- ¶ It is 1good to give thanks to the LORD
And to 2sing praises to Your name, O Most High; - To 3declare Your lovingkindness in the morning
And Your 4faithfulness [a]by night, - [b]With the 5ten-stringed lute and [c]with the 6harp,
[d]With resounding music [e]upon the 7lyre. - For You, O LORD, have made me glad by [f]what You 8have done,
I will 9sing for joy at the 10works of Your hands. - ¶ How 11great are Your works, O LORD!
Your [g]12thoughts are very 13deep. - A 14senseless man has no knowledge,
Nor does a 15stupid man understand this: - That when the wicked 16sprouted up like grass
And all 17who did iniquity flourished,
It was only that they might be 18destroyed forevermore. - But You, O LORD, are 19on high forever.
- For, behold, Your enemies, O LORD,
For, behold, 20Your enemies will perish;
All who do iniquity will be 21scattered. - ¶ But You have exalted my 22horn like that of the wild ox;
I have [h]been 23anointed with fresh oil. - And my eye has 24looked exultantly upon [i]my foes,
My ears hear of the evildoers who rise up against me. - The 25righteous man will [j]flourish like the palm tree,
He will grow like a 26cedar in Lebanon. - 27Planted in the house of the LORD,
They will flourish 28in the courts of our God. - They will still [k]29yield fruit in old age;
They shall be [l]full of sap and very green, - To [m]declare that 30the LORD is upright;
He is my 31rock, and there is 32no unrighteousness in Him.
