Chapter 28 of DeuteronomyNew American Standard Bible (NASB)

  1. ¶ “1Now it shall be, if you diligently [a]obey the LORD your God, being careful to do all His commandments which I command you today, the LORD your God 2will set you high above all the nations of the earth.
  2. All these blessings will come upon you and 3overtake you if you [b]obey the LORD your God:
  3. ¶ “Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be 4in the [c]country.
  4. ¶ “Blessed shall be the [d]offspring of your [e]body and the [f]produce of your ground and the [g]offspring of your beasts, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock.
  5. ¶ “Blessed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
  6. ¶ “Blessed shall you be 5when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.
  7. ¶ “The LORD shall cause your enemies who rise up against you to be [h]defeated before you; they will come out against you one way and will flee before you seven ways.
  8. The LORD will command the blessing upon you in your barns and in 6all that you put your hand to, and He will bless you in the land which the LORD your God gives you.
  9. 7The LORD will establish you as a holy people to Himself, as He swore to you, if you keep the commandments of the LORD your God and walk in His ways.
  10. So all the peoples of the earth will see that [i]8you are called by the name of the LORD, and they will be afraid of you.
  11. 9The LORD will make you abound in prosperity, in the [j]offspring of your [k]body and in the [l]offspring of your beast and in the [m]produce of your ground, in the land which the LORD swore to your fathers to give you.
  12. The LORD will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and 10you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.
  13. 11The LORD will make you the head and not the tail, and you only will be above, and you will not be underneath, if you listen to the commandments of the LORD your God, which I charge you today, to [n]observe them carefully,
  14. and 12do not turn aside from any of the words which I command you today, to the right or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
  15. ¶ “13But it shall come about, if you do not [o]obey the LORD your God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes with which I charge you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:
  16. ¶ “14Cursed shall you be in the city, and cursed shall you be in the [p]country.
  17. ¶ “15Cursed shall be your basket and your kneading bowl.
  18. ¶ “16Cursed shall be the [q]offspring of your [r]body and the [s]produce of your ground, the increase of your herd and the young of your flock.
  19. ¶ “17Cursed shall you be when you come in, and cursed shall you be when you go out.
  20. ¶ “18The LORD will send upon you curses, confusion, and 19rebuke, in all [t]you undertake to do, until you are destroyed and until 20you perish quickly, on account of the evil of your deeds, because you have forsaken Me.
  21. 21The LORD will make the pestilence cling to you until He has consumed you from the land where you are entering to possess it.
  22. 22The LORD will smite you with consumption and with fever and with inflammation and with fiery heat and with [u]the sword and 23with blight and with mildew, and they will pursue you until 24you perish.
  23. [v]The heaven which is over your head shall be bronze, and the earth which is under you, iron.
  24. 25The LORD will make the rain of your land powder and dust; from heaven it shall come down on you until you are destroyed.
  25. ¶ “26The LORD shall cause you to be [w]defeated before your enemies; you will go out one way against them, but you will flee seven ways before them, and you will 27be an example of terror to all the kingdoms of the earth.
  26. 28Your carcasses will be food to all birds of the sky and to the beasts of the earth, and there will be no one to frighten them away.
  27. ¶ “29The LORD will smite you with the boils of Egypt and with 30tumors and with the scab and with the itch, from which you cannot be healed.
  28. The LORD will smite you with madness and with blindness and with bewilderment of heart;
  29. and you will [x]31grope at noon, as the blind man gropes in darkness, and you will not prosper in your ways; but you shall only be oppressed and robbed continually, with none to save you.
  30. 32You shall betroth a wife, but another man will violate her; 33you shall build a house, but you will not live in it; you shall plant a vineyard, but you will not [y]use its fruit.
  31. Your ox shall be slaughtered before your eyes, but you will not eat of it; your donkey shall be torn away from you, and will not be restored to you; your sheep shall be given to your enemies, and you will have none to save you.
  32. 34Your sons and your daughters shall be given to another people, while your eyes look on and yearn for them continually; but there will be nothing [z]you can do.
  33. 35A people whom you do not know shall eat up the produce of your ground and all your labors, and you will never be anything but oppressed and crushed continually.
  34. You shall be driven mad by the sight of [aa]what you see.
  35. 36The LORD will strike you on the knees and legs with sore boils, from which you cannot be healed, from the sole of your foot to the crown of your head.
  36. 37The LORD will bring you and your king, whom you set over you, to a nation which neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you shall serve other gods, 38wood and stone.
