Book of Psalms, No. 48
Psalms 48 NASB - New American Standard Bible No. 48 of the Psalms—New American Standard Bible (NASB)
- ¶ 1Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised,
In the 2city of our God, His 3holy mountain. - 4Beautiful in elevation, 5the joy of the whole earth,
Is Mount Zion in the far north,
The 6city of the great King. - God, in her palaces,
Has made Himself known as a 7stronghold. - ¶ For, lo, the 8kings assembled themselves,
They passed by together. - They saw it, then they were amazed;
They were 9terrified, they [a]fled in alarm. - [b]Panic seized them there,
Anguish, as of 10a woman in childbirth. - With the 11east wind
You 12break the 13ships of Tarshish. - As we have heard, so have we seen
In the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God;
God will 14establish her forever. [c]Selah. - ¶ We have thought on 15Your lovingkindness, O God,
In the midst of Your temple. - As is Your 16name, O God,
So is Your 17praise to the ends of the earth;
Your 18right hand is full of righteousness. - Let Mount 19Zion be glad,
Let the 20daughters of Judah rejoice
Because of Your judgments. - Walk about Zion and go around her;
Count her 21towers; - Consider her 22ramparts;
Go through her palaces,
That you may 23tell it to the next generation. - For [d]such is God,
Our God forever and ever;
He will 24guide us [e]until death.
