Book of Psalms, No. 37
No. 37 of the Psalms
¶ Neither be thou envious against them that work unrighteousness.
¶ And wither as the green herb.
¶ [a]Dwell in the land, and [b]feed on his faithfulness.
¶ And he will give thee the [d]desires of thy heart.
¶ Trust also in him, and he will bring it to pass.
¶ And thy justice as the noon-day.
¶ Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way,
¶ Because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.
¶ Fret not thyself, it tendeth only to evil-doing.
¶ But those that wait for Jehovah, they shall inherit [g]1the land.
¶ Yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and [h]he shall not be.
¶ And shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.
¶ And gnasheth upon him with his teeth.
¶ For he seeth that his day is coming.
¶ To cast down the poor and needy,
¶ To slay such as are upright in the way.
¶ And their bows shall be broken.
¶ Than the abundance of many wicked.
¶ But Jehovah upholdeth the righteous.
¶ And their inheritance shall be for ever.
¶ And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.
¶ And the enemies of Jehovah shall be as [i]the fat of lambs:
¶ They shall consume; [j]in smoke shall they consume away.
¶ But the righteous dealeth graciously, and giveth.
¶ And they that are cursed of him shall be cut off.
¶ And he delighteth in his way.
¶ For Jehovah [k]upholdeth him with his hand.
¶ Yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken,
¶ Nor his seed begging bread.
¶ And his seed is blessed.
¶ And dwell for evermore.
¶ And forsaketh not his saints;
¶ They are preserved for ever:
¶ But the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
¶ And dwell therein for ever.
¶ And his tongue speaketh justice.
¶ None of his steps shall slide.
¶ And seeketh to slay him.
¶ Nor condemn him when he is judged.
¶ And he will exalt thee to inherit the land:
¶ When the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.
¶ And spreading himself like a green tree in its native soil.
¶ Yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.
¶ For there is a happy end to the man of peace.
¶ The end of the wicked shall be cut off.
¶ He is their stronghold in the time of trouble.
¶ He rescueth them from the wicked, and saveth them,
¶ Because they have taken refuge in him.FOOTNOTES