  37. 39You shall become a horror, a proverb, and a taunt among all the people where the LORD drives you.
  38. ¶ “40You shall bring out much seed to the field but you will gather in little, for 41the locust will consume it.
  39. 42You shall plant and cultivate vineyards, but you will neither drink of the wine nor gather the grapes, for the worm will devour them.
  40. 43You shall have olive trees throughout your territory but you will not anoint yourself with the oil, for your olives will drop off.
  41. 44You shall [ab]have sons and daughters but they will not be yours, for they will go into captivity.
  42. 45The cricket shall possess all your trees and the produce of your ground.
  43. 46The alien who is among you shall rise above you higher and higher, but you will go down lower and lower.
  44. 47He shall lend to you, but you will not lend to him; 48he shall be the head, and you will be the tail.
  45. ¶ “So all these curses shall come on you and pursue you and overtake you 49until you are destroyed, because you would not [ac]obey the LORD your God by keeping His commandments and His statutes which He commanded you.
  46. They shall become 50a sign and a wonder on you and your [ad]descendants forever.
  47. ¶ “51Because you did not serve the LORD your God with joy and a glad heart, for the abundance of all things;
  48. therefore you shall serve your enemies whom the LORD will send against you, 52in hunger, in thirst, in nakedness, and in the lack of all things; and He 53will put an iron yoke on your neck until He has destroyed you.
  49. ¶ “54The LORD will bring a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, 55as the eagle swoops down, a nation whose language you shall not understand,
  50. a nation of fierce countenance who will 56have no respect for the old, nor show favor to the young.
  51. Moreover, it shall eat the [ae]offspring of your herd and the produce of your ground until you are destroyed, who also leaves you no grain, new wine, or oil, nor the increase of your herd or the young of your flock until they have caused you to perish.
  52. 57It shall besiege you in all your [af]towns until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down throughout your land, and it shall besiege you in all your [ag]towns throughout your land which the LORD your God has given you.
  53. 58Then you shall eat the [ah]offspring of your own body, the flesh of your sons and of your daughters whom the LORD your God has given you, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will [ai]oppress you.
  54. The man who is [aj]refined and very delicate among you [ak]shall be hostile toward his brother and toward the wife [al]he cherishes and toward the rest of his children who remain,
  55. so that he will not give even one of them any of the flesh of his children which he will eat, since he has nothing else left, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will [am]oppress you in all your [an]towns.
  56. 59The [ao]refined and delicate woman among you, who would not venture to set the sole of her foot on the ground for delicateness and [ap]refinement, [aq]shall be hostile toward the husband [ar]she cherishes and toward her son and daughter,
  57. and toward her afterbirth which issues from between her [as]legs and toward her children whom she bears; for 60she will eat them secretly for lack of anything else, during the siege and the distress by which your enemy will [at]oppress you in your [au]towns.
  58. ¶ “If you are not careful to observe all the words of this law which are written in this book, to [av]61fear this honored and awesome 62name, [aw]the LORD your God,
  59. then the LORD will bring extraordinary plagues on you and [ax]your descendants, even [ay]severe and lasting plagues, and miserable and chronic sicknesses.
  60. 63He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt of which you were afraid, and they will cling to you.
  61. Also every sickness and every plague which, not written in the book of this law, the LORD will bring on you 64until you are destroyed.
  62. Then you shall be left few in number, 65whereas you were as numerous as the stars of heaven, because you did not [az]obey the LORD your God.
  63. It shall come about that as the LORD 66delighted over you to prosper you, and multiply you, so the LORD will 67delight over you to make you perish and destroy you; and you will be 68torn from the land where you are entering to possess it.
  64. Moreover, the LORD will 69scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other end of the earth; and there you shall 70serve other gods, wood and stone, which you or your fathers have not known.
  65. 71Among those nations you shall find no rest, and there will be no resting place for the sole of your foot; but there 72the LORD will give you a trembling heart, failing of eyes, and despair of soul.
  66. So your life shall [ba]hang in doubt before you; and you will be in dread night and day, and shall have no assurance of your life.
  67. 73In the morning you shall say, ‘Would that it were evening!’ And at evening you shall say, ‘Would that it were morning!’ because of the dread of your heart which you dread, and for the sight of your eyes which you will see.
  68. The LORD will bring you back to Egypt in ships, by the way about which I spoke to you, ‘You will never see it again!’ And there you will offer yourselves for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but there will be no buyer.”

