Chapter 21 of JoshuaNew American Standard Bible (NASB)

  1. ¶ Then the heads of [a]households of 1the Levites approached Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of [b]households of the tribes of the sons of Israel.
  2. They spoke to them at Shiloh in the land of Canaan, saying, “2The LORD commanded [c]through Moses to give us cities to live in, with their pasture lands for our cattle.”
  3. So the sons of Israel gave the Levites from their inheritance these cities with their pasture lands, according to the [d]command of the LORD.
  4. Then the lot came out for the families of the Kohathites. And the sons of Aaron the priest, who were of the Levites, [e]received thirteen cities by lot from the tribe of Judah and from the tribe of the Simeonites and from the tribe of Benjamin.
  5. ¶ The rest of the sons of Kohath [f]received ten cities by lot from the families of the tribe of Ephraim and from the tribe of Dan and from the half-tribe of Manasseh.
  6. ¶ The sons of Gershon [g]received thirteen cities by lot from the families of the tribe of Issachar and from the tribe of Asher and from the tribe of Naphtali and from the half-tribe of Manasseh in Bashan.
  7. ¶ The sons of Merari according to their families [h]received twelve cities from the tribe of Reuben and from the tribe of Gad and from the tribe of Zebulun.
  8. ¶ Now the 3sons of Israel gave by lot to the Levites these cities with their pasture lands, as the LORD had commanded [i]through Moses.
  9. ¶ They gave these cities which are here mentioned by name from the tribe of the sons of Judah and from the tribe of the sons of Simeon;
  10. and they were for the sons of Aaron, one of the families of the Kohathites, of the sons of Levi, for the lot was theirs first.
  11. Thus 4they gave them Kiriath-arba, Arba being the 5father of Anak (that is, Hebron), in the hill country of Judah, with its surrounding pasture lands.
  12. But the fields of the city and its villages they gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh as his possession.
  13. ¶ So 6to the sons of Aaron the priest they gave 7Hebron, the city of refuge for the manslayer, with its pasture lands, and 8Libnah with its pasture lands,
  14. and 9Jattir with its pasture lands and 10Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,
  15. and [j]Holon with its pasture lands and 11Debir with its pasture lands,
  16. and [k]Ain with its pasture lands and 12Juttah with its pasture lands and 13Beth-shemesh with its pasture lands; nine cities from these two tribes.
  17. From the tribe of Benjamin, 14Gibeon with its pasture lands, 15Geba with its pasture lands,
  18. Anathoth with its pasture lands and [l]Almon with its pasture lands; four cities.
  19. All the cities of the sons of Aaron, the priests, were thirteen cities with their pasture lands.
  20. ¶ Then the cities from the tribe of Ephraim were allotted to the 16families of the sons of Kohath, the Levites, even to the rest of the sons of Kohath.
  21. They gave them 17Shechem, the city of refuge for the manslayer, with its pasture lands, in the hill country of Ephraim, and Gezer with its pasture lands,
  22. and Kibzaim with its pasture lands and Beth-horon with its pasture lands; four cities.
  23. From the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its pasture lands, Gibbethon with its pasture lands,
  24. Aijalon with its pasture lands, Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands; four cities.
  25. From the half-tribe of Manasseh, they allotted Taanach with its pasture lands and Gath-rimmon with its pasture lands; two cities.
  26. All the cities with their pasture lands for the families of the rest of the sons of Kohath were ten.
  27. 18To the sons of Gershon, one of the families of the Levites, from the half-tribe of Manasseh, they gave Golan in Bashan, the city of refuge for the manslayer, with its pasture lands, and Be-eshterah with its pasture lands; two cities.
  28. From the tribe of Issachar, they gave Kishion with its pasture lands, Daberath with its pasture lands,
  29. Jarmuth with its pasture lands, En-gannim with its pasture lands; four cities.
  30. From the tribe of Asher, they gave Mishal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands,
  31. Helkath with its pasture lands and Rehob with its pasture lands; four cities.
  32. From the tribe of Naphtali, they gave 19Kedesh in Galilee, the city of refuge for the manslayer, with its pasture lands and Hammoth-dor with its pasture lands and Kartan with its pasture lands; three cities.
  33. All the cities of the Gershonites according to their families were thirteen cities with their pasture lands.
  34. ¶ To the families of 20the sons of Merari, the rest of the Levites, they gave from the tribe of Zebulun, Jokneam with its pasture lands and Kartah with its pasture lands.
  35. Dimnah with its pasture lands, Nahalal with its pasture lands; four cities.
  36. From the tribe of Reuben, they gave 21Bezer with its pasture lands and Jahaz with its pasture lands,
  37. Kedemoth with its pasture lands and Mephaath with its pasture lands; four cities.
  38. From the tribe of Gad, they gave 22Ramoth in Gilead, the city of refuge for the manslayer, with its pasture lands and 23Mahanaim with its pasture lands,
  39. Heshbon with its pasture lands, Jazer with its pasture lands; four cities in all.
  40. All these were the cities of the sons of Merari according to their families, the rest of the families of the Levites; and their lot was twelve cities.
  41. 24All the cities of the Levites in the midst of the possession of the sons of Israel were forty-eight cities with their pasture lands.
  42. These cities each had its surrounding pasture lands; thus it was with all these cities.
  43. 25So the LORD gave Israel all the land which He had sworn to give to their fathers, and 26they possessed it and lived in it.
  44. And the LORD 27gave them rest on every side, according to all that He had sworn to their fathers, and 28no one of all their enemies stood before them; 29the LORD gave all their enemies into their hand.
  45. 30Not [m]one of the good promises which the LORD had [n]made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass.

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

NWT is a false translation that takes away from the deity of Jesus !

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
