Book of Isaiah, Chapter 60
Chapter 60 of Isaiah
And the 3glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
And deep darkness the peoples;
But the LORD will rise upon you
And His 5glory will appear upon you.
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
They all gather together, they 8come to you.
Your sons will come from afar,
And your 9daughters will be [a]carried in the arms.
And your heart will [b]thrill and rejoice;
Because the 11abundance of the sea will be turned to you,
The 12wealth of the nations will come to you.
The young camels of Midian and 13Ephah;
All those from 14Sheba will come;
They will bring 15gold and frankincense,
And will 16bear good news of the praises of the LORD.
The rams of Nebaioth will minister to you;
They will go up with acceptance on My 18altar,
And I shall [c]19glorify My [d]glorious house.
And like the doves to their [e]lattices?
And the 22ships of Tarshish will come first,
To 23bring your sons from afar,
Their silver and their gold with them,
For the name of the LORD your God,
And for the Holy One of Israel because He has [f]24glorified you.
And their 26kings will minister to you;
For in My 27wrath I struck you,
And in My favor I have had compassion on you.
They will not be closed day or night,
So that men may 29bring to you the wealth of the nations,
With 30their kings led in procession.
And the nations will be utterly ruined.
The 33juniper, the box tree and the cypress together,
To beautify the place of My sanctuary;
And I shall make the 34place of My feet glorious.
And all those who despised you will bow themselves at the soles of your feet;
And they will call you the 36city of the LORD,
The 37Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
With no one passing through,
I will make you an everlasting 40pride,
A joy from generation to generation.
And suck the breast of kings;
Then you will know that I, the LORD, am your 42Savior
And your 43Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.
And instead of iron I will bring silver,
And instead of wood, bronze,
And instead of stones, iron.
And I will make peace your administrators
And righteousness your overseers.
Nor 45devastation or destruction within your borders;
But you will call your 46walls salvation, and your 47gates praise.
Nor for brightness will the moon give you light;
But you will have the 49LORD for an everlasting light,
And your 50God for your [g]glory.
Nor will your moon wane;
For you will have the LORD for an everlasting light,
And the days of your 52mourning will be over.
They will 54possess the land forever,
The branch of [h]My planting,
The 55work of My hands,
That I may be 56glorified.
And the least one a mighty nation.
I, the LORD, will hasten it in its time.”FOOTNOTES