The NWT adds words to the text that are not in the greek Manuscripts to fit it's own doctrinal position for example

Compare the wording of the NWT and the NKJV at Colossians 1:15-17

    NKJV says

15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

    NWT says

15 He is the image of the invisible God,the firstborn OF all creation;16 because by means of him all OTHER things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All OTHER things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all OTHER things, and by means of him all OTHER things were made to exist,

The word “other” is not in the Greek but they add it Why? So they can decieve their followers into thinking that Christ was created by the Father and that he then created other things, that is not what the Greek says.

Truth is from God and those that follow him. As for lies? John8:44

Kiamia, I noticed you used a modern version of kjv to make your point about the nwt.

Why didn’t you use the original kjv of col1:15?

Is it because it disproves your point? It proves the opposite of what you wrote?

Here is kjv col1:15 ¶” Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn OF every creature:“

Now I appeal to your Christian nature to correct your mistake as God is watching each of us, and let us bless the God of Jesus his father.

Kjv 1Pe 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ….

Joshua, Jehovah’s Witnesses have never denied the deity of the Messiah in his prehuman existence. While on Earth he was fully 100% human. I do not mean he was a mere human, he was not affected by Adam’s unfaithful behavior, he was sinless.

When i do read some comments and seeing that its the same people that are supposed to be called believers but are talking ill of other denominations, it hurts. Let us all remember that We should judge not

The bible tells us to test the spirits. Satan disguises himself as angel of light. So yes some denomination are not teaching the truth. You are responsible for judging which ones are not. You have to judge the truth at all times. this is what the bible teaches

The NWT is a very good translation. Dr. Jason David BeDuhn PhD attests to that in his book Truth in Translation. drive.google.com/...5p16melHzg8/view

The NWT is Satanic filth to its very core.

The JW Cult is Satanic to its very core.

Praise Yahweh I will never be a victim of JW brainwashing. If I burn in Hell for eternity or I am ultimately annihilated so be it

May Yahweh's curse rest on the Watchtower Society and its Satanic leadership

Thank you for taking the time to provide this service. I like seeing the NASB on your web page in the same format as I read on paper. On other sites, the text area is smaller, and so I have to keep scrolling down to read and sometimes I lose the context. So I really appreciate the format.

As far as the NWT, you are certainly free to do whatever you think best with your own web pages. I'd suggest that you make a note anytime you have a translation that is associated with only one denomination or church, for example:
New World Translation (Jehovah's Witness version).

In Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares. the main idea seems to be that you can't easily distinguish between God's people and not-God's people on this earth, so our Lord's response is to wait until they are shown to be the kind of people they are inside. But the NWT seems like false teaching to me. So I think the warning passages from Jesus' apostles are more applicable, as in 2 Peter 3:15-16, when he talks about Paul's writings:
"There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures."
And we also have the positive exhortations, as in 2 Timothy 2:15:
"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

Your suggestion regarding the denominational flagging is duly noted. But I can’t help but wonder, wouldn’t a Catholic also want “Protestant versions” marked as well?

As for the parable, I’m pretty sure the slaves were convinced in their own minds that they could tell the tares from the wheat. After all, aren’t they the ones who identified the problem in the first place? But the master obviously thought otherwise.

Furthermore, even at the time when Jesus himself was walking the earth, not everybody who claimed fellowship actually followed him causing John to inquire at Mark 9:39, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him . . . for he who is not against us is for us.”

Hello, question.. why have you included the NWT with other legitimate bible translations? Or why have you not atleast included a warning to readers? Don't you fear that someone could be influenced by the Watchtower's intentional heresies? Thank you.

Please site these intentional heresies. I am well versed in the watch tower outline and agree they are in many ways incorrect but i also bet i can point many out from EVERY established or main denomination. There is much to learn from them all as one who drinks milk?

Judge not lest ye be judged, that is not to pass judgement on you either brother.

I debate with scripture. I don't hold it to be true that Michael is Y'Shua HaMeshiach but I also firmly hold it to be true that our G-d and Heavenly Father are not the word encarnate and only begotten son.

I love not seeing "lord" which i relate to baal. I feel the catholic church is a satanic establishment and I am aware a freemason started the hovies but there are evil in high places and our fight is also with principalities.

What i'm saying is that in my darkest hours, those two were some of if not the only ones who would bring a Bible and eucharist and pray with me.

We all fall short of the glory of G-d.

Don't forget the NWT was recognized as the most accurate translation on Jeopardy.

Lastly, this is different I noted than the NWT i have read and am very familiar with. Pull up the watchtower page and compare. I truly look forward to getting this one!
