Second Epistle to the Corinthians, Chapter 6
2 Corinthians 6 NASB - New American Standard BibleChapter 6 of 2 Corinthians—New American Standard Bible (NASB)
- ¶ And 1working together with Him, 2we also urge you not to receive 3the grace of God in vain—
- for He says,
¶ “4AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU,
AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU.”
¶ Behold, now is “THE ACCEPTABLE TIME,” behold, now is “THE DAY OF SALVATION”— - 5giving no cause for offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be discredited,
- but in everything 6commending ourselves as [a]7servants of God, 8in much endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,
- in 9beatings, in imprisonments, in 10tumults, in labors, in sleeplessness, in 11hunger,
- in purity, in 12knowledge, in 13patience, in kindness, in the 14Holy Spirit, in 15genuine love,
- in 16the word of truth, in 17the power of God; by 18the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left,
- by glory and 19dishonor, by 20evil report and good report; regarded as 21deceivers and yet 22true;
- as unknown [b]yet well-known, as 23dying [c]yet behold, 24we live; as [d]punished [e]yet not put to death,
- as 25sorrowful yet always 26rejoicing, as 27poor yet making many rich, as 28having nothing [f]yet possessing 29all things.
- ¶ 30Our mouth [g]has spoken freely to you, O Corinthians, our 31heart is opened wide.
- You are not restrained [h]by us, but 32you are restrained in your own [i]affections.
- Now in a like 33exchange—I speak as to 34children—open wide to us also.
- ¶ 35Do not be [j]bound together with 36unbelievers; for what 37partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
- Or what 38harmony has Christ with [k]Belial, or [l]what has a 39believer in common with an 40unbeliever?
- Or 41what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are 42the temple of 43the living God; just as God said,
¶ “44I WILL 45DWELL IN THEM AND 46WALK AMONG THEM;
AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. - “47Therefore, 48COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,” says the Lord.
“AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN;
And I will welcome you. - “49And I will be a father to you,
And you shall be 50sons and daughters to Me,”
Says the Lord Almighty.
