty33 and the excellency34 and the dignity;35 for everything in the heavens and in the earth is [yours].36 Yours is the kingdom,37 O Jehovah, the One also lifting yourself up as head over all.38
  12. The riches39 and the glory40 are on account of you, and you are dominating[e]41 everything; and in your hand there are power42 and mightiness,43 and in your hand is [ability] to make great44 and to give strength to all.45
  13. And now, O our God, we are thanking you46 and praising47 your beauteous48 name.
  14. ¶ “And yet, who am I49 and who are my people, that we should retain power to make voluntary offerings like this?50 For everything is from you,51 and out of your own hand we have given to you.
  15. For we are alien residents before you and settlers52 the same as all our forefathers. Like a shadow our days are upon the earth53 and there is no hope.
  16. O Jehovah our God, all this abundance that we have prepared to build for you a house for your holy name, from your hand it is, and to you it all belongs.54
  17. And I well know, O my God, that you are an examiner of the heart,55 and that it is in rectitude that you take pleasure.56 I, for my part, in the uprightness of my heart have voluntarily offered all these things, and now your people who are on hand here I have enjoyed seeing make offerings voluntarily to you.
  18. O Jehovah the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel our forefathers,57 do keep this to time indefinite as the inclination of the thoughts of the heart of your people,58 and direct their heart to you.59
  19. And to Solʹo·mon my son give a complete heart60 to keep your commandments,61 your testimonies[f]62 and your regulations,63 and to do everything, and to build the castle64 for which I have made preparation.”65
  20. ¶ And David went on to say to all the congregation:66 “Bless,67 now, Jehovah YOUR God.” And all the congregation proceeded to bless Jehovah the God of their forefathers and bow low68 and prostrate69 themselves to Jehovah and to the king.
  21. And they continued to sacrifice70 sacrifices to Jehovah and offer up burnt offerings71 to Jehovah on the day following that day, a thousand young bulls, a thousand rams, a thousand male lambs and their drink offerings,72 even sacrifices in great number for all Israel.73
  22. And they continued eating and drinking before Jehovah on that day with great rejoicing;74 and they proceeded a second time to make Solʹo·mon the son of David king75 and to anoint him to Jehovah as leader76 and also Zaʹdok77 as priest.
  23. And Solʹo·mon began to sit upon Jehovah’s throne78 as king in place of David his father and to make a success of it,79 and all the Israelites were obedient to him.
  24. As for all the princes80 and the mighty men81 and also all the sons of King David,82 they submitted themselves to Solʹo·mon the king.[g]
  25. And Jehovah continued to make Solʹo·mon surpassingly great83 before the eyes of all Israel and to put upon him such royal dignity as had not come to be upon any king before him over Israel.84
  26. ¶ As for David the son of Jesʹse, he reigned over all Israel;85
  27. and the days that he reigned over Israel were forty years.86 In Heʹbron he reigned for seven years,87 and in Jerusalem he reigned for thirty-three [years].88
  28. And gradually he died in a good old age,89 satisfied with days, riches90 and glory;91 and Solʹo·mon his son began to reign in place of him.92
  29. As for the affairs of David the king, the first ones and the last, there they are written among the words of Samuel the seer[h]93 and among the words of Nathan94 the prophet and among the words of Gad95 the visionary,[i]
  30. together with all his kingship and his mightiness and the times96 that had passed over him and over Israel and over all the kingdoms of the lands.97

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
