Book of Psalms, No. 80
No. 80 of the Psalms
¶ Thou that leadest Joseph like a flock;
¶ Thou that [a]sittest above the cherubim, shine forth.
¶ And come to save us.
¶ And cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
¶ How long [c]1wilt thou be angry against the prayer of thy people?
¶ And given them tears to drink in large measure.
¶ And our enemies laugh among themselves.
¶ And cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
¶ Thou didst drive out the nations, and plantedst it.
¶ And it took deep root, and filled the land.
¶ And [e]the boughs thereof were like [f]cedars of God.
¶ And its shoots unto the River.
¶ So that all they that pass by the way do pluck it?
¶ And the wild beasts of the field feed on it.
¶ Look down from heaven, and behold, and visit this vine,
¶ And the [h]branch that thou madest strong for thyself.
¶ They perish at the rebuke of thy countenance.
¶ Upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.
¶ Quicken thou us, and we will call upon thy name.
¶ Cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.FOOTNOTES
